The Wethersfield Diner

Building itself is a little shabby, and probably not the best place to look at. That is the only negative thing I will say. This is a little family owned eating spot. Wife in back cooking, husband making sure everything is stocked and running smoothly and a super friendly experienced waitress running the front by herself. Just a few tables, so I can imagine it being packed for a Sunday breakfast.
Service was incredibly fast, food was excellent, really enjoyed my steak and cheese omelette! The home fries needed a touch of salt, but the little burnt pieces were to die for, I found myself trying to scrape the little burnt pieces to get with every bite. All in all very happy I found this place, I had a little break in my work day and decided to check it out. I will definitely be back.

What a great little diner with a polish flare to it! Get the hash browns extra crispy, they are delicious. The portion sizes a hearty and not expensive. I like how they provide bottled soda and also a side cup of ice. This diner goes the extra mile to make you feel comfortable. Definitely make this place a Stop on your list if you are heading out to the Silas Deane Highway.

Great old-fashioned diner with a Polish twist. My eggs/bacon/pancake breakfast was fine, and the cheese pierogi with onions and sour cream were fantastic -- the cooking makes them more like part of a meal instead of a snack. They were so good I couldn't finish my pancakes!

I love this place. It's so comfy, the staff are always so personable and the food is great! The prices aren't super high like everything else these days. Just a great diner with good food and good people. This is my go-to place on my days off.

I think they should stay ther bause it a family owned and iv ben ther sents I was a kid and I think u r making a big mistake and not all that u r making family losses money what about putting back to work.i would like the diner stay ther u r going to build a housing ther but people can't afford rent know then u r going have more crimes ther. At lease people can sit and enjoy meals and u have no crimes ther.i thing u r making big mistakes bause u going have more robbery and more shooting and a lot problems ther. Then u need more police present to porteack the people at list u don't have do the bause ones people know u ther they got your back jest think about the crimes that going happen ther the u will c what u did

This is not a fancy place just a good food spot! My son got Eggs Benedict and corned beef hash. He said the Hollandaise sauce was perfect and the hash homemade. My Cinnamon raisin French toast was yummy. Piping hot oatmeal hit the spot. Endless coffee refills and warm friendly service made this diner a great discovery. We will be back when in the area. Definitely worth the trip.

We had the Corned beef Reuben sandwich and a pattie melt and smashed potatoes. The Reuben was the Best I ever had !!! Good price for the sandwichs. Will be back again 😃👍

I love everything about this little diner! The food is so on point and they have such creative and unique options. Even vegan options for people that are into that. The service is always fantastic! The smashed potatoes are 1 of my favorites but there are so many delicious things to choose from. I highly recommend.

Hands down best diner on Silas Deane highway! Fresh eggs, crispy bacon and Janice the cashier with a smile on her face. Being hungry leads to anger. Thanks for taking away my hanger...lol

Decent food, mostly comfort food. We arrived to a mostly empty restaurant, so we got a very dedicated waitress. I tried the Loco Moco, (see pictures) which wasn't bad at all. Very colorful, very beefy. A little over salted for my tastes but I don't salt my food much. The meat lover's omlette was very generously proportioned. I'd rate the food by itself about 4 stars, mostly due to the portioning and the creative specials.

What really stood out for me that brought it to five stars was the very helpful waitress. My wife had a problem with a swollen ring finger, so the waitress offered a cold compress. She offered to help as much as possible, very prompt on the coffee and water.

Altogether, if you support local non branch businesses, this one is decent for the price.

This little polish diner has the best Corned Beef Hash I have ever had. And fantastic potato latkes. Wish they were open on weekends so I could enjoy them more.

Just happened to stop by.. Clean area. Friendly servers. Enjoyed the Kielbasa & Egg on Rye for breakfast, SOLID meal, especially with a good mustard. My Uncle had Scrambled Eggs & Toast; they give you a lot of toast. Get there earlier than later. Only had one cook in the kitchen at that time; they started to turn a couple parties away as they got super busy. Awesome diner, I'll definitely be back to try most of their menu.

Such an unassuming diner but the food was delicious!! I had one of the specials, the strawberry brioche French toast, and it was so fresh and flavorful. Getting a side of their mouth watering corn beef hash is also a must!

Our waitress, Amy, was also so friendly and amazing! Food came before I could even finish my coffee.

Definitely would recommend!!
