The absolute BEST food, service, hospitality, and drink list you could ask for! We have loved coming to Cafe Renaissance for years and each time it gets better and better. The owners treat you like family and provide you with the best conversation. We could not speak more highly of them! Visit for a week night dinner or a special occasion. Don’t forget to finish the night with an Irish (decaf?!) coffee, it’s a tableside show!

My first fine dining experience here was for a birthday dinner! The experience was amazing throughout and the owner even came to our table to have some great conversations and take our orders. The service is very personalized and the waiters are very pleasant. We even got some virgin mocktails on the house for the kids! The French food tastes authentic, is so delicious, and the presentation is absolutely perfect! I especially enjoyed the filet mignon and the crème brûlée. The filet mignon was full of flavour and cooked very well. I also enjoyed the crème brûlée. It is the best I’ve ever had and it tastes great with the crispy charred and creamy texture! The latte was a pretty good nice warm drink to end such a great meal. Also, I like the atmosphere of this restaurant because it really is on par with the French design style. What an amazing place to eat at! Definitely recommend for fine dining and worth the money to eat here for something special!

Merci beaucoup! J’adore le expérience!

Came here for afternoon tea before the holidays and it was quite lovely. The food and the tea were exquisite. The space is a little tight for a wheelchair but a walker would be fine.

Our first time here. We came with friends who highly recommended Cafe Renaissance. Food lovingly prepared and fresh, excellent wine choice, atmosphere quiet, relaxing. Nice choice of music too. We tried escargot, Caesar salad, pasta with scallops and shrimp, the special: stuffed flounder with crabmeat, basically seafood for our main dishes. Desserts fresh and satisfying. We will absolutely return. We found a little gem in Vienna.

Lovely neighborhood French restaurant! 20 years in NoVA and happy to discover this place in our backyard.

Had traditional turkey sampling (prix fixe) escargot, crab stuffed sole, lobster ravioli, braised lamb shank, cappuccinos, and more.

Not cheap but reasonable for a 3 course prix fixe meal for 5 on a holiday. We will be back.

Today, I stepped into Cafe Renaissance for the first time and was immediately impressed with the beauty of the interior. From the paintings to the fresh peonies, hydrangeas, and tulips, everything was lovely. From the first impression to the moment we left, everything was superb. My friends and I came for afternoon tea to celebrate a birthday, and we enjoyed the food, tea, cocktails and the service. Henry, our waiter, was attentive and charming as was the owner.

This group loves tearooms and we are always on a quest for new ones. Cafe Renaissance is now rating at the top of the list.

Honestly, this is one of my favorite restaurants. The price is reasonable they’re very generous with their wine pores. They offer a variety of specialty cocktails that are unique and good.

This is a small restaurant and it is family owned, but it is fabulous and upscale. I’ve been coming here now for at least two or three years and I’m never disappointed. The owners are always around and making sure that customers are happy. They are very personable and the portions are reasonable. One of my favorite things is the escargot. I also enjoy the variety of side salads that they have and their lamb shank is amazing. They always have a wonderful desserts and you just can’t say no to that. Trust me.
I have not tried their high tea yet, but I am looking forward to taking my daughter to go.
I will say that they also accommodate my gluten sensitivities and I’m very happy about that.
I feel that the service is prompt. However, they don’t overcrowd you or go too fast with the courses. They also have a very reasonable five course tasting menu that you can do with or without a wine pairing.
The service is excellent, and everyone is extremely personable, friendly, and happy.
They go have a versatile menu for you to choose from.

Thank you to the owners and staff for all you do.
Perfect for a nice romantic date night or just to go out and enjoy some good food.

The food was so good but the service and warmth were even more impressive. My family of 5, including 3 kids ages 5, 8, and 10, celebrated my birthday here this evening. Each course was better than the last but honestly, our server and the gentleman at the front of the restaurant were the true highlights. They treated my family as their own and were so kind to my kids. I felt totally at home and in addition to savoring every single bite, felt so cared for and welcomed. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed my birthday meal thanks to every single person in this fabulous restaurant. We will be back time and time again! This place can’t be beat!

Classic French fare and French- inspired Italian creations are the menu du jour. With an extensive wine list and expertly made cocktails, all served by an attentive team, you're assured to have a great meal. Pace yourself -- it's a gluttonous gastronomic experience.

Recommend to me by a friend for the special coffee… we went in for the full experience: drink, appetizers, main courses, desert and the flaming Irish coffee! Escargot and eggplant for starter, filet mignon, sea bass and scallops, finished with sample desert- we loved all! Friendly staff and owner, great atmosphere…little golden plates on the walls tell of regular customers (I asked 🙂) Good experience overall, because that’s what it is, not just a dinner! Thank you!

Very cute, cozy, romantic setting, hospitable staff. We didn’t even realize the owner was attending to us. Really nice guy, reminds me of my father (they have the same name too). Food was great, would recommend.

Went here for my wife’s birthday. We had gone in 2013, really enjoyed it, but just hadn’t been back. I got the five course without wine pairing, my wife got it with. Appetizers were crab cakes, shrimp, and lobster ravioli. They are all good, but I liked the crab cake the most. Caesar salad was good, had a horseradish taste to it. The Almond Lemon Halibut was really the standout for me. Cooked to perfection, had an amazing texture and the flavor was great. It was served with the most perfect, sweetest, cooked carrot. I had ordered the Beef Tenderloin to be between medium and medium well, which they also did perfectly. It was served with a black pepper sauce (?). I found the sauce enjoyable, and different (added a sensation to my mouth), but would probably ask for it on the side next time. Desert was chocolate mousse, napoleon and a chocolate swirl cake. The mousse blew it all away. Had a cappuccino and port after, and would recommend both. Great service, friendly people. We’ll be back sooner this time.

Me and my two friends went this place for a girl night. We were looking for a place where we can eat nice food in nice atmosphere and we found cafe renaissance was absolutely amazing for us. It’s quite cute place looks like an art gallery. Servers were super talkative if you don’t like super friendly and local place do not go there they for sure will talk to you while you’re enjoying your food and drinks.

I had salmon dish and it was delicious. Also got a Cabernet Sauvignon and it’s was okay.

TLDR; fine French food with friendly faces.

What a gem! This unassuming little cafe is the real deal! Quaint and romantic atmosphere. Attention to detail in decoration. Definitely a great place to share a special night outside the hustle and bustle of the city without sacrificing quality or experience. The owner’s unmatched hospitality is reflected in the attentive staff. His over half a century of culinary expertise really shines in the nuances of flavor chosen for his exquisite dishes. Great wine selection. And don’t forget to save room for wonderful desserts! Certainly adding Renaissance to my circuit of recommended restaurants for friends and for future visits.

What a cute little place! We made a reservation and came here for Valentine's day. It is in a little shopping center so parking isn't an issue.

Four our drinks, I got a glass of red wine and my boyfriend ordered the Hemingway in Paris cocktail which was easy to drink and pretty good. I was not a fan of the Professor cocktail that he ordered as it was a little stronger and a little more bitter.

The staff is so friendly and personable and just made the experience amazing. The owner/host socialized with all the tables and was fantastic. For our appetizer, we got the Huîtres chaudes gratindées aux épinards which were the baked oysters. The oysters were a decent size and a great flavor. We also ordered the Terrine foie de Volaille et Parc. The flavor on this was great and the sauce paired well with the bread.

For dinner, I ordered the Jarrets d'agneau braisés au vin Rouge which was the Braised Lamb shank. The Lamb was SO tender but I did wish there was a sauce with it. My boyfriend ordered the Confit de canard à l'orange. That was the duck confit and it was SO good. It was tender and well cooked and the flavor was amazing.

For our desserts, I was poured some complimentary port and I ordered a creme brulee cheesecake and my boyfriend ordered the flour less chocolate cake. The Cheesecake was a standard NY cheesecake but I die like the creme brulee topping with the raspberry sauce. The chocolate cake was just a tad too rich for me but still good.

Overall definitely recommend coming here!

Delicious takeout food.
I got the sautéed chicken breast, which was amazing. The sauce was great. The vegetable sides were good. Even the next day reheated, it tasted great.
I didn't eat the fettuccine in bolognese sauce, but my mother and my brother in law both said it was good.
Their creme brulee cheesecake was good. Though my sister said it wasn't quite cheesecake and more creme brulee.
And they gave us a loaf of bread!
Prices were pretty good for our items too, all less than $20.
I would definitely order from here again. And now my family is curious about their larger dine-in menu.

Had dinner here on Friday the 22nd with my family to celebrate my birthday. We had a wonderful dining experience. From the warm welcome we received when we arrived to the delicious meal and scrumptious desserts, we had a great evening. My cocktail Hemingway in Paris and the wine enjoyed by others were crisp and delicious. The bread was just what I needed to scoop up the garlicky sauce of the escargot. The others enjoyed the Caesar salad, onion and butternut squash soups. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. My sole stuffed with flounder was cooked perfectly. The 3 mini desserts of creme brûlée, cake and chocolate mousse were a perfect way to end the birthday celebration.
