Lily's Chocolate & Coffee

Wandered into this place because I saw a line out the door and I'm so glad I did. I was going to go for a cup of strawberry with chocolate like someone else on Google reviews posted, but when I saw they have a specialty I wanted to give it a try. I went for the "Ruby" which is ruby chocolate and strawberries on the lockma. It was hot, made fresh and very delicious. I'm only in town for a few days and I think I'll likely be back it's so good. Regardless of the food, the decor is perfection. I couldn't get the best pictures because it was so busy but everything is rose, white marble and gold. Tasteful, elegant and just begging for you to take photos. Seriously, give this place a try. Apparently they also have sandwiches which sounds great. Almost everyone in front of me were getting hot chocolate. Hoping to try a coffee next, I saw Turkish coffee and rose latte which are both things I love. I'm done ranting, try this local gem!

Wandered in randomly expecting a candy shop, but was delighted to try these new-to-me Iraqi desserts. It's hard to describe exactly how amazing they are. Little balls of fried dough, like nothing you've ever had before. Super crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside plus a fun little filling. On top they are dunked/drizzled in creamy chocolatey sauces. Must try!

Majdi was a great guy with amazing customer service. The owner is very friendly and helpful with recommendations. I tired the pistachios coffee and paired it with a dessert that had pistachios cream. The area is very clean and well design, great for insta pics!

First of all, this place is just super cute and perfectly located.
It is super cozy, warm, and inviting.
I have ordered drip coffee and these small doughnuts with melted chocolate.
OMG, I died and went to heaven.
Those small balls ( Lockma) are super crispy outside, super doughy inside, and covered in melted chocolate. The chocolate was super creamy and thick and delicious.
I felt like I'm back in Belgium.
Coffe, although only dripped, was great as well and definitely perfectly paired with the dessert.
I'm definitely coming back and taking cappuccino for test :)

Vibes on vibes, on vibes... run, do not walk to Lilly's Chocolate & Coffee. Such a cute, chill spot to study, converse, or recharge. King street is all the better for this Mesopotamian délicatesse (Lokma) shop.

I love their Turkish coffee, their Luqaimat is awesome. I like walking into it in the morning its a cozy place to spend time with friends.
Plus, their loqma is really good, its exactly like Iraq, fresh and warm. I love the white chocolate one.

The lokma with chocolate and pistachio sauce was amazing! With pistachios on top, it was a crunchy treat. Also ordered the black tea with cardamom to keep with the traditional Iraqi theme and was very pleased! 😄

Stopped in here for a coffee because I saw it was pink from the outside and so cute. I got the cinnamon honey latte and loved it! The staff was so nice also!

LOVE THE DESSERTS!! Delicious and unique flavors, to die for! They’re like baby doughnuts with all different flavors. Their lattes and Turkish coffees got us through a long work session - amazing coffees!!

I'm currently trying Lily's for the first time and I've only taken two sips of their amazing Spanish Latte. As a former barista from two different coffee shops, I must say this is quite a treat. I'm currently savoring the Spanish Latte and contemplating whether I should finish this one here just to try a different flavor. Since I live in DC and won't be passing by this place until next weekend, I want to make the most of my visit.

This cute little cafe is the best place to fulfill your sweet tooth and/or hang out!

When you walk in, you immediately feel the “instagram” vibes! The color theme is pink and embraces all the feminine energy! It is a corner shop with lots of great windows and lighting, cafe style seats and some high top seating by the window- a great place to meet a friend, have a date, or just read/work solo!

At the counter I was warmly welcomed by a woman whom I believe might be the owner! I told her it was my first time trying lockmas and that I was unfamiliar with what they were. She kindly walked me through all the options and described these delicious desserts that I can’t believe I never knew about before !

The specialty food item here are the lockmas. They are a middle eastern fried dough ball (the owners are Iraqi, and come traditionally soaked in syrup/honey and sprinkled with pistachios or cinnamon on top.) At Lily’s they expanded the toppings significantly and you can cover it with the traditional items, or get dark chocolate, milk chocolate, biscoff syrup, date syrup and much more! I decided on the chocolate lockmas which have a chocolate center (NOT creme filled which made me so happy) and crushed pistachio on top. THEY WERE SO DELICIOUS. I’ve already told all my friends about this, and plan to return asap!! I love love dessert, not actually normally a big donut fan, but these are very different than American donuts and are really a great sweet treat!

It is located right on King st in Alexandria (which is the Main Street in old town Alexandria lined with cute shops, antiques, bars and restaurants- for any out -of- towners) and truly a great local business to support amongst a lot of other great options on this treat. Trust me when I say - STOP INSIDE :)

Whole place is a vibe. If you’re looking for a social media worthy spot to chill and eat some tasty pastries this is a contender. I’ll warn you, like most places in the Alexandria area, there’s some sticker shock on the prices but the lockmas on their own are worth it! The drinks were delicious, but I’m going to be dreaming about the biscoff lockma forever. Def come thru!

I love local coffee shops. Great coffee and dessert. Highly recommend.

We had lokmas for the first time at Lily's with Biscoff and it was delicious. They're basically donut holes with more outer crisp. There's a floral wall for social media photos.

Pros: tasty bites fun to share with friends
Cons: $8 for 5 donut holes is a bit much

I had an exceptional experience at the coffee shop yesterday, especially thanks to Mark, the barista who served me during my visit at night. His attention to detail and friendly demeanor made my coffee just perfect. I appreciate the outstanding service and look forward to returning for more delightful moments. Five stars!
