HopSide Brewery

Great food and great beer. We really enjoyed this place. There is seating both inside and out. The menu has a mix of sandwiches, salads, pizza and burgers. They also have options for kids. The outside dining area has a nice mural and hops and vegetables growing beside the tables. The only downside is the wasps were terrible!

Very good wait staff and fast kitchen crew.
We had some of the tater kegs with bacon and jalapeños and some fried pickle chips to start. Both came out hot and crispy full of flavor.
Then the meals came. One had a Philly wrap, one had the zatchos, and I had the big Tex burger.
All of the meals were hot and tasty as well.
Worth stopping by for a bite and to relax eating some good food.
Try them if you haven’t been.
The beer list is missing some high abv dark beers but not everyone likes them or can brew them well.
The port side porter though is really good, it makes a lot of other breweries porter seem pale and arbitrary compared to the zesty flavor of this little craft.

Great beer. Lots of options. Also serve their own liquors and mixed drinks. Typically I’m leery of a place with so many options, as it means quality is sacrificed. In this case, everything was great!

Great job all involved! Waitstaff well trained and knowledgeable about beers and food. Waitress Brooke, was awesome with her knowledge of all. This is a place I would highly recommend. Hawaiian pizza is awesome! Margarita Gose is something that if you like margaritas, it is to kill for!!!! I’m on board to return!!!

Great place to drink a good beer. The place is very beautiful and you have the option of sitting at the counter (couple) or at the table with friends. There are a lot of good quality beers to choose from. The service is fast and everyone is very friendly and polite.

What a great place! We happened upon here the day after their grand opening. Everything was operating very smoothly for a brand new business! No hiccups at all! Service was prompt and the food was wonderful! The beers were also great (the main reason we stopped as we have been to many MI breweries)! We are big IPA lovers and theirs were not hop forward but instead very smooth with a great variety of flavors. There wasn't a single thing we didnt like. We ordered the jalapeno poppers with raspberry jalapeno jam and the philly cheesesteak pizza for dinner. Wow!

Enjoyed outdoor seating even though it’s next to parking lot. The outdoor seating area is nicely enclosed. The baked zachos were awesome - had high tide platform. Not as filling as a whole pizza, but a pizza looked delicious too on other tables. The beers were also interesting. I mostly like ciders but their “cream brew la” was very good. My wife enjoyed her flights. Overall a great experience.

Great place. Beers are awesome. Food is terrific. Staff are wonderful and very interactive. Always a good time here.

my man and I came to Hopside for my baby cat’s memorial (RIP), tried a couple flights. EXCELLENT beer and atmosphere. Love. Great service, too. Highly recommend.

What a. Nice addition to Alpens. We stopped in for beer.The lite IPA is refreshing and tasty. Wait staff is fantastic. The Beautiful poured polished concrete oval bar is something special. We will return for dinner.

Our waitress was a 20/10. The food was a 10/10. The atmosphere? Flawless.

I wish I was from the area because this would easily become my new favorite spot

We ate here for lunch on the patio as we had our dog with us. They immediately brought out a bowl of water for the dog. The pickle Chios arrived hot and crispy, and the Mediterranean pizza was excellent. My husband tried a couple of beers and enjoyed them. Our server was friendly and attentive, especially since he had to keep coming out to check on us as we were the only ones seated on the patio.

Good beer options. Really enjoyed the mango prickly pear seltzer and even more, the jalapeño keg tots. They were so good and something unique that I haven't seen at many places.

Loved the food and atmosphere...waiter was fun and had suggestions we liked!

Food was amazing!! And service was absolutely delightful our server was fast attentive and knew the answer to every question we had we definitely recommend to everyone

I’ve been to quite a few breweries around Michigan & this one was one of my favorites! I had the JR Wheat beer and it was phenomenal. Bartender was helpful & the tater kegs appetizer was great. We’ll definitely be back to try other food and drinks!

First time trying this newish brewery in Alpena, and I really enjoyed myself. They have 24 beers on tap, produced on site. I appreciate the variety of styles. So many breweries are doing hoppy IPAs and ignoring some of the more traditional styles. If you enjoy some traditional styles, this place is worth a visit. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, which is always appreciated.

Wow! Great beers, and a lot of them. Something for every taste! Great food and wonderful, friendly staff. The location has a great vibe with good background music. We even talked about moving to this town just for the brewery!

Friendly waitress and great service. Burger was perfect and fries crisp. Beer was cold and good. Great place to eat

We had a the Mexican baked Zachos and a burger, both were great. The flight of beers were tasty. We had the 24 pointer, Norway Ridge Brown, JR wheat, On the Beach, Cream Brew La and the Fruit Cake. Can’t decide on our favorite.
