Tatte Bakery & Cafe | Old Town

Tatte Bakery's new addition to Old Town has quickly become a favorite spot for me. I've frequented several times since its opening, and each visit leaves me more impressed than the last. The breakfast sandwich croissant is an absolute must-try, with perfectly scrambled eggs nestled inside a buttery croissant.
The turkey sandwich is simple but delicious, with fresh ingredients that make each bite a delight. . The egg in a hole is a Mediterranean twist on a classic, Jerusalem bagel with eggs cooked inside! It is a unique and flavorful option. Lastly, the chicken pita is a flavorful and filling choice that never disappoints, the pita is warm fresh and the chicken is perfectly.
The pistachio cherry pastry is a delightful combination of nutty and fruity flavors, perfectly balanced and wonderfully buttery. Their chocolate croissant is a true indulgence, with flaky layers of pastry enveloping rich, melted chocolate. And the chocolate tart is a decadent treat, with a smooth and velvety chocolate filling encased in a crisp pastry shell. Each pastry at Tatte Bakery is a testament to their dedication to quality ingredients and expert craftsmanship.

My bestie and I stopped in while walking around Old Town with her pup. I bought her a coffee and dessert since it is her birthday month. I had the Tatte Latte and it was superb! We also got Tiramisu which tasted as good as it looks :)

I'm excited about Tatte opening in this location. I love their food and I consider their coffee drinks amongst their best in the DC area.

This location has ample space, the same decoration and furniture like the other locations. Staff is friendly, just as always.

Good spot for work & study as well.

The hot chocolate was a 42 minute wait but I’m not too mad because it’s probably because this is a new place as I speak and therefore hard to work machines or something. It was definitely worth the wait though. It was dark chocolate except I liked it. Glad I asked for regular lactose milk (even though it’s the least sustainable). And the grilled cheese was a kicker. Sourdough is my favorite.

Nice place for a coffee and snack. First the food is great. What we ordered tasted amazing. The service is a little lacking at this location…as in almost not existent.

Very busy on a Saturday morning but still worth it. I can only speak to the bakery and coffee but the bakery is fantastic and has a great selection and the coffee is solid. Lots of seating options for solos and bigger groups, which is nice.

I recommend the traditional shakshuka!! Also another good dish is their tuna sandwich. They serve all day brunch Fri-Sun which is amazing for old town! A little but noisy and busy but if you can get past that, it’s a great spot. Line moves fairly quick and order times are good too.

Warm atmosphere. Food and beverages were delicious. Service was lovely. I'm coming back for them short ribs again 🤤!

Wish there were more seats because it gets really busy here and hard to find a seat sometimes but always enjoy coming here. Cute interior!

A new favorite in old town. Food has been fantastic each time. We love the variety they’ve brought to that area. Service has been spotty and I figure it’s just part of opening a new location, training new employees.

SO HAPPY Tatte opened in Old Town. They have the BEST gluten free pastries and can get any of their sandwiches or breakfast sandwiches with gluten free bread! Their brownies and tea cakes are the best, love their matcha lemonade and coffee drinks too. So excited to have them in Alexandria!

Outstanding new coffee shop in Old Town ALX at the corner of King & St Asaph that officially opened today (1/24/24). If you are looking for a great spot in Old Town to meet for coffee, a meal or both, definitely consider Tatte. Their Old Town location is very spacious and the vibe today was awesome. Congrats on a great launch day so far, Team Tatte!

I had a wonderful experience at the recently opened neighborhood café, thanks to Walder. His attentive service and sweet demeanor made my visit enjoyable. Walder not only brought my food promptly but also took the time to ask about my meal. His recommendation to try Shakka next time added a personal touch to the experience. I look forward to returning soon.
