Tatte Bakery & Cafe | Clarendon (Virginia)

We've been frequenting Tatte Bakery since discovering our first location in DC. All of their bakeries have a consistent selection of delicious food, baked goods, quality coffee, and clean and modern decor. We especially enjoy coming to the Arlington location for breakfast on weekends since it's close to home, and we can always rely on their tasty Croque Madame, Smoked Salmon Sandwich, and delectable pastries paired with a delicious cafe latte.

This is one of my favorite coffee spots in the area! I visit this place at least twice a month.

I believe they have one of the best Iced Mochas in the area! They use a really great quality of chocolate that blends well with the espresso they use.

My boyfriend really likes their Iced House Latte and Iced Mocha too!

It was my first time trying their Chicken Pita Sandwich and it blew my mind how good it was! The ingredients paired really well and everything was freshly made including the pita bread.

The staff is also always friendly, the service is also fast even on busy days.

I love how they have ample seating space inside the cafe, it’s perfect for breakfast dates as they have an extensive food menu and a bakery with freshly baked goods daily.

It also serves as a good working spot, they have outlets and WiFi on site, a bathroom and lots of work room.

When it is busy it can get a bit noisy but it’s not terrible to the point where you have to shout to be heard.

They also have an outdoor patio which is perfect for the warmer months.

The only thing I wish is that the parking situation was better but then again it’s Clarendon, there is limited street parking generally in the area and very little room for lots.

Stumbled upon this place on a cold Saturday morning and stopped by for a quick bite. Ate breakfast there and ended up buying fresh baguette, chocolate croissants etc. from the bakery because everything looked so good. Ordered smoked salmon, avocado and egg sandwich, and traditional Shakshuka (and African dish). There was no disappointment. And the coffee was amazing.

When it comes to high quality breakfast, brunch, lunch and coffee, you can't go past Tatte. We are regulars and it's for a very good reason, they just get it right all the time. This time it was the lamb hash for me and scrambled eggs for my wife, and I want to back tomorrow to get it again.

Couple this with great location, great atmosphere and great service and it's one of the easiest 5 stars I've given

Always love visiting Tatte in Clarendon. Whether you need a good coffee, a sandwich, a tasty dessert, or a nice remote work atmosphere, it’s the place to be! This location specifically is walking distance to my home and is a perfect place to take a mid day break.

Sweets, sweet, and SWEETS! If you’re looking for an authentic bakery and cafe, this is your place. They have every possible of bakery items you can imagine. With a fully staffed coffee bar in the center of the place, it’s truly the heart and soul of the place. The staff are truly the lifeblood by their dedication to go above and beyond to ensure that each customer gets a personal touch. With a huge outside seating area, and lovely art surrounding the place, you’re in good hands inside and out.

Pricey but delicious! The signature latte was not my favorite, but the scrambled eggs with the tomato mousse and the chocolate croissant are incredible. Not busy either early Sunday morning (9am). The servers were also all very kind and helpful! Love this place

Crowded but I understand why! Food is delicious and fairly priced. Every dish is a work of art. Excellent choice if you are gluten free. GF menu has tons of choices and dishes are wonderful

Came here on a Friday afternoon and had a good experience. The strawberry tea cake paired well with an americano. I was expecting there to be some sort of filling with the tart, but it is just full of nuts with some caramel sort of drizzle (the tart was good though). Service was decent.

Enjoyed the food, coffee, and vibe there! A bit populated on weekends, so probably not an ideal place for a date. But a go-to place if just wanna chilling with friends.

This place has a great feel and the food is excellent. Huge amount of space, but given it's popularity can fill.

The bacon lettuce and tomato was a surprise - really good.

Wow this is my new favorite cafe hands down. So aesthetically pleasing, even walking up to this place is beautiful & once you step inside it’s even more beautiful. So many pastry options (looked a tad expensive but everything looked so good, definitely will be back to try). I came to Tatte yesterday. The chocolate halva bomb is pretty good, as well as the mixed fruit pastry. Macchiato had a nice aroma to it, and reasonably sized. The servers here were also pretty nice. It only took a few minutes for the macchato to come out. So relaxed and clean compared to the Tatte in Foggy Bottom.

I overall love this place. It can get hectic during the weekend morning rush. I enjoy the hot drinks and croissants. I do have a small qualm over the croque madame, every time I get it, the ham is a little cold in the center, it should be warmer. I know the egg warms it up a little but it’s not enough

Overall- pastries and hot coffees, hot chocolate, iced coffees are the right choices.

I was handed my cappuccino and instantly took a sip, bc that’s the true test. It was perfect temperature, thickness of froth, hit of espresso Crema and food is fresh and tasty and creative dishes

Wonderful place to have breakfast, brunch, tea or just a piece of cake or a sandwich, in a modern, relaxing setting. Loved that they had gluten free and vegan options. The mushroom Shakshuka was fabulous, and enough to share. Fair prices and very good service.

The selection of pastries is top shelf. Breakfast sandwiches and croissant sandwiches were delicious. Great service and a nice spot to hangout on a Sunday morning.

Been going here for over a year now, every time I go they consistently make great drinks and have amazing pastries. I have yet to try the bread, but they sell all kinds of baked goods. It’s always busy, especially on the weekends, so keep that in mind. Outlets are sparse.

Ordered their croissant and matcha latte and loved it. Even their tumeric honey latte is great option!

This is one of the cutest and most aesthetically pleasing cafes in this area!
Plus, they identify as being women-owned! I ordered the Morning Bun, Tatte House Latte, and the Maple, Squash, & Chicken Salad. Everything I ordered was delicious! While I didn’t order it for myself, I did also get to try their cheesecake and it was honestly one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever had in my life. It was so incredibly light and fluffy and felt like you were biting into a cheesecake flavored cloud! The only thing I didn’t like was that the meals come pre-prepared so you aren’t able to make any changes to them.
