Wunsche Bros. Cafe & Saloon

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious meal and wonderful experience at Wunsche Bros. today. Great atmosphere. Logan was our server and he made the experience perfect. After he introduced himself, and found out we were from out of state and had never eaten with them before, he shared a little history with us. He made recommendations and helped us find the perfect fit for our tastes. He was extremely personable and attentive. I highly recommend Wunsche Bros. and if you want to make it the best experience possible, you should really ask for Logan’s section.

If you are within 100 miles from here- COME! This restaurant is so good and the staff are incredible. I hope you get Carolyn as your waitress because she is amazing. The chicken fried steak is a 125 year old recipe and the best ever. Burger and onion rings were outstanding. Whatever you do, save room for a shareable dessert. The blackberry cobbler is absolutely wonderful. Don’t leave without touring the place for its rich history.

HIDDEN GEM UPSTAIRS- Sauerkraut balls are a hidden item you should try if you are looking for something unique. Outside sunset dinner is perfect for dinner party with guests and cozy dates. Have the town to yourself after sunset so don’t worry about the crowd. Sunday evenings are MAGICAL. Family style is a good idea too! Big portions.

The food was phenomenal, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was wonderful!!! This was only our second visit to Old Town Spring and also Wunsche Bros in a two week period. Both visits during lunchtime were the same excellent consistency. Once on a Monday and the second visit on a Saturday. They were busy both times, but we didn't have to wait for a table and the food came quickly. Deviled eggs and onion rings to start. Seared tuna, Wunsche burger and Black & Blue burger. Amazing food!! Patrick was our server both times and he was absolutely wonderful and extremely prompt with everything without having to be asked. We will definitely be back. A new favorite dining destination. Highly recommend!!!!!

The atmosphere and history was great and very interesting. The food was fabulous from appetizer to dessert. Our super nice server, Taylor was awesome! She was spot on with her menu suggestions and took great care of us. Taylor had us laughing and just really made the evening extra special.

First time at Wunsche and everything was so good that we came back three days later😊 the atmosphere, service,, and quick history was awesome! Shannon was really great and then the food❤❤❤ I thoroughly enjoyed the house salad with ranch and their dipper fries… now I’m hooked and definitely a fan!

Wonderful restaurant, bar, live music spot in Old Town Spring. It has a storied history as it has been around since 1902. They can tell you all about it when you get a table. Wonderful atmosphere, great service and great food, well worth a stop if you are in the area.

Our dinner tonight was delicious! Jazzy was our server and she was an absolute delight! We shared the Ribeye and it was the perfect amount for the two of us and cooked just right. Our drinks were so good! All around a great experience!!

Incredible experience here! Food was delectable, the waitress Misty was extremely knowledgeable in not just the menu but also the history behind the building. It was a one of a kind experience! Cannot wait to come back and try more items from their menu!!

This was such a fun place! The manager and our server Shane was awesome! Took their time to tell us about the history and haunted history! Gave us a tour as well upstairs - no ghosts unfortunately but still fun!! Took great pics of us! The food was perfect!!!

We packed about 20 ppl into the lower area but they stayed on top of food and drinks impressively. Had a ton of fun plus the haunted upstairs was fun to wonder while they put the tables together. Fun staff and cool esthetics. Worth a stop after a ghost tour.

What a delightful time we had. Came here for the chicken fried steak. It was perfect. Tried the southern style deviled eggs (yummy). Onion ring basket disappeared before I could get a 2nd bite. Has an IPA called McCoughnahaze. Excellent!

Tried to spot the ghost but didn’t see him or her. Thank goodness! Perhaps they are lurking in the washroom as setup there was strangely whimsical with his and hers sharing and lots of mirrors.

Heather was fantastic, and helped turn our night around. We came in for the first time and super excited to experience the history and wonders of this place. We were greeted by an amazing team who gave us insight on the place, and we did our mini tour. We got to the bar at the top of the restaurant and sat down. We waited in plain sight for 5-7 min and not one person acknowledged us, looked at us and for a second, I felt like a ghost in this establishment… we left and came back downstairs. This is where Heather turned things around. She loves this place and so knowledgeable of the food, offerings, specials and love for this awesome little town. We will be back because of the crew downstairs, Heather and Juan, the GM! Thank you!😊 PS we caught an orb on video!

Today we came in for lunch with a group of eight. Six of us all decided to try the chef special which was a chicken parmesan sandwich. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Compliments to Chef Justin! The chicken was a perfect crisp with the bread being a perfect complimentary softness, and all the right flavors! Logan was there a server and did an amazing job. He was very attentive, kind, and welcoming. The atmosphere was great! They were playing some good music and the building itself is just always cool to be in. I very much enjoy coming here every time I get the opportunity.

This is the best meal I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant and I don’t say that lightly. Kara was an amazing server and it couldn’t have been a better experience. The double cut pork chop is absolutely incredible.

My local favorite for over 20 years! Ambiance and service is spot on! Food is a hit or miss.. our meals were great but desserts had mixed reviews. A must have are the Moscow Mules! Worth a visit for sure.

Wunsche is such a gem! I’ve been coming here for years and am so glad that it had reopen its truly a spring icon. The food and service is fabulous. I would highly recommend the sauerkraut balls those things are so delicious you could easily eat that as your meal. The beer bread is super good light and fluffy. My chicken tenders were super crispy and flavorful you also get generous portions. The squash casserole is so good I don’t know how they do it but they do it. My Husband really enjoyed his Pulled Pork tray and it was tasty. The vibes are immaculate. Overall I would highly recommend coming here for your comfort food needs!

I brought my parents here that are visiting from upstate NY and we had a wonderful experience! Shanon was our waitress, she told us all about the history of the place, recommended the delish rodeo special drink (pictured below) and all her favorites that we ordered! Wunsche Bros is one of our favorites in the area and a must stop when we venture to Old Town Spring. It’s almost always busy on the weekends but never too long of a wait and has a really neat ambiance since it’s located in the old Saloon/Hotel. We love the history of the building and were really glad to see they got back on their feet after the fire a few years back.

Our server, Ryan was great and super helpful in recommending popular dishes. We’ve had the onion rings, fried pickles, sauerkraut balls and fried green tomatoes to start and loved them all - you really can’t go wrong with any of the appetizers. Our go-to entries included the pulled pork platter, burger, club sandwich and chicken fried steak. I come back time and time again for the squash casserole and beer bread.

Since renovating after the fire in 2015, they’ve expanded their bar, lounge, and patio areas and sometimes have live music on weekends. There are daily specials and private rooms for entertaining as well!

Meatloaf dinner was very good and plenty to eat! The chocolate whiskey cake with a cold glass of milk was my favorite. The server Dennis did a great job with the suggestions and the service. Look forward to the next visit.
