Fresh Baked Cafe

We visited the Oconomowoc site and enjoyed our coffee and croissants. Two of our party were in Paris less than a year ago (where we ate croissants daily) and these were just as amazing- really. And I enjoyed the Americanized stuff ham version so much. I love when people take a great idea and make it better. Good customer service too, which I appreciate.

Beautiful French environment and music inside. Great sights outside. Food is excellent and the coffee is stellar. Take a stop in here.

Had Cortado café ( a pleasant surprise to find it in the menú) with almond croissant and blueberry croissant . The croissant transported me to France and cortado to Spain . The atmosphere is cozy, inviting and beautifully decorated . The place is very busy . The prices are in the higher end . I think if you enjoy a good coffee with a superb flaky buttery croissant why not. Carpe diem! Salut !

Great coffee shop in Oconomowoc, unique baked goods , have never seen in Wisconsin a vanilla chocolate cream croissant, it was delicious ! I am impressed, coffee was great too!

I was *completely* delighted with my ham and cheese quiche and utterly charmed by the French music playing (and the owner singing along happily in French). Hands down THE best quiche I have ever had in my life. J'adore cet endroit!

Deliciousness and decadence in a breakfast (or lunch) baked item. Wide variety of authentic and artisanal croissants. Fun banter with proprietor/chef.

Fresh Baked
We are always on the hunt for delicious baked goods. Most of the time they are closer to the “big cities”, so you can’t imagine how excited we were to hear that Fresh Baked was opening in Oconomowoc. Just 15 minutes away, I had to prepare to gain some weight!
We have now visited a couple of times and everything is delicious. Like so delicious! When you walk in the scent of backed dough reaches you and you instantly feel hungry. If you stop on the weekend or mid morning expect a wait. The first time we stopped the line was out the door onto the sidewalk. The best time to stop would be right when they open, once they sell out (which could be quick) they are done. To be fair the place is pretty small, but they have utilized the space incredibly well.
The bakery specializes in French baked goods. The best thing is by far their chocolate brioche bread. To Die For. They also bake croissants. Always have different flavors, from almond, to brie, to guava. Always a good variety. The price is a little high, but the quality is on point. You can literally watch them making the baked goods while you buy the treats.
The chocolate brioche is our favorite, but we have yet to dislike anything that we have ordered. Again, so glad this little bakery has opened up so close. But now we have to practice self control.

I just tried the chocolate croissants (pain au chocolat) and the baguette; best ones in the area! Legitimate French goodness; I know, I grew up there. Definitely worth the half hour drive. BTW, I noticed a couple complaints about there not being enough chocolate in the chocolate croissant; those people don't know what they're taking about. The balance of chocolate to dough is just right, and the chocolate is the right kind of dark/sweet like you find in bakeries/pâtisseries in France.

My daughter who lived in Florence said the croissants were better than most of the Italian ones. (Not all. But a huge complement.) I started eating my white-and-dark chocolate croissant. Before I ever got to the chocolate I was amazed- SO flavorful! And then I got to the chocolate and it was _good_ chocolate! A hint of coffee in there? $5 / croissant and worth it!!

What a lovely place to come to enjoy a coffee and a croissant. Went this morning for the first time with my wife, we have been welcome in french, my wife was delighted!
The coffee and croissants were great! Remembered us of our time in Paris, light flaky with chocolate. We also tried the fig and Parmesan, and the chocolate peanut butter , they were amazing. We will go back for sure, such a lovely business in our downtown!

What a beautiful experience. I was not thinking that could be possible in our little ans beautiful Wisconsin ! A french coffee shop, wow ! I had a latte, a croissant with a delicious cream and fruits ans a baguette. Everything was outstanding, and unique. I can't think where here you Can find something close in look and taste.

Wow, I’m almost speechless at how amazing their croissants are. We had the regular croissant and a pain au chocolate, unbelievably buttery and flaky. We bought a baguette to have with dinner, and I am sure it will be just as amazing. Going to France next summer, and if I find anything better there croissant wise, I’ll be shocked.

I just came back from Paris, the croissant from Fresh Baked was better than the one I got in France. I did the line for the famous french baker Cedric Grolet, and Fresh baked have nothing to envy. We are so lucky to have Fresh baked in Town. Their coffee are delicious too.

Delicious, apple tart was really light and flaky.

Friendly and courteous staff. Always willing to explain if you have questions. Their coffee is absolutely delicious and you can order many specialty drinks. I love trying the different flavored croissants, some I wouldn’t think I would have liked, but do! They can get busy and sell out quickly so always go early :-) wonderful addition to downtown Oconomowoc and the drive is well worth it! Love the specials that they do around the holiday time, convenient ordering and pick up, love it! Their baguettes are so delicious eaten on their own or with a meal.

I love going to Fresh Baked. The pastries are absolutely delicious… the best outside of France! The croissants are light, fluffy and buttery just like you get in France. The pain au chocolat is so authentic French. Atmosphere is cute French cafe. The owners are very nice and friendly. I never miss a visit here when I’m in Oconomowoc!

They have the best coffee and latte in town! They roast their own beans, the others coffee shops should buy the beans from here. The baked goods are like in Europe !

This was my first time visiting! Such a cute place with delicious, flaky croissants (we had chocolate and ham & swiss - get them warmed up). Cecilia provided great customer service, and I'm so glad that she suggested trying their French baguette too. Will be back next time we're in town!

Totally awesome. Macarons were magnificent, both in flavor and texture. Ham & Cheese Croissant was so flavorful with the perfect amount of seasoning and bursting with buttery, flakey layers. 7/7 would recommend and will be returning.

My friends have been telling me how great this bakery is and I agree! Everything looks amazing - it was hard to choose. They also had some vegan pastry (one has choc) - I bought it for my daughter and she said it was delicious. They also serve coffee.
