Three Ships Coffee Roasters

The single best coffee roaster in Hampton Roads bar none.

They roast single origin coffees to perfection for my at-home pour-over. You get a free coffee drink with the beans you purchase so I always get their espresso. I try my best with my at-home setup but mine pales in comparison to their espresso, I'll be sticking to my pour-overs and leaving the espresso to the professionals.

The breakfast sandwiches are also quite nice.

But the coffee's where it's at.

The space is also super cool for hanging out with your coffee and getting some work done.

Had a meeting at The Assembly next door and stopped in for a coffee and a breakfast sandwich.

Got a vanilla latte and The S.E.C. I’m not a big coffee drinker and I thought the latte was great. Great flavor and just sweet enough where I could still enjoy the flavor of the coffee. The biscuit was incredibly fresh and soft, sausage was good, plenty of cheese and a light fluffy egg.

Always love smiles and friendly service at a coffee shop or local coffee roaster.

I had an espresso, a cold brew, and even tried a bit of the drip.

All of them were dialed and delicious.

…and so were the pastries. House made Gluten free muffin was super tasty.

Everything about three ships is balanced and beautiful.

People, design, food, and coffee.

Specialty coffee crafted by knowledgeable baristas. I really enjoyed this beautiful Cortado and conversation offered by the staff about their offerings and products. 100% recommend Three Ships for those who appreciate well made coffee. Well done!

Had a great experience at Three Ships in Norfolk. Vibes were immaculate. Kevin, one of the baristas, had excellent customer service. I told him I wanted something with matcha in it and he made me a drink that rocked my world. 10/10, would recommend, would come again.

If you were looking for a place to relax and enjoy some coffee and maybe a snack, then this is the place mama. My husband and I came for breakfast. you can customize your breakfast biscuit and had a lovely variety of drinks to choose from. Personally I really enjoyed the matcha latte and the iced mocha. They also have nice merch to buy as well! Support your local business!

We like Three Ships. It's artisan coffee. They roast their own coffee and make their own pastries and syrup. Low reviews for this coffee shop will either come from no dog policy (which I prefer...sorry) or Starbucks/DutchBros people.

This Norfolk location is a lot more polished than the Virginia Beach location which is a different vibe. Coffee is also great.

If you’re looking for the best coffee and a beautiful interior, this is it. Curated coffee and vibes in a great location. I’ll be honest, it is definitely on the pricey side, but their oat milk vanilla latte might be one of the best I’ve ever had!

Very welcoming and kind atmosphere. I got an iced vanilla latte which was pretty good. My partner got the ham and cheese croissant which was also AMAZING, it was so warm, buttery, and the croissant itself was so flaky!

I accidentally found this shop when I was walking down Grandby a few months ago and finally had the chance to stop in.

I looked in the window and saw their equipment and thought “this place must be incredible!” So I was excited to get a chance!

Their breakfast sandwich “the N.O.M” was good without being greasy or trying too hard. It was a really great experience.

Their “Luis Chaseoy” as a pour over was fruity and clean. The baristas knew what they were doing and were efficient. They addressed my 2 pet peeves with coffee shops. 1. They serve coffee for here in ceramic (no need for a paper cup if I’m staying!) and 2. They preheated the cups!

I also had a cappuccino. While it wasn’t a traditional Italian Capp, it was a really well done American/ Third wave one. I really would come back for another one.

This is a wonderful representation of 3rd Wave Coffee on the east coast. They appreciate the art, and they protect their product.

Can’t wait to come back again.

Three Ship is one of my favorite Hampton Roads coffee shops and probably the best local roaster. Their new Downtown Norfolk shop is really cool. Great vibe, cool music, free WiFi, and tons of space. Great addition to the area!

Easy walk for me to get a great morning Vanilla Latte & Breakfast Biscuit. Service is always excellent and you have ring side seats to Granby Street activity!!

I was visiting from Seattle. Usually when I travel I try to get coffee from a few different places hoping to find somewhere a bit better than the day before. On this trip Three Ships was my second attempt and after that I didn't even bother trying anywhere else because I knew it wouldn't hold up.

Over the few days I was in town I had a mocha (probably the best I've had outside of the PNW), a pourover (easily on par with what I can get at home, I liked it enough that I grabbed a bag of beans to bring back with me), and a breakfast sandwich (also egg-cellent).

If you're trapped in Norfolk and looking for a good cup of coffee, this is without a doubt your best bet.

Stopped here for some matcha and coffee while in town. Definitely recommend.

They are super friendly! If you are looking to buy a bag of coffee from a local place, go here! They have unique flavors. Plus when you buy a bag of coffee you get a free cold brew.

Just decided to get a quick coffee while I was waiting for an uber so I got a hot mocha. Turned out to be one of the best mocha drinks I’ve ever had. Dark chocolate flavor was perfect.

Happy to have one of my favourite local roaster’s available in Norfolk! The hot horchata latte has been one of my favorites for years, glad to have it back!

My favorite shop in town! The staff is awesome, coffee is top notch and the food is great too. 11/10 recommend if you’re looking for a great place to grab a quick cup or stay and work for a while. Love them!
