If I could give 6 stars I would!
Best breakfast in Buxton! Get there early and enjoy an apple ugly or other fine pastry, biscuit or sandwich. Coffee is $1 refills.
We should have gotten an extra for the road. If locals and regulars know about a place you know it’s good.
Thankful we visited them on their last day of being open for the season.

• We visited Thursday morning in late December 2023 (after Christmas)
• We saw on google they were close to where we were staying and opened early and had good reviews and decided to give it a try.
• Pulling in it was packed parking lot and because it had been raining for over 2 days part of the lot was flooded and difficult to maneuver when we got there.
• We walked in and there was 2 groups ahead of us but everything looked SOOO good. We heard online that we had to try the Apple Uglies and so happy we did. We got 2. They were like $5 but SOO worth it. Baked perfectly and filled with so much apple cinnamon and sugar. They were HEAVY! We also got the deep-fried peach pie and the blueberry pie (I think they were like $4.50 and totally worth it). Just drooling they were soo good too. Our youngest wanted the little donut holes and I think it was like $5 for dozen or $0.50 each. We got a dozen, and he loved them.
• If we were in the Cape Hatteras area we would stop by again for sure.
• We bought the baked good and drove over to the Hatteras National Seashore Visitor Center and ate them there while waiting for the visitor center to open. The dining are inside seemed to be closed when we visited anyways.

The Apple Uglies for which the bakery is famous were worth the 6 1/2 drive from Asheville. Think apple fritter on steroids, with ribbons of succulent apple pie filling, fragrant cinnamon, and a satisfying sugar-coated crunch.

I needed adult supervision in this place, ridiculously over-ordering an ugly, a cream-cheese frosting topped cinnamon roll, and TWO hand pies, blueberry and peach. The hand pies are easily 2-3 times the size of those puny Hostess jobs you see in the grocery store, and are blow-your-mind amazing. After enjoying parts of my purchase at breakfast, lunch and dinner, I still have half the ugly and a complete peach hand pie to devour tomorrow on the trip home.

Great stop for travelers coming back towards the mainland. Super easy to access alongside NC-12. The atmosphere was great, super cozy and the staff was super polite! The food was to DIE for. I got a chocolate donut, a burrito and a cinnamon roll, I’ll just let the picture of the burrito speak for itself (yes it’s as good as it looks). Would absolutely stop by again if I’m ever back in this area!!

We had the ugly apple fritter, it was amazing but also one could feed two people. It has real apples in it, it was super soft (airy) lite if you will. We all enjoyed it. They had a dark roast coffee that was good also. Get there early, the line started at before 6am. I am not kidding, no cap.

So I thought the apple ugly could not be beat. Then today I tried their cinnamon roll. Omg that icing! And the crunchy cinnamon layers! The breakfast sandwiches are so good -- like they really worked to put together egg bacon and cheese that go together well -- and the homemade bread they're served on is delicious. The donuts are also so yummy. The staff is so friendly even when swamped with people. Love this place!

The hour wait this morning was worth it! We tried a little bit of everything. The apple uglies, cinnamon buns, breakfast burritos, and peach pie were HUGE and excellent tasting. Homemade salsa on the burritos took it over the top. Would 100% suggest stopping in if you are in the area. Just get there EARLY!

There is so much to say... But this place is incredible and you need to come here early and order an apple ugly!

The staff is so courteous and helpful, and the food is delicious. They have won awards for the apple uglies, and after trying one you will understand why. Give this place your love and business!

Lovely local establishment with superb baked goods and breakfast sandwiches! Ate here every morning while we were visiting Hatteras Island and will return for subsequent visits. Highly recommend! :)

Apple ugly and cinnamon bun with cream cheese frosting are to die for. The Mando on a biscuit is perfect for breakfast on the beach. Hop across the road to Beads and Grinds for an iced latte. (They have hot brewed coffee only at Orange Blossom).

LOVE this bakery & cafe! Though my family has been visiting the Outer Banks for years, this was the first time hearing about and trying Orange Blossom. We drove about 50 min from South Nags Head to try the apple uglies and breakfast sandwiches and it was well worth the drive.

EVERYTHING that we tried here well exceeded our expectations. The apple uglies were fresh, crispy, and gooey and the breakfast sandwiches were big and filling.

If you are planning to visit Cape Hatteras, be sure to stop by for a bite to eat in the morning on your trip. The employees here are friendly and welcoming.

The Apple Ugly!!! Delicious. Exactly how a donut should taste. Let’s just say, regardless of the weather, this place is packed. We also tried the cinnamon twists and chocolate frosted donuts. Everything was just so good. GO TRY AN APPLE UGLY NOW

This place gets so packed right at 6:30, the line is out the door. It’s best to get here first thing in the morning, because they already have order ahead bakery items already packed and filled on tables right when they open. Everything was delicious and seem to be jumbo in size. They have homemade bread, which makes The bacon egg and cheese sandwich even more delicious. Their apple uglies are extremely filled and their cinnamon rolls are delicious. They do put a lot of cream cheese frosting on top, which is a little on the sweeter side. Overall this place was hands-down delicious, but a little bit pricey. Wide variety of danishes, and breakfast options.

My cousin recommended this place while we were on vacation and I'm very happy with the experience. I tried a cream cheese danish and it BLEW MY MIND!! It was hands down the best danish I ever had. I also tried an Apple Ugly which was phenomenal. It was so enormous but it was great to cut up and share with everybody. You have to get there kinda early but I 100% recommend a trip to the Orange Blossom!! Also there is an adorable area outside to sit & eat, it felt like a paradise.

These Apple Uglies are giant and absolutely phenomenal. They are so soft on the inside and filled with apple chunks all throughout. And while the cinnamon rolls were great too, the highlight was the most delicious cream cheese icing you've ever tasted! We even tried the light and creamy icing on the Apple ugly and now I have I have a new favorite dessert to temp myself with when on vacation.

The best Outer Banks recommendation I've gotten so far was to come here and get an apple ugly.

Covid-19: I didn't look into ordering online, but I was in and out very quickly right now in the off season. Every one working there had a mask on and I was the only customer in the store.

I just got an apple ugly and based on how good it was, I wish I would have gotten more. It's huge. My husband and I split it and my half was the size of a normal apple fritter.

It's one of the most delicious pastry items I've had. The fried, glazed cinnamon dough on its own is amazing. Then there is apple filling swirled throughout. I wanted another one immediately after finishing (even though I was stuffed).

I would drive an hour just to get this, but if you're staying up north, you'll probably be coming down to the Cape Hatteras area anyway, so make sure to stop here.

It's a hole in the wall, but definitely worth a stop for coffee and Apple Uglies! That's what they call their giant apple fritters. Yum! Don't wait til late morning or they might be gone.

They also have breakfast sandwiches, and have a big porch with tables. Oh, and one-person bathrooms. Be prepared to wait!
