A hidden gem of Outer Banks, NC (OBX). My family has had a good experience here. A nice museum with many native Indian relics. The largest and greatest Native American museum collection ever seen by me in the United States.

Exceptional collection of pan-indigenous objects from across this continent. I especially was interested in more local Native history and current affairs. Superb service, gift shop/bookstore, and ethnobotanical nature trail!

Very educational place to take your family. It's not too big to where young children would get bored and you can keep there attention quite well. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The weather was nice so we enjoyed the trail as well.

Visited this museum last summer. It has a very nice collection of Native American artifacts, very informative and interesting galleries and displays. Friendly and Knowledgeable staff, very reasonable rates, plenty of souvenir items for sale. A must see museum when visiting Hatteras island.

My husband and I visited this museum on our vacation to the Outer Banks. I found the museum well worth it. It was small but packed full with artifacts and written interpretation. The woman staffing the front desk was very knowledgeable about the artifacts -- I asked her about the largest and smallest artifacts in the museum. I got some booklets as souvenirs.

They have an impressive amount of Native history. It's very obviously been a labor of love. The museum looks very small from the outside but is really large inside. There's so much information and so much to look at. If you screen shot the QR codes at various displays, it'll give you more information about them. The staff is very friendly and enthusiastic about sharing information about the culture. They also have trails and things to see outside. Your ticket allows you to visit all week. Outside is always free. There's also a gift shop, a book shop and a thrift style shop to raise money. I highly recommend visiting. They've done a fabulous job! Be sure to check their website for different events they have. Also remember Mondays are by appointment only.

Wow! Do you want to learn something? Do want something to do when it rains? Plus the outdoor exhibit is free 365 days a year. My Native America friend says please look out for eye level spider webs as they are are harmless. Just like snakes, they are more scared of humans so they WILL NOT attack if not provoked. I think that is a good tip for the whole island.
Listen at the end of the tour “How coyote made fire” 🔥 I promise once you here the Native American Ledgend you will never forget it. ♥

The crystal Native American Museum was a great stop. I think the photograph all pieces that were displayed in the museum as you can see through my photos. the cashier and the help was fantastic she was versed pretty well and as far as the display was concerned and knew where the place was headed in the future. The future will consist of either raspberry pi and or Arduino.

A very strange but interesting collection of artifacts to perfectly complement a strange town. Tall people, beware of the low ceilings.

Wonderful museum with some fascinating historical objects to see. Friendly and knowledgeable staff willing to answer questions. Worth the price of admission for sure.

My only minor comment is some of the displays could use some light dusting.

I wish the museum was bigger! It was super cool walking through and seeing all the artifacts and dolls, masks, etc... I learned some stuff I never would have known if I didn't visit. The nature trail is a bit overgrown, but still walkable. The person that was running the place that day provided some insight on skinwalkers and other native American legends. She was super nice and informative! Worth the price and time spent.

Incredible collection of Native American artifacts from all over country. Thought-provoking and inspiring, I learned much I didn't know about this area and the history of our land. Wonderful staff ready to answer any questions or share additional information. $8+tax is well worth the entry fee!

I was very impressed by the diversity of tribes and correlating artifacts there were.
I’ve never been to a place that has been about Natives yet also about multiple tribes. I usually see such places dedicated to one group (Cherokee, etc.). It’s so rare to see this structure, and I really enjoyed it.
If people enjoy history and/ or learning about the USA’s native peoples, I’d certainly recommend it.
