District Camera & Imaging - Burke VA

Soooo. I’m new to photography and I made the dumb mistake of buying something with pricing too good to be true on eBay. The lens arrived, I excitedly unpacked it and put it on my camera. Cue anger. Lens was a dud. I thought ok maybe I’m just dumb. I remembered a family member telling me about this place so I drove out with all my stuff and had them examine it to see if it was user error. At first he thought it was user error. But, no, Confirmed dud.

They didn’t pressure me into any sales of any kind. I asked what they had available in a comparable size and function. I was presented with 3 items in 3 price points.
He was extremely patient with me, explaining the difference between them and why one option was better than the other.
Really great first time experience in the store and can’t wait to go back for classes!

So glad this place is around! I'm just getting into photography (film specifically) and every time I come here with a question or looking for something they always go above and beyond to help.

Recently I went in looking for something a bit nicer than my Canon point and shoot and David must've spent close to an hour looking at and helping me pick a camera well suited for what I wanted (ended up with a vintage Yashica). The camera hadn't yet been tested but David and Ramona helped me set it up and clean it in store and once we knew it worked they helped me pick film and a strap for it.

I've come here multiple times to develop film as well and they've always been timely and responsive about the process.

Really love this place!

Great experience. The sales lady did not rush us and was very helpful. The intention was to only look at cameras, but we ended up buying a Nikon 6S body and lenses adapter.

Dangerously good customer service; I came in for a bag insert and left with some extra glass.

Knowledgeable staff, but inventory can be limited just from space limitations and the amount of shoppers who come through.

This place is amazing, The staff is so professional and they know everything, and go above and beyond to help out even over the phone or in person!
Those people are trying to help in any possible way and they are there to give advice and explain everything not just to sell a product! They care about the customer!

Im a private jeweler and had a client project I was working on and needed photography experts to help me complete my project. I can’t say enough good things about District Camera, Burke. Every staff member went above and beyond for my project. I had a difficult project for a client-and the team in Burke, as well as some of the DC team members-worked together to complete my photo project-in record time-and with quality that I couldn’t have imagined.

This is my go-to spot. As a studio catering to photographers in Springfield, VA I need a store nearby that can get the things I need quickly. This place does that for me.

Ramona is very helpful and highly customer service oriented District photo is my favorite store.

Extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff,(talented too!) especially for film. I genuinely appreciate staff that want the best for the person. Even recommending other imaging labs locally to develop slide film (they only develop BW and color). Keeping business in the community and helping me out today was greatly appreciated.

Wish all businesses followed the principles of District Camera in DC; 2 young men very helpful to me with a question on a camera I didn't buy, and there was no charge, just excellent customer service, these people are very professional and helpful. Certainly the younger staff were friendly that I experienced.

Very friendly staff, the store is a bit compact but they have good stock.
We bought an old Canon rebel with a 35-80 mm lens for $140 for our sons school.

Excellent and personal customer service. Allan was super helpful and knowledgeable, and took his time discussing what gear best fit my needs. Very happy with my purchase of a Canon R6 body and a used 70-200 lens in excellent condition. Best camera store in the DMV I've found.

Great camera store, especially if you are a real gear head. The selection is great for a medium sided store. The staff is outstanding and knowledgeable about current equipment. If you want good glass, where you can get hands on it before buying and friendly people to help you. This is the store to visit.

I've never had a bad experience with the crew at District Camera; bought and sold a lot of equipment from them for many years and always appreciate their patience and time working to make the experience perfect. They don't upsell and perhaps most importantly, they love all things photography be it digital or film.

As an analog aficionado, I am also happy to report that that they have a large selection of color and B/W film available in their retail shop in both 120 and 135 format, very nice given the scarcity of film nowadays. They also have an amazing selection of used gear at very competitive prices that they guarantee will work. First place I look for all things photography... and they're local! I was in town visiting my mom this past weekend and stopped by this shop on a whim. The guys working that day were super nice and were more than willing to check out my canon fd 50mm f/1.8 lens. The lens's aperture is stuck and it isn't worth fixing but it was really cool of them to just quickly take a look for me and confirm what I had unofficially suspected. I took a quick look around the shop and they had some nice medium format cameras that looked interesting and probably anything else you'd want. I would definitely check them out if I were in the market for something in the future just based on their stock and customer service.
