The employees at short pump always go out of there way to help with everything while I'm there! They are friendly and always tell me about current and upcoming sales.

The store opens at 11AM most weekdays, which already makes it tough to plan around, but I arrived today at that time and waited 5 or 6 minutes at the locked storefront door without seeing anyone inside. I know the American Eagle stores across the aisle of the mall are hip to the aerie happenings so I went over to ask them to find out what was up. They called over and apparently there was only one employee, so they couldn’t open. They didn’t know when someone else would be arriving, maybe within the hour. I waited until 11:15 and gave them a call myself so they knew customers were waiting, but got the same ambiguous answer and decided the potential purchases wouldn’t be worth the inconvenience.

Their stuff is cool I guess sometimes. But their Black Friday sale is a joke. 40% is something they have most of the year. Their “flare leggings” (yoga pants for intelligent folk) are still almost $40 with the Black Friday price. Lol no. Couldn’t be me.

Abbi (or Abby) at this location was incredibly rude to me and refused to apologize when I expressed my displeasure with her curt, dismissive unhelpful attitude and tone (I did not yell or use bad language in my complaint). She looked blankly at me and said she wasn’t being rude. All in front of a manager “just trying to close”. It doesn’t matter if you’re closing- do the basics of customer service and offer a customer an apology. I’ve worked retail/customer service for 15+ years- that was childish and embarrassing for you brand. A team member who is flat out rude and a manager who doesn’t manage. Which is such a shame as this location was newly remodeled and every other time I’ve been here staff was kind. That was not the retail experience I expect from this brand/location.

I purchased a pair of leggings at this location, went back to return them a few weeks later as the sizing was absolutely awful and the girls at the register told me they cannot accept the return as they do not sell those leggings here. I literally bought them at that exact same store and when I told them this they essentially ignored me and would not help me. Aerie has a great return policy which this store is not honoring, I have never had issues returning items to any other aerie store. I am now out $25 which is super frustrating

One extremely rude employee (featured on IG aerie_shortpump 02/05) that walked on my heels and then ignored my friend and I but gathered with other employees at the front of the store despite myself and others needing assistance. Then several employees that either didn’t want to have customers in there or seriously lacked in social skills. One register was open despite like 5 employees. One girl was very kind and helpful and doing more than the others including opening dressing rooms. I’m fortunate I don’t live nearby bc I won’t be back. I wasn’t going to leave a review until I saw my experience wasn’t unique.

I walked in and no one greeted me, which is fine. When two girls (who happened to be smaller than me) walked in behind me, they were greeted and were helped immediately. Definitely prefer the offline by aerie store.

If I could give zero stars I surely would. My friend and I walked in here today with our babies. We were browsing and my friend immediately found a very cute, deep green one piece swim suit. She put it on top of the canopy on the stroller and continued to browse as we got further in the store because she was curious about bras we came across the most rude group of girls. They stood in the back not doing a thing .. except staring at us. So myself being confused asked my friend why they were staring at us and then I turned to them and repeated the question but they just stared and didn’t speak. Now to paint the picture my friend and I along with our sons were the only poc inside. Aside from the two Hispanic ( looking ) girls towards the front that were awesome . The rest of the staff was white and gave us a very unwelcoming feeling. We were in there around 5:30. When one of the two lady’s up front asked how we were doing I made her aware that we were being watched like a hawk for no reason. One of those two ladies walked with us out the store because our money clearly wasn’t welcomed and was so extremely nice and professional ! She let us know that the ladies in the back causing the issue would be leaving soon and that we could come back to shop with her if we wanted to after they left.

In my 8+ years of managing multiple retail stores I have never known a retailer to train their staff or approve of this behavior. If you feel something is not right with guests inside the store you are supposed to give a “recovery statement”. They didn’t even try to say anything to us but had they of spoken to us we would have gladly reassured them we were planning to shop and nothing else. But the approach they took was rude, wrong, and embarrassing.

If this is the culture this brand is trying to represent then I hope this company goes out of business. In 2022. I really hope it wasn’t racism however that’s exactly what it looked and felt like. To the two young ladies up front, the one to greet us and the one that spoke with us , GREAT JOB! To the rest of them including the young lady at the register .. they really shouldn’t be working with the general public if they have an issue with poc.

I have come here 3 times now and all three times I have had a terrible experience. The store always has younger people working there and you can never tell who is the manager. The first time I called about an item availability in store and they said it was available, I confirmed the price and asked if I could use my Aeri coupon and they said yes. Once I got to the store I was given totally different bras, at totally different prices. I still was patient and waited for someone to bring the ones I held over the phone. They then informed me that they never had them and the employee did not know what they were talking about. I came all the way there and they LIED to me over the phone it was unacceptable. They did not even try to help me find a similar item, instead they kept staring at me like they wanted me to leave the store. The second time I came in I was treated so rudely, there were other customers in the store and I asked an employee for help and she just pointed in some general direction saying the item was there. It was not, meanwhile, they were spending loads of time with the other customer and kept asking her if she needed anything else. I felt unwelcome because I did not want to shop there ever again. The third instance was my sister, who came in to get an exchange and I stood outside and waited for her since I was not going to be humiliated again. It was a simple exchange and she wanted to buy a couple of other things and they were so rude to her, the manager literally talked down to her like she was dumb. All my sister asked was if they had any promos and if they could order the items online since her size was unavailable. They said they NEVER have promos and all the items at the SHORT PUMP store are full price since its a high traffic area. I dont think she needed to say all that but whatever and as for ordering items online they said she can do it herself. Needless to say I will not be recommending this store to ANYONE..... nor will I ever be coming back.....
