Brooklyn Public Library - Flatbush Branch

By far when it comes to academic based children events they are the best. They have spelling bees for the children , a garden and more. The staff that run the programs are so friendly. The location is always organized and clean. The patrons are orderly and there is no riff raff.

Cons:
Some of the computers in the children's section are down but that could be a good thing because that will force children to read more books and less screen time.

There should be more books added to the children selection from award winning authors. Many of the books are very liberal and/or sci-fi which is not bad when there is a balance.

Advice
Keep up the good work and try to implement more STEM children's programs (robatics, earth science) and Literacy programs (reading award programs, reginonal spelling bees, writing composition workshop for school age kids etc.).

Coffee shop, vinyl records, ebooks, and real books. Need to print something out? Need a book for the visually impaired? Do you like graphic novels or need to hold a small meeting in a clean meeting space? Want great recipes from another country or culture? Stop sleeping on the library! Take a chance! This place is great! There are many programs and learning opportunities at the library.

I came to the facility to print from the computer. I wasn't aware a library card was needed. The young woman at the front desk was very helpful and patient while I completed the online application. The facility itself was clean and organized. The computers, printers and fax/copy machines are easy to use. In order to use the printers and fax machines you have to place money on your library card. This was also easy to do as well because there is a machine that assists with that. I'm glad I found this library

Joshua the Librarian that did the hotspot and laptop orientation
was very professional he was very specific on how to use both products I've being a part of the program since it started but no one has explained the uses of the program like Joshua did.Thank you Joshua you did a very impressive job.Thanks to all the wonderful Staff at the Flatbush Brooklyn Public Library you are the most courteous and best I have met

Love this library! I found all the staff to be incredibly helpful, they have a great understanding of the local community. The library hosts a wide range of free programs including immigration assistance, tax advice, chess class, anime/manga drawing classes, and tutoring!

Super friendly and helpful staff, a couple rooms with tables for working in this small building, but the shelves are practically bare! So sad that not all branches are given the same resources and attention...I had to order all my books from the Central Library.

Friendly staff. There is a nice large room that is used for activities such as dance classes.

A wonderful local library with helpful staff. They have monthly book club, have exhibitions by local artist and youth, and is overall a safe place to come and read a book or do research.

The kids librarian is nice friendly to all!
