It was awesome! I've learned a lot about WW2 in school back in the 80's & seeing live history right in front of me was so cool. The hanger is so big!! The old airplanes are not to be missed if you're traveling to Tillamook.

I can not believe how amazing this museum is. The blimp hangar has been standing since WWII and still in great shape for our surpassing its life expectancy. Total enjoyed seeing this gigantic building. Totally worth the trip.

Such an amazing stop while in tillamook. So much history packed into this place! There is a fee to enter but it’s worth it. We stayed a couple hours taking in all the information and exploring the history. They put a lot of work into the place and it shows. Loved our visit.

First visit here was 7 years ago. We were on a vacation from Virginia, visiting family in the area. The size and scope of the hanger can only be appreciated by walking inside. The history of it all will be felt as soon as you do. Now that we live here it's still one of our most favorite places. A "must" kind of experience for all ages!

This place was huge!! Been to Tillamook many times in my life and never been here but the size of the building was jaw dropping. Good museum, lots of plack's to read and a bunch of different planes and a few jets.

My boyfriend and I had a blast here! At first we were apprehensive but quickly got into it and had a good time. The building is so cool to see in person on the inside. Pictures couldn’t do it justice. Definitely worth a trip or a stop on the way, for all ages!

Truly an unforgettable experience. A piece of history that should be remembered for eternity.
There was a beautifully touching holocaust tribute, many stories of soldiers lost, and the story of a fire in the belly of a grieving nation, on its way to WW2.

Cool place (literally too). Bring a hoodie or jacket if you're going when it's not warm.

I enjoy airplane Museums, & this was my first time visiting this one. The hangar alone is fascinating. I think it was built in 1943, but I could be wrong. It's a massive wooden structure, & when I walked up, I could hear tin flapping on the roof. Once you're inside, there are puddles here & there from the leaking roof, but it just gives a lot of character. It smells like metal, fuel, & old wood inside.

There's a mini-guppy parked outside of the hangar, in which you can go inside (after you get your tickets).

The bathrooms were clean. There's a small nostalgic diner, but it was closed when we went.

There were lots of cockpits you could check out. I admittedly got in a few.

There are a couple of rooms with historical hand-painted miniatures & models.

There's a tented area full of small planes, vehicles & interesting things like a gyrocopter.

There are no aliens here. Just a silly photo-shopped imaged.

Displays developed over years by dedicated volunteers in a rare blimp hangar. This immense wooden structure is awe inspiring and can easily be seen from the highway. There are cockpits to clamber into, a helium room, (no you can't inhale helium in the helium room! but it is pretty cool to learn how the gas was reclaimed to float WWII blimps). There are some sobering displays about the perils of flight for one local pilot and the Holocaust. Flight enthusiasts have assembled a collection of small planes and experimental aircraft that visitors can view up close. Don't miss the room with uniforms and personal memorabilia from women and men who served America during WWII.

If you've never been inside a guppy you can do that, too. It's a freebie to the north end of the hangar. Tickets are required to enter the hangar space but the gift shop and cute weekend diner are open to the public. The ticket prices are modest and they do support the great work this volunteer organization puts together for all of us to enjoy.

Did I mention? There's also a train locomotive inside.

Haunting and awesome. The building alone is worth the visit. This museum is worth the visit and boasts a decent collection of airplanes and other exhibits.

I love this place. My grandfather served here and my mom was born on this base. So many great exhibits. I just wish there was more history about the base and the people who served. It seems like there is little info to gleen about it. Even from the navy.
Still worth the stop to see the building and all the planes they have collected.

This is a good museum. You can see a lot of fighter planes F14 tomcat, transporters, prop planes, 1970s TWA cut out, simulators, lots of aircraft engines. There is a big blimp. There are also trucks, fire engines, tractors. Good place for kids. The inside is cavernous, I was amazed to see such a huge hanger. It was used for the blimps. There is a mini guppy at the front, you can go inside, unfortunately it is slowly rusting away being exposed to the Oregon winter rain, they could take it inside, there is enough space. It is a majestic building to see to really appreciate the enormity of the building. If you go towards 3 pm then ticket price is $5. 1 h may be less but can see most of the exhibits. Guppy is outside and they waited after 4pm for us to finish the tour. We liked the place.

We stopped in Astoria, Oregon as one of our ports of call on our Celebrity cruise. We picked the Ultimate Oregon excursion which drive us down the coast to Tillamook.
I was excited to see this museum and pleased at what we found.
The tour company provided us with a bag lunch and everyone seemed very happy with the sandwiches provided from the small food counter.
A great gift shop with cool little souvenirs.

Great experience at the Tillamook Air Museum. A large hangar with a multitude of planes and aircraft. We have been to a few air museums but none have been as enjoyable as this one. What made it fun was so many aircraft that our child can climb into and sit in. Very interactive experience. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Afterwards our kid was able to take a bi-plane ride over Tillamook. What a wonderful ending to a perfect day. Highly recommend.

Nestled along the stunning coastline of Oregon, the Tillamook Air Museum is a hidden gem that aviation enthusiasts and history buffs alike must not miss. While the museum boasts an impressive collection of vintage aircraft and artifacts, it's the breathtaking scale model exhibit that truly takes visitors on an unforgettable journey through aviation history.

The scale model exhibit at Tillamook Air Museum is nothing short of awe-inspiring. As you step into the exhibit hall, you're immediately greeted by an expansive panorama of meticulously crafted miniature aircraft and detailed dioramas that recreate iconic moments in aviation history. The attention to detail is astonishing; every aircraft, every building, and every landscape element is rendered with an astounding level of accuracy and precision.

Not so much a comprehensive air museum, this blimp hanger is historic in itself and definitely worth a visit.

This museum is a must-see!! There is fun to be had for all ages.

The parking is perfect for big rigs.

Visitors in wheelchairs won't be able to see the inside of some of the planes because there are only stairs to get to the top. However, there are plenty of floor lever things to see.

The restrooms were clean.

The cafe was not open at the time of our visit. I'm unsure of the hours.

It is a very hands-on place to visit. It is enormous! Five 🌟

Great Historic place. Pictures don't do it justice, 2 Hindenburg Airships could fit inside side by side.
