Servers are wonderful and enjoy / tolerate kids in the dining room. Food is great classic New England pub fare

Perfect atmosphere, friendly people, and great fish. And, a fabulous waitress who patiently let our daughter draw her a tattoo. We love this place and hope to visit again.

Delicious clam chowder and the Baked haddock entree with mashed potatoes and Cole slaw was both very tasty and filling. It's pub food generally, so not a huge variety of choices...but it was very good ! Highly recommend...

A marvelous place for a quality romantic dinner. The staff was attentive but didn't hover about.
I had the teriyaki steak tips, medium rare, with real mashed potatoes along with roasted carrots and green beans. Cooked to perfection.
Although the place was busy the atmosphere allowed for normal conversation without talking loudly to be heard. There wasn't any pressure to leave which was a good reason to order desert. The chocolate cheesecake with whipped cream complimented the dinner perfectly.
I strongly recommend this restaurant.

A Cape Ann staple, chowder was fantastic and fast, the drinks were stiff and the staff was as always, unique in a good way. One of my favorite things about Halibut is that there is interaction among the clientele, not obtrusive at all, but a sense of comradere between the patrons, kind of like they all know that's exactly where they should be right then, and everyone feels the same way.

They serve the best haddock platters with mustard sauce, cheese and bread crumbs on it. So creamy and flaky. And their mashed potatoes are to die for! I opted for coleslaw as a side and it did not disappoint. So good I still crave for it, but its so far away from New Jersey.

A good place to relax and speak well. Friendly enough. Down-to-earth. An owner with the gift of the gab if and when a little spark is called for, you know, to keep the ball rolling. Not for the overly self-assured or vauntingly self-entitled. My step-dad and my uncle loved going in to the place and for dozens of years turned up once a week for a good lunch and bit of drink. What more can I say? Give it a try.

We have eaten here many times over many years. Small place where the locals go but great food and staff. Cups of chowda and Itian fish soup so good - even in the heat - and ice tea. Full.menu and bar. High recommend.

The best little pub in town! great beer selection, beer and food. bartenders are super nice and hip! Keven is my favorite! Nevertheless, if you are look for sea food or oysters this the place to stop.

Great meal, and very friendly staff! We ate outside, and had a wonderful experience. Awesome atmosphere, prompt and courteous server; highly recommended.

Reasonably priced

Halibut point is a regular stop for us. Oysters are always great. Last night I had a seared tuna steak and went home happy. Again.

Went for dinner, great service and food. The Italian fish chowder was delicious. Huge pieces of fish. Highly recommend.

Fish soup and clam chowder is delicious. Staff are the friendliest and the story behind the original owner is legendary!

Excellent food and service 👍👌 I've always loved that clam chowder. I just recently tried one of their burgers and they are really good.

As a tour guide, I love telling people that this was Howard Blackburn's original tavern! Built in 1900 by the same architects that built my home - Ezra Philips!

I am never disappointed here. I love the food, beer and atmosphere. One of my favorite places to dine in Gloucester!

Halibut Point has the! best! Clam Chowder! ever! ever since i've been in gloucester me i have gone after lunch just to get a bowl of the delicious clam chowder
