Crow's Nest

My husband and I headed to Salem from NH this weekend to celebrate our 15th anniversary and wanted to stay outside of it. We secured a spot at the Crows nest and loved the vibe instantly. Yes, it’s outdated but I felt like it gave it a rustic vintage vibe. Learning all about the Perfect Storm crew from the bartender was a plus as well! Great spot and a bonus for people who love history!

A must go to. The Crows Nest was everything I was expecting&more. The atmosphere,Bartender&2ladies across the bar who used the coaster as a boomerang past me were absolutely the best. Friendly and the photo albums were great. Can't say anything but the best things about this place. Talking to the locals and especially the one older lady who lived in the area &worked at Gortons Fishery for 44yrs was awesome to talk to. 💛🍺🍺See you all again in October where I'll be staying at the Nest.

This was a wonderful find. I traveled to see my girlfriend and this place was recommended. The bar is a friendly experience with local natives. Also a drama free establishment.

Stopped in yesterday and found a welcoming environment. Definitely a locals bar, but we were treated like a regular. In the area for a week and will definitely be back. The bartender, Pixie, was fantastic.

This place is awesome. Really fun place. I took a pic of the mural on the wall of the Andrea Gail and the guys that perished with her. Nice people and nice, clean bar.

Stay here 1-2 times a year to go fishing. Nothing fancy, but clean and friendly

Service was great and bartender very friendly. He shared pictures of actors that were involved in the Perfect Storm and shared stories of the people onboard the Andrea Gail. All very respectively.

NICE ROOMS FOR RENT....

Great little bar where Perfect Storm was filmed. They still even have the old room keys behind the bar! When we stopped by we ran into two guys that were a lot of fun! We ended up getting lost and headed on to the next town but wish we could get back in touch with Mike and Vincent.

Great experience hanging out with the locals in Gloucester. Friendly atmosphere and the bartenders are amazing... had such a good time that we left with some merchandise, too (tees and hats)! Definitely stop by and see this landmark if you're town.

If you want a real new England bar - this is a great dive kinda pub - cheap food, fit to eat but basic. Some nice beers on tap. Nothing fancy but nice for a bit of fandom for the Perfect Storm movie.

Love this bar. Love the atmosphere and the people. I sometimes come in for just one drink, but leave with a smile.

Great ambiance and the staff is amazing. What a fun stop! A great memory from our vacation.

My traveling mate and I had the best time. Clean rooms and easy street parking. Enjoyed the bar too and great staff. Highly recommend. The bar had a digital juke box! Love those.

We did not regret stopping here for some drinks. Once the bartender realized we were not locals (which wouldn't be hard to see) he brought our drinks and a photo album of all of the locals in which the movie The Perfect Storm was based on out. We had the chilli with sour cream and crackers which did not disappoint. You wanna talk about atmosphere? We listened in on a table of local patrons of the bar swapping stories in their ocean seasoned voices. I will be returning but next time we will be renting a room above the bar if it's available.

One of the best local bars I've ever been in we went to see where the movie the perfect storm originated from well at least the story. This local pub was full of some of the most kind generous people happy to tell you stories and share personal experiences I wish I could remember the bartenders name she was wonderful we sat next to two seasoned professional fisherman who were full of life and stories that I hope I never forget if I ever make it back to mass again that is the town I will stay in. Taking the time to drive up to Gloucester was one of the best decisions me and the wife made we ate at causeways which was absolutely amazing and then had a drink at the crows nest to let our food settle I only wish I would've known about that place before we came to mass I can't say enough kind things about the crows nest to do it justice anyone who complains is a fool and has no understanding of the meaning of local life thanks again.

The Crow's Nest is a great local bar. Nothing fancy, just a down to earth place with friendly people! We even stayed in one of the guest rooms upstairs for our night in Gloucester. The room was like the bar, basic but comfy. The room was impeccably clean and well worth the low price to stay there. Sure, we coulda paid $200 for a night in a fancy downtown place. But the $140 we saved paid for beer and dinner, and we still had a bed to sleep in. Awesome experience, we'll be back! One word of warning, smoking is allowed in the guest rooms (at least it was in the one we were in). It didn't bother us, even though we're non-smokers, but it might bother some.

Best place by far!! The people were great and beer was cold! Got some awesome gear there as well. Next trip to Mass I will be going again for sure. Maybe even spend a night or two.
