I was Approached while at work and offered a managers position. I worked for a different company at the time. I then contacted the lady that approached me and offered me the managers position and I told her I would take it. Not even 24 hours later after the assistant manager at that store and the previous manager had a fit because they didn’t want me to become the manager even though the manager at the time was leaving. They told me they cannot offer me the job anymore. The lady that approached me was Molly in for my understanding she is one of the higher-ups in the company. I can’t even call and complain to anybody because all they do is send me to her. Molly also tell me when to come in the store than it needed to be confidential and I kept it confidential. The assistant at the time as a family friend and I didn’t get my job because everybody in the store had a fit which is unfair to me because I already quit my previous job to take the job that Molly offered me. She shouldn’t be offering people jobs even talking about pay and setting up dates to fill out paperwork if she’s going to refuse to hire. This is very disrespectful and unprofessional on her part.

I was hired for a maintenance position: You're responsible for traveling to different gas stations around AR and completing work orders, but management's #1 priority is changing lightbulbs. >90% of the stores I visited were very poorly maintained and had numerous issues not reported on work orders. You will find that these stores require uncommon and obscure parts/bulbs that will need to be speciality ordered. Management pressures you into fixing everything that day but does not want you to travel to get what parts you need. You cannot have a quality mindset when you are being pressured into jerryrigging fixes and moving quickly to the next property. You will uncover countless problems at each store that need immediate attention, but you will not have the time or support to repair. I suggest you do not choose salary but hourly, because you will be doing alot of overtime to complete the daily work orders on top of the urgent issues store staff tell you and you uncover. I did not feel supported when I did buy parts from a big box store and also management was irritated that obscure lightbulbs and uncommon commercial appliance parts were not readily available in rural Arkansas.

The main part of this job from what I can gather from management is changing outside lightbulbs via their older boom lift. So be prepared to tow that every day and spend most of your day outside each store. I did not feel like the inside of the stores were a priority for management including what I judged to be urgent repairs.

The work truck I was given was very unorganized and trashed, and took me an afternoon to get to a workable state. I was told that all the tools I needed for the job would be supplied, but I had to use my personal tools every day. Not a problem, but be prepared to bring your own if you want to do a job right.

My biggest concern was my lack of clear direction from management when I directly asked for what they wanted. I was told to prioritize but also cycle through the stores quickly. I was pressured to fix everything in a short time frame but was not understood when I explained that I needed uncommon and obscure parts. I was not allowed to get parts that day because of the distance to the nearest big box store, but I was pressured still to fix everything that day.

Management needs to do a better job communicating their desires to maintenance staff. They need to understand that these poorly maintained and ancient stores will have rare parts that need to be specially ordered. And also that there are many serious issues inside the store that are not reported. They can't not have it both ways: fix everything same day, but not travel to get parts, and cycle through properties quickly.

Also the credit cards I received were not accepted at small town hardware stores. I had to use to my personal card to buy parts to fix a leak in a walk in fridge. That was not on a work order, but I found an inch of standing water in the walk in fridge, soaking all the boxes and creating a fall risk to employees. I did not feel supported by management that I found this problem and fixed it instead of calling an outside vendor.

Unless management changes, I don't know how any maintenance person with all the experience and judgement in the world can please them. I worked hard every day, took no meal breaks, prioritized urgent vs non, and cycled through more properties than assigned for the day. But I was still unable to please them.

I resigned from this company due to a harsh reaction from management and lack of response to my clear and accommodating question trying to figure out what my job responsibilities were. I did not have any trouble fixing things at various properties other than needing uncommon parts that I wasn't permitted or able to get.

I hope you have better luck than I did at this job, and I suggest getting immediate clear direction about what they want from you specifically. Do not be afraid of heights, you will have to use the lift daily. Be prepared to travel and work much more than 8hrs a day to complete your assigned tasks.

Used to work here. I quit and I’m being told that by other people that I know still go to that store that I worked at that I got fired for stealing. There was a lot of back stabbing going on at that particular store. The manager would drop off her kid for one employee I particularly to watch said kid. If you have a problem with anything while working there we were told to keep our mouths shut and deal with it. I was told numerous times to work off the clock. I can go to the other stores and still be treated like a human being except at 003. The employees need to be corrected on how to talk to customers especially if there talking about previous employees to their family and friends.

I would STONGLY advise any person seeking employment for Doublebee's Convenient stores which is owned by BHT Investment Co. The store #125 is the store I was hired on for cashier position. The store manager whom I was hired by was at the time 2nd store manager in the past 2 months. After working there four less then a week had resigned from her position. Within my 4th week of employment, store 125# had went through another store manager in that short amount of time. That same week I was offered good job. Before I could even give my 2 week notice I was removed from schedule and forced to quit by BHT upper management. I was told that the reason I was cut down to only one 3hr shift a week was because I had called in sick twice within my 90 day probationary period that if I had a tempiture on a work day to give notice and return to work with a doctor's note. I provided both doctors notes each separate days. The store manager and employees were all very nice for the most part....the district manager that was there upon my resigning my position and the "traveling store manager" were both.. for lack of better terms are very cold hearted, with absolutely no compassion for any of there employees. My best friend, was already a cashier at that store for a year before I was hired. She found another job offer in which she excepted. She gave her 2 week notice and was told by management that she was a good worker and she could work up until the end of her 2 weeks but if she changed mind about leaving store#125 that they would let her keep her position. As soon as the district manager was informed she wrote up the store manager for not removing my friend from the schedule. So remember if you're wanting to work at a convenient store and or gas station I'd try to gain employment anywhere else you can find..except BHT Investments and Doublebees because they only care about themselves and not there employees. I TRULY HOPE THAT THE DISTRICT MANAGER AND BHT'S TOP BRASS A MERRY CHRISTMAS WITH THERE FAMILIES BECAUSE HOPEFULLY WE WILL BE TO CALL OUR FAMILIES....LET ALONE TRAVEL 2 HOURS AWAY TO SPEND IT WITH ARE FAMILIES. EVERYONE WOULD YOU PLEASE SAY A NICE PRAYER...NOT FOR US..PRAY FOR BHT AND ALL THE. FAMLIES OF PEOPLE WHO WORKED OR ARE STILL WORKING WITHIN THE COMPANY. MOST IMPORTANTLY IF YOU FIND A BETTER JOB DO NOT TELL ANYONE IN THERE MANAGEMENT BECAUSE YOU WILL BE FORCED OUT SOME WAY. I'VE SEEN AND BWEN TOLD BY THE" TRAVELING MANGER". I SEEN FIRST HAND HOW SHE'LL TELL FALSE STORIES OF MANY PEOPLE WHO WORKED THERE. SHE STATED THAT SPREADING RUMORS(SOME RACIALLY MOTIVATED. FROM ONE WORKER TO ANOTHER THAT EVENTUALLY HER REASONS FOR DOING SUCH THINGS IS TO FIND THW BETTER WORKERS. I HONESTLY BELIEVE THAT THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO START PAYING ATTENTION TO THE EMPLOYEES AND NOT TO ALL THE PROFITS THERE PULL IN AN WHAT NOT. I'VE SEEN FIRST HAND ON MORE THEN ONE OCCASION PREJUDICE AGAINST TOWARDS AN AFRICA AMERICAN EMPLOYEE.
