1606 Restaurant & Oyster Bar

One of my favorite bar to vist and bring my friends from out of town. Even tho there was rain 🌧 showers early morning 🌄 the sun came out and became a very beautiful day out at *54. Windy but worth every penny I spent here...I highly recommend this is one of the top Gloucester restaurants to vist if u come to town. I most highly recommend. I myself will always be back you can count on that. Shane

We ate at this restaurant that's located inside the beautiful Beauport Hotel in Gloucester. Beautiful dining room with inside and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating overlooks the ocean. The inside dining room is really beautiful with ample seating. The drinks menu has a pretty extensive wine and spirits selection. Great cocktails. The appetizers were delicious especially the crab cake and the tuna tartare and thr crab poutine. The service was really great and efficient.

I love when you go to a place a few times and the experience only gets better every time. We met with friends at the bar. We ordered a few apps (delicious BTW) to go with a couple of wonderful drinks mixed by our phenomenal bartender, Arwen. They also had live entertainment the evening we were there. Highly recommend trying them out!

I had a romantic dinner on the deck of the 1606 restaurant the other night. It is very European to sit outside even on a cooler night with blankets.
I had a shrimp risotto (gluten free) Unfortunately it is only an appetizer size and they couldn’t make it bigger for me to have this as my main course. It tasted heavenly. I ordered a gluten-free burger and Caesar salad after . I was happy they were able accommodate my gluten-free request.
They have a good selection of wine to choose from.

The view and the atmosphere is absolutely incredible.
As they had two functions that night they don’t take reservations. We had about an hour wait to get a table. It is a super fun place to go to. I highly recommend it

One of my all time favorite restaurants to go for an outdoor dining resort experience right in Gloucester. Absolutely love the seating outside and the beautiful views, and the food is incredibly fresh. Sometimes portions may be smaller, and that's what you're signing up for with high quality food!

We love Coming here, the food is exquisite, the atmosphere is something I've never experienced in my entirety. Adam is definitely one of the best bar managers. I enjoy our conversations always asks how we are doing and actually cares about our well being. (N.O.W.A)
Salty John is hands down one of the most knowledgeable men about local shellfish in the New England area. Always sets up the best grand towers for us. Keeps us coming back and will always come back to this amazing place

Anniversary dinner for the win. We were seated in front of the windows inside; the view was perfect and romantic. Tables were not SUPER close together so you can enjoy your personal space. Got the regular seafood tower to start. Everything was perfect and fresh; just enough for 2 people. Cocktails were that perfect mix of stiff, but delicious. Disappointed in myself I don't have pictures of the entrees, but FINALLY a place that didn't ask me how I wanted the tuna steak cooked. Sesame crusted tuna was seared to perfection on the outside and deliciously raw on the inside WITHOUT having to ask. A dish I will remember till the next celebration. My husband's rave - "Best scallops I've ever had". And I will agree. Finished our tab and were so struck by the sunset we grabbed another drink at the bar with leather couches. Waited for someone to leave the rocking chairs along the wire fencing on the deck where we finished off the night. Views and vibes were perfect for enjoying an entire romantic evening in one spot. Will be back and highly recommend for a special evening.

Great seafood restaurant, with a nice view & available outside seat when the weather allows it. The seafood dishes are well prepared & the wine list offers good choices. Prices are reasonable. There is wifi & parking is free in the hotel spot.

Wonderful food, great ambiance and excellent service. We ate on the deck for lunch, the haddock was excellent however the fried calamari was less so.. It contained green olives and chorizo which did not interact well with the main ingredient... The calamari.

Absolutely great views of the harbor while you eat some amazing food...... However the servers tried but we're clumsy, and a bit disorganized. As a former waiter I know the importance of table presence and etiquette. In a place of this caliber I feel they could do a little bit better. Perhaps it was just an off day, but the service wasn't up to snuff.

When i tell you it was fantastic… i’m definitely undermining this restaurant. It was the perfect portions. Perfect view. Incredible service. And don’t get me started on how the food taste. If you are looking for an exquisite evening, this is the place to go.

Spent the afternoon celebrating a friend's birthday. Excellent food, great service, fair pricing, very nice view. Complimentary dessert with a candle was a fun surprise. We'll be back.

Came in for dinner last week and couldn't be more happy with the service I received. Laney, our server, was so bubbly, knowledgeable, and prompt with bringing our requested items that it really set the mood right. Our food was good, nothing out of the ordinary, (great oysters), but really cannot rave enough about Laney's service! Will definitely be back soon.

Everything Soo flavorful and the view is great. Let's start with the clam chowder w chive aioili... Yes ailoili this brings it to the next level. We also got the mushroom flat bread w truffle sauce and ox tail risotto both were prepared well and savory. For the main coarse 1606 Burger very well done and even seasoned after it was pulled off the grill. Swordfish burger w pesto and open faced veggie burger.
