James at the Mill

I have often traveled to the Fayetteville area on business and had passed the sign for James at the Mill many times. I finally decided I just had to try it. It was a wonderful dining experience. The food was delicious, the restaurant was really attractive and interesting. I do not travel to the area any more, and I am sorry I waited to give it a try. I would definitely go back to James at the Mill given the opportunity!

JATM is a Northwest Arkansas gem. I had forgotten how perfectly located it is from just about anywhere in NWA and kick myself for not going here more often for family, work, and casual get-togethers.

I used the OpenTable reservation app recently for dinner with my husband. We sat upstairs, overlooking the downstairs dining room and the huge sycamore tree that spans the entire floor to ceiling. Our view overlooked both the Inn and the charming grounds. Gorgeous! To our right we could see the bustling activity in the open kitchen. Great atmosphere to go along with the delicious food!

I ordered the dry onion-crusted chicken breast with the butternut squash risotto, hericot-vert (green beans) and chicken natural sauce for $19. Absolutely fantastic and yes, I will be having this same dish again and again and again! JATM makes the dining experience interesting from the beginning to the end with little surprise touches of palate cleansers and tasty bites to sample, including a sampling of a beef short rib! Next time that is on the menu, I am getting it.

This place supports the local farmers by purchasing produce directly from the growers! You just cant beat this quality, and the flavor speaks fresh loudly. I vote "best food in NWA."

Too bad they are so unpatriotic and do not appreciate the men and women who fight for this country. I called and asked if they were doing any discounts for veteran's day, the gentleman on the phone said "no, we don't do anything for that". Really? Not even an appetizer or 10% off from one of the most expensive restaurants in the area? That's just sad...

Way overrated. The food is not worth their pretentious price or attitude. I guess I'm spoiled. ...where I'm from the food is actually good.
