Hugo's

Every time I'm in the area, I eat here. Everything is locally sourced including the burger buns. The food is excellent and the service is fast. Also the carrot and Ginger Soup special is exactly that.... special. You definitely won't be disappointed if you chose to eat at Hugo's!

This is downstairs from the sidewalk cute little diner inside there. Kind of old-school style. Historic building area.

I didn’t get a picture of the blackened chicken sandwich. They have called it the Ruben chicken. Oh my gosh it was awesome. It came with chips and a pickle. $12
Yeah, it’s more than I would normally spend for a chicken sandwich but got this for my son I had to have a bite. It was amazing with Maybe blue cheese herbed on top.

And I got a salad with a ranch dressing. It’s just a simple salad, but it was really good basic iceberg, lettuce, eggs, ham I had them add cucumber and onions.
I was pretty happy with it, and it’s larger than I was expecting . $11 or $12

Great food and atmosphere!!! This is a hidden gem 💎. I had a jalapeño burger, and it was so delicious. I wasn't sure what to think about getting homemade chips, but they killed it on that as well. We also got a basket of fries, and it is enough to feed at least 2 people. We must go back!!!

We all had the hamburgers which were amazing. They come with chips so I ordered a basket of fries. Fries were disappointing. Over cooked and soggy. Otherwise great service and great atmosphere.

Had a great experience visiting Hugo’s in October. When I visited NW AR with my fiancé this year it was important for us to go to Hugo’s since my great uncle Lamar (or he went by the nickname Andy with our family) founded the restaurant with his wife in the late 70s. It was my first time visiting again in almost 20 years and I was pleasantly surprised to see almost nothing has changed in the best way possible and that the painting of Lamar is still on site posthumously. Definitely would visit Hugo’s more if we didn’t live 800 miles away but am happy that it still seems to be a place that is enjoyed by many.

Great place! The burgers were cooked perfectly and FULL of flavor, the service was friendly, and the French fries were delicious.

The atmosphere is unlike anything in the area and resembles a hip old Chicago bar compared to being where it’s located.

Highly suggest.

This is a true local secret in Fayetteville. Hugo's is downtown but is a cool semi hidden basement restaurant and bar. I first went during restaurant week and they had a line out the door for lunch but got me seated within 5 min. All staff are helpful, efficient, and fast. I have heard their burgers are the bomb but I have only tried their beer cheese soup (the best), Muffuletta, and crepes both savory and sweet. Everything has been delicious. It really tastes homemade, award winning, and unique. I recommend this place to everyone!

Great restaurant downstairs. Kind of dark, eclectic, cool and old school eatery. Our server was great. Personable, knowledgeable, and made our experience great. Great burgers and a huge basket of fries to fill us up. Glad we tried something new. We will be back. Thanks!!

We were visiting from out of town and actually passed this place, then decided to turn around and try it. We are so glad that we did because this place is incredible! The food was prepared well, the service was quick, despite being packed, and the cocktails were great.

I have to say that the grasshopper crepes was my absolute favorite item! Give this place a try, it's worth the wait! We will definitely be adding this place to our favorite places to visit.

Great place for a really good burger! The atmosphere is fun since it’s “underground” - and the service was excellent. Best part might be that they cooked the burgers to perfection - I’m a medium-rare guy and it was spot on! Only recommendations are to add a little more cheese to those cheese fries and don’t charge extra for ranch. But, it’s a great place - gotta try it when you’re in Fayetteville.

Read the reviews as we came up on the city, we were starving. I didn’t even need to read other reviews for different places. The reviews are SPOT ON! We started with an appetizer of spinach artichoke dip. WOW! It was incredible! I ordered the Blue Moon burger and my company ordered the Mushroom and Swiss burger and added bacon. Both burgers were extremely moist, the best burgers I have ever tasted!! I did try both, I would have gotten the mushroom Swiss if I came back. We got a side of fries which were recommended and they are as good as they look! Apparently this is a town staple. So SO good!! Service is clearly something they take personally, staff were moving quickly and working as a team! Loved the whole experience in this moody basement bar/restaurant.

Very eclectic atmosphere. It has a dark, basement bar vibe. The servers were very attentive, and the food was excellent. I have eaten lunch here probably 10 times and all have been good experiences. I would imagine the nightlife here is spot on!

We decided to try out Hugo's tonight and I'm glad we did. It's a cool little place that's been around for 40+ years, and it didn't disappoint!

Our wait was only ~10 minutes, but we opted to sit at the bar anyways. Kirby was super helpful and prompt with bringing our appetizers and drinks. The chips and salsa was very good, and their drink selection is great! Tons of unique bourbons and scotch behind the bar, so make sure you look carefully before choosing! This place honestly has a better whisky curation than most high end bars. (Tell your GM, he's got good taste!).

I had the jalapeno cheese burger and it was fantastic. The meat was perfectly seasoned, and the burger wasn't overly greasy like nicer burgers tend to be.

Overall, it was a great experience and we'll be regulars when we visit again!

One of the best burgers I have ever had!!! Excellent ingredients, cool atmosphere, and pleasant service. Expect to wait around 45 minutes for a seat but it is absolutely worth it. Looking forward to eating here again soon. 5 stars!

I always enjoy some Hugo's. Tonight was busy and I was alone so I just sat at the bar and ordered food. Amazing bar tenders. I love how much of a staple the place is. It was even used multiple times for True Detective season 3. Some of the best burgers and beer Fayetteville has to offer.

Hugo’s is a local favorite and a classic burger bar joint. The waits are pretty long on the weekends and game days, especially if you have a party larger than 4, but if you like freshly cooked (soaked bottom bun) burgers, this is the place for you. They also have hand made French fries that for some reason soak up salt. I swear, I have to add so much salt to those things to make them taste like anything. Regardless, I really enjoy going here for the food and the basement ambiance and if you are in Fayetteville and are craving a burger, you should definitely stop by!!!

Hugo’s is one of my favorite Burger Spots I’ve ever been to!!

First and foremost - I must mention the location. This speakeasy style Burger bar is an awesome atmosphere to enjoy your food. It can get loud, but I would highly recommend eating here.

The burgers are incredible. I have gotten several burgers but my favorite is the Blue Moon. The bleu cheese burger is exceptional and if you like that kinda thing I would 100% recommend. The meat is smokey and tasty, the buns are delicious as well. The burgers come standard with chips, but I’d recommend getting the fries as well. Overall great spot, and a CANT miss in Fayetteville.

They have the best burgers in Northwest Arkansas, perhaps all of Arkansas. Atmosphere was really cool and service was quick. Definitely going there every time I'm in the area. Also right in the middle of town so it's a prime location if you want to walk around after.

Very busy place, but absolutely worth the wait! The location is very unique, gives you a certain comfortable atmosphere. We sat at the bar, got great service. The jalapeño bacon cheeseburger was absolutely delicious, cooked a perfect med-well. The kettle cooked style chips were different, but I do love a good crunch with my burger so it was great. We ordered fries and they were tasty as well. I will always return to Hugo's if I'm in the area!

I haven't been to Hugo's since my days at JR. I still love the basement atmosphere, but it can get a little loud, which is what many people love about the place. They still have killer burgers and excellent service. If you've never been there, it's a must in Fayetteville
