Compton Hill Reservoir Park Reviews

I walked in this park after work today. It's always nice and quiet. On one side it has a tennis court, playground and swing set. On the other side it has the Tower and a nice pond. There's several benches to rest on. There's a nice paced walkway that goes throughout the entire park. There's a dog park located near the playground, but the sign said you have to have some type of membership. You may have to be a home owner in the surrounding neighborhood, but I'd suggest to contact the City of St. Louis to inquire. You can still walk your dogs here and there's doggie stations set up with supplies just in case your doggie takes a poop. This is a family friendly park for all to enjoy. The Tower is actually a museum that's open certain weekends throughout the summer. It's no more than $5 for entry and I've been once. It's very nice, but hot inside the Tower. It takes maybe 15 minutes to get to the top, but once you do, there's a beautiful view of the City. So have your cameras ready.

Today was my first time at this park, and I liked it. It is spacious enough to walk your dog for their potty break, and there is a playground, dog park, and tennis court. It is a well-maintained park, and I recommend it to those with pets!

Quiet and smallish but lovely park with nice walkways, lots of benches, and multiple stone stairs. We spent part of the day sledding down the central Hill and it was perfect.

This is the best liminal park I have ever been to. It's just got the strangest and most interesting vibe to it, like a Miyazaki movie.

Absolutely LOVED this park. The walking paths are lovely, it is well kept and tended. There were Park rangers in duty while I was there. A nice relaxing atmosphere to get some exercise, have a picnic, read a book etc.

Drove by many times and finally stopped. The water tower is a St. Louis iconic landmark. Beautiful sculpture dedicated to German immigrants.

Cool park with nice path around it and a good playground

Only went to the playground a couple times but my toddler loved it. Relatively clean but could have used some attention. There was a mess on a slide that stayed for a couple days.

Nice playground. Good stairs when out running. Nice space. A blast for sledding... Just be careful

I really enjoy this park in the evening. The park has walking paths on both sides of the reservoir along with a fountain pond with lovely lily pads all along one end. There is the historic water tower and you can walk up around the reservoir for a birds eye view of the city. This park is a true hidden gem

This is a beautiful park with one of two remaining brick water towers in the country (the other is less ornamental and on north grand.) They open the tower on full moons for walk ups. Great place to jog and exercise in the morning. Sneak up on the hill at night and enjoy the view of the city.

This is a beautiful park to stroll through. The water tower itself has historical significance and there are some very interesting angles to photograph the tower throughout the park and surrounding neighborhood. Though the tower is currently under maintenance, once it re-opens don't miss an opportunity to climb to the top for the unique views of downtown St. Louis. Check their Facebook page for the latest news on viewing opportunities.

Beautiful park, been there for years! My grandfather proposed to my grandfather there! A great place to take a walk or sit on the bench in front of the watertower. A great place to prepose!

Man, so much park packed into one tight little spot. This is a great little walkers park tucked right on the side of grand and 44, the French water tower offers and grand vision of once was. One of the fewest water tower of it's kind was and is a marvel of ingenuity. It's architect named it de del la creme after his love for french yogurt.

Cool place, good views, and a nice walk.

Beautiful park with a unique experience! Check to see which nights the tower is open (usually during the full moon). It's 198 steps to the top for a gorgeous skyline view for a reasonable ticket fee.

This is a nice park, if small, with a walking path. It is really nice to walk along the top of the reservoir. You can also access the water tower on certain days. There are a lot of stairs but the view is worth it!

Great experience for the full moon, highly recommend to anyone from or visiting St. Louis!

The park is great. The historic water tower offers the best view of St. Louis. It's open the first Saturday of the month and the night of the full moon. Both are entirely different experiences. Do them both if possible!
