Ocean Blue Caribbean Restaurant and Bar

From the outside you can’t tell how spacious this restaurant feels. Great food, great service. I debated about posting this review because I’m not sure I want everyone to know how good this Jamaican place is. We’ve spent the past couple weeks trying all the Caribbean restaurants across greater Phoenix and this place holds the top spot. Large and flaky beef patties. Delicious hot curry. And the oxtails 🤤 We loved the food in the restaurant so much we got take away and I’m so excited to go back and try their other menus items.

Authentic Jamaican Cuisine, This has been the very best restaurant I have been too, I had the oxtail with Rice and Beans with Yellow Plantain and the curry chicken. I couldn’t believe the flavors, is to Die for.

Very Constable Clean and the atmosphere was very welcoming,

Beer and other drinks are served specially The Mojito is a must try.

Easy on and off I-10 just a few blocks away.

Parking was excellent and spacious.

Ordered fried chicken with white rice curry gravy and cabbage. I will say best Jamaican food since I’ve been in Arizona. Most places are overpriced and the taste of the food has not matched nor the servings . Servings are plenty food is fresh and made to order and the taste is there. Curry goat was good as well.

I searched for Jamaican restaurant to get the authentic flavors cooked properly. Not weakened to appease one type of taste. Not over spiced to appease the preference of chef. Ocean Blue hit the mark.
The flavors of Scotch Bonnet Peppers, Thyme, and All Spice were present. The presentation was well done. Try the Brown Stew Chicken; Curried Goat; Ox-Tails. I did not try the Snapper but saw someone else eating. It looked delicious. Another patron had the Ackee and Salt Fish and she was amazed.
The staff is friendly and attentive. It’s a small staff so please don’t be impatient. They make a great drinks as well. Try the Mango Pineapple Ginger.
You will enjoy the food.

I had to go back to this restaurant and celebrate my birthday because I remembered how good the food was. The staff is so friendly and the Chef brings the food out to you. This is a fine-dining experience in a vacation setting. This is like being on an island vacation. They brought out a complimentary slice of sweet potato pie.

We are visiting the Phoenix area and wanted something special for my birthday dinner. Ocean Blue did not disappoint. Raven was handling the front of the house by herself but did a great job, even rearranging tables for our group of 6. The drinks were tropical and tasty and the food was spicy and flavorful. My mother was nervous about spice but the curry shrimp was perfect for her. A great experience with both food and service.

My family and I were visiting the Phoenix area for the weekend and we wanted Jamaican food. A search online lead to Ocean Blue but it was closing in an hour. We rushed there anyways and ordered jerk chicken and curry goat combo for take out. However serval of the sides were sold out and we totally understood since it was almost closing time. No worries - we were happy to get different sides. Then, the chef brought our food and said in the kindest tone and apologized that he ran out of sides. My husband reiterated that it was totally fine because we came too late. The chef thanked us for our understanding and said he had already prepared two full orders of jerk chicken and curry goat for us instead of the one combo plate! He also added in a curry chicken we didn’t order! OMG what an amazing and generous host! We felt like he treated us like family who had come to his home for a meal. That wasn’t it, when we ate our food back at the hotel, we were blown away by how good it was. Totally reminded us of the food we had when we vacationed in Jamaica. The food was so good that my husband begged me freeze the leftover jerk chicken to take it back to CA the next day. Lol Thank you Chef for being such a gracious host and you have a fantastic talent for cooking delicious food! We will definitely visit again when we come back to AZ.

The food tasted absolutely amazing!!!! We did wait a long time but, it was so worth it. I got the jerk chicken and curry shrimp and my husband got the tacos. It's the type of food you rave about hours after you ate it. If you're willing to wait a bit, it's so worth it.

Went in a half hour before they closed and did not hesitate to serve me. Luckily it wasn't very busy. The food was great, just moved here from Massachusetts and glad I found this spot so I can still eat curry and oxtail. Staff was really polite and hard working.

Delicious food and great staff. I and my family had my 49th birthday dinner here. For a Saturday night it was pretty full and the restaurant was pretty stressed with diners and online orders. We waited longer than usual but was taken care from start to end. Everyone in our part of seven found and enjoyed every bit of our orders. One in our party is vegan and was beyond happy with their order. We ordered a lot of drinks both alcoholic and non and they were made to perfection. An overall great experience.

Felt a little out of place when we sat down. We asked our server some questions and she seemed to warm to us. We got the shrimp app, jerk chicken, jerk salmon, oxtail, and goat. Everything was really delicious!! The festivals they gave us complimentary were sooo delicious!!! Everything had such great seasoning to it. We asked our server about the seasoning in the beans and rice and she was able to tell us the unique and tasty combo of flavors. I imagine they do more takeout than dine in but I would definitely recommend giving them a try!!

For lunch I ordered the oxtail plate with plantains, rice, and beans. I also ordered the extra side of oxtail and a piece of pie.

The food was well seasoned. The serving of oxtail was generous and there was a lot of meat on the bones.

I will say, I ordered ahead and picked up my food to avoid the slow service I read about in other reviews.

Best Caribbean food in Chandler. Always fresh and made to order. The flavors are authentic and keeps us coming back for more.

Service is great with smiling faces. Dining is enjoyable with the atmosphere of a being at the beach at a hut without the sand and water.

If you like Caribbean food( or never tried it) go here. We had dinner. Goat, chicken, ox tail , plantains, rice and beans, jerk shrimp .. I was going to take a pic but it smelled to good when we got it., so here are the empty plates lol.. oh yeah full bar. The mango, pineapple ginger drink is a must.

I have been searching for a Caribbean restaurant for a long time and I'm so happy that I finally found one and a convenient location in Chandler. Really enjoyed the curry goat, plantains, festivals (small slightly sweet biscuits, and this amazing making punch! This is my new Caribbean spot!

This is one of my favorite little spots to have drinks and apps! It makes me feel like I should be going on vacation! Definitely check it out! They have some unique food, and if you like spicy this is the place!

Excellent service. Food was great exactly what was needed when missing Jamaica. Chef Dean big up yourself brother keep on making Mobay and Jamaica proud. Definitely coming back when I am in town.

Excellent restaurant. The food and service was amazing and I am definitely going to recommend this to others. In fact, the service was so good that when I called about losing my retainer there, they digged through the trash and found it for me. I can't say how thankful and appreciative I am of that. (: also, try the plantains!!

Clean restaurant, food was delicious, service was excellent. Would definitely return if I'm ever in the area again.
