Google needs to add 6th star to their reviews so that we can provide a proper review of Charlie's Garage. These guys are super knowledgeable, experienced, professional, thorough, and courteous. Their work is high quality and reliable. My wife and I have three very active young ones. Our family has a very busy and sometimes hectic schedule. When one of our two vehicles goes down it makes life incredibly difficult for all of us. Charlie's has bailed us out big time on more than one occasion. They got us, got our issue diagnosed and repaired, and got our vehicles back to us very promptly helping to turn what could have been an absolutely horrible situation into a minor bump in the road. I highly recommend Charlie's Garage in Salem for all of your auto care and repair needs. Thank you very much guys!

This is by far the best garage in Massachusetts. The mechanics, joe and Dave, and the owner Lou are the most fair,knowledgeable, and efficient mechanics I've ever dealt with. There's nothing they can't figure out. Dave has a sixth sense when it comes to diagnosing a problem. There's nothing they haven't seen. I would recommend this garage to anyone looking for great service at a fair price.

I've been coming to Charlies since 2016. They've worked on two cars for me, helped me pick out my newer vehicle and have always been fair on pricing.

I feel listen to and understood, never talked down to either. Which I feel is important, not a big car person here but I'm willing to learn and read and they've never shied away from any question I've had.

I keep coming back because Lou and David and Team are amazing kind people who are an asset to the local community and are great mechanics.

I always recommend them to others. I only wish their shop was big enough for state inspections! Haha I would never have to go anywhere else!

Little, out of the way garage that does it all, when they say they will, and how they say they will. They don't try to push service you don't need. Very thorough, courteous, and caring. They'll have all my business from now forward.

I drove from Georgia to visit family and my brakes were shaking the car upon arrival. Lou and his son squeezed us in on the only day we had available before our return trip to Georgia. Our van is driving perfect and I’m so thankful for the recommendation from my mother in law and the last minute accommodations to get us in to complete the repair.

I had a mystery noise in my car. They checked everything and Lou couldn't find it initially, but assured me the car was perfectly safe to drive. They let me drive them around and demonstrate the noise, they checked everything again and didn't give up on trying to find it. They were very willing to work with me and listen to my input. Lou went above and beyond to call up another mechanic and take it to their place to look at it. He made it clear that he wasn't going to order and replace bs parts just as a guess. They eventually found it (tiny gap in the engine heat shield, causing it to flap in the wind and smack into the car) and charged a very fair price for the repair.

I used to run a transportation business, for approximately 18 years. I brought all of my vehicles to Charlie's Garage for all of the repairs that I needed. Not only was I well taken care of but the prices for service were exceptionally reasonable and the quality of the parts and the workmanship was outstanding. I would totally recommend this automotive repair facility to everyone that is in need of quality repair, at a truly competitive rate. I have found no other automotive repair shop that can beat them for their price and the quality of their work.

Charlie's Garage is the best on the Northshore! Dave, one of the owners, is the best at not only analyzing those mystery noises but also is focused on customer satisfaction. They understand budgets but don't cut corners. My car has never run better! Come here if you want to be valued as a customer and have superior service on your vehicle!

Dave fixed my electrical issue when a couple other garages couldn't. I recommend them for any troubleshooting issues.

My car was in great need of an oil change. Not only were they open but I was able to get in that day. Super friendly explained all about costs and why, I felt extremely comfortable and will be brining my vehicle back again.
