We had the Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup. The bread is homemade and delicious with an appropriate amount of cheese. The soup is warm, creamy and very delicious. Ohh....the Latte was wonderful. Great service.

This spot was a happy pleasant surprise. If you're looking for a hearty American breakfast, this is not your spot, and that is a very good thing. Instead of the usual truck stop or diner fare, Upper Bend offers a carefully curated selection of delicious alternatives and artful spins on the usual breakfast menu.

I had a latte and maple toast. My hubs had the monkfish toast, and we split a slab of basque cheesecake because, well, we were feeling decadent for brekkies.

The latte was excellent, bold and strong, but smooth. The maple toast was perfect, because it was simple: crisp crust, soft center, and a solid maple flavor that was pleasantly not sticky sweet. The monkfish toast was amazing, like a reimagined lox bagel. The bread, pickled onions and greens all brought different levels of crunch, with the cream cheese adding a slightly sour base and the monkfish bringing a buttery mouth-feel.

I don't regret getting the basque cheesecake at all. It was delicious. The center was light and custardy, while the outer edge had a more spongy cake texture, almost like two desserts in one. And it was lightly sweetened, not the instant diabetes norm for cheesecakes these days. Perfect.

I'll definitely be back to nibble my way through the rest of the menu.

We came here all the way from Boston and were NOT disappointed, the food is innovative and mouth watering, staff are so nice and we loved the vibe.

This was a really cute spot. Nice space to sit a while. Friendly and helpful staff.

I just had an espresso doppio. It wasn’t the best. A bit bitter, but if I had gotten it as a cappuccino or latte it probably would have been great.

My wife had a black raspberry soda. She loved it. Two thumbs way up.

I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back, but if I were in the area again, I’d stop for sure!

I almost don’t want more people to find out about this place because I’ll have to wait on a longer line, but it would be worth it! I love everything about Upper Bend from the outdoor seating to the decor to the dishes. It’s such a bright friendly space where you’ll always run into someone you know (even if you’re new in town like me) because all the locals know how awesome it is. The menu is always changing, but some of the classics are always available - like the maple toast, my go-to! Add to all that a gumball machine curated by Nik of Sadie’s Bikes, a Black Lives Matter sign in the window, and the teddy bear glasses they serve my kid her chocolate milk in… it’s one big win.

Easy to find with ample parking out front which was nice. Cute bright yellow french cafe tables and chairs on the sidewalk to eat at. A Black Lives Matters sign and a diverse clientele let me know this is my kind of lunch place. I introduced myself and asked what they'd recommend I eat. A regular customer said, "Anything. And you'll want to come back and try something different every time." I ordered the bean toast, which was amazing, filling, and beautiful, believe it or not. Yeah. It was an entire meal. And had a subtle kick of spice, but I'd still call it mild. I got a Mocha Latte with a dollop of, get this, homemade toasted marshmallow fluff. Yes. And it was fantastic. While sitting outside, I got swarmed by yellow jackets, so as I was balancing my cup and food to open the door to sit inside, another customer left her laptop and came and opened the door for me. Everyone was really lovely. The menu is inspired, simple, and delicious. What more could you ask for? I'm definitely going back and ordering something totally new next time. And when I was putting my dishes in the bin as I was leaving, the lady behind the counter said, "So Mindy, how was everything?" She remembered my name. And I'll tell you, they had a line out to the door. Yeah, it's THAT kind of place.

Great little coffee spot, and the food is excellent as well! Nice chill vibe, and the staff are all super nice. Definitely recommend the breakfast sandwiches or the biscuits with maple butter.

What a pleasant place to get a cup of coffee. Service was friendly, the coffee was excellent and shop a pleasant place to hang out. I thought about deducting points for no wifi... but then I thought... "maybe they should get extra points for not having wifi..."

Amazing food and coffee! Very unique menu that changes regularly. My husband and I got different unique coffee variations - I got the Stoned Pony and he got the Caffe Amerikano. The Amerikano was delightful! The ghee offset any bitterness from the coffee and the nutty maple syrup entranced the nuttiness from the coffee bean. The Stoned Pony was interesting but I think the carbonation enhanced the bitter taste of the espresso. The Pate sandwich was amazing and the breakfast sandwich with the chili crunch was so good! We also grabbed a cream ale - for $3 it was worth every cent!!!

We drank our beet kvass and pickle soda while waiting for our vegan mapo sloppy joes. Amazingly not made with tofu but eggplant and carrots (marry me please).

When it was all said and done I got a tahini latte.Truly a standout cafe.

I couldn’t wait to bring my wife here and it only took me 5 months to make it back to turners falls. 🔥

This place is so great. Food and ambience perfection. Cozy, creative, delicious and friendly, this little gem in Turners really cares about their customers and the food they bring to you. Everything we ordered tasted so wonderful we left wanting more and ready to return as often as possible. Best latte I've had in the Valley (really), and one of the best egg sandwiches I've ever eaten. The sauces and add ons take the already satisfying and tasty offerings to the next level. Love it.

Great place for a cup of coffee with friends. They have a unique assortment of menu items. The small biscuits with their jam are the best biscuits I've eaten. Given my love of biscuits and my southern Grandmother, this is saying something. It's a small place, cozy, and you can get refills on coffee if you run into people you know and happen to stay a bit longer than you'd intended. This is much appreciated! Lastly, stop by the bathroom...it's unique and laugh-out-loud funny.

One of my very favorite places for coffee and breakfast/lunch. The space is quirky and lovely and full of sun. The staff are sweet and the food is interesting and always delicious. Definitely get the biscuits!

Simply amazing! I live about an hour east and I make regular trips here with my wife for the coffee alone. It is so good! It is hands sorry the best coffee I've had in New England. The food is also amazing. I've enjoyed their breakfast items, baked goods and their salads and they are all amazing. The flavors in their dishes are delicate, complex and delicious! To top it off, the staff are friendly and service is fast! I would recommend this place to anyone especially those like me who love food and drinks that are crafted with passion and expertise from quality ingredients.

This place is absolutely phenomenal. Vegan leaning but doesn't even matter. Non percievable as an omnivore so like....vegan done right. The food is brilliantly conceptualized and executed within a cozy space by a friendly skilled staff. XO ham salad slayed my face, toasts are all great....biscuits and jam totally slaps. Possibly the best dressed, inspirational salads of all time...

These folks are just winners and everyone who eats there wins. I find myself checking the menu weekly when I get a day off so I don't miss any hits. Best restaurant in western mass. Tuna melt add chili crunch🤤.....

Turners Falls is so lucky to have such a wonderful cafe. Their pastries are amazing and often have unique combinations, like date+honey or PB+chips. They make a vegan egg scramble from pea protein/flour or something. It's the best and I've never found another restaurant that makes anything similar. The bread they use is always super fresh and tasty. I can't wait until they reopen so I can bring my laptop and work there!
