French King Restaurant and Motel

The Restaurant is what I'm reviewing: It has an old nostalgic New England Charm unsurpassed by any of the areas wonderous old properties. You will adore their Clam Chowder, and they have wonderful Seafood in general. Overall, I can not WAIT to head back to this gem :)

This has become our go to breakfast place. Their omelets are my favorite, with the option of homemade breads an added treat. Everyone in our party ends up happy with their varied menu and we all leave, knowing we don't need lunch. Thanks for working so hard to make it all work. We appreciate it. 😋

Come here often. Saturday for dinner sister had baked haddock; I had the prime rib and hubby had chicken parm with Angel pasta. I love a rare meat and the P.R. was perfect. Came back for breakfast the next day and again was great breakfast. Eggs hash bacon waffles country fries.

The location is perfectly located on Rte. 2. Plenty of parking. Staff friendly and prompt. If they have a function going on, the wait time might be a little slower but nothing major.

SUCH A GOOD RESTAURANT. I definitely recommend coming here. Food, service, environment is so amazingly good

My new favorite place to go for French Onion Soup and Prime Rib!! All the major chain restaurants have gone way down hill; prices way up, food quality, quantities and service way down. So Happy to have finally uncovered this hidden gem!! Inside is Beautiful which just adds to the experience. Our service was exceptional and I would be remiss if I didn't extend My Compliments to Chef Brian Prondecki, well done!! We will definitely be back very soon!!

Breakfast was excellent. Wait staff were polite and very accommodating. Food was delicious and hot. Prices were reasonable.

Food was great! Service was great despite challenges they communicated on the day. I would revisit in a heartbeat!!

Came across French King Restaurant on our way home from Vermont, this place is the true definition of a "Family" Restaurant. They were able to seat our party of 8 immediately. Service was great, food was delicious. It was so nice for a change to be in a 70 year Family owned business, who take pride in their food. Cant wait to go back and try breakfast!

I am happy that I finally went here. The interior is amazing with the great chairs and large tables. The food was delicious. I went on a Friday near noon and they only had 1 waitress but she was amazing dealing with all the patrons at that time. Parking is perfectly acceptable and you can get a quick look at the French king bridge. The only issue I had there was prior to arriving a large party came in immediately before so the food didn't come out as fast. I am looking forward to going back soon.

Super friendly owner! They make you feel like family. Cozy dining room with a fire place.

Stayed the night. Forest view out the back window. No buildings, cars or people. Clean room, nice tile floor in the bathroom. Hot water took forever to warm up, but the customary long hotel shower made up for it.

Place was packed for breakfast the next morning (Saturday). We were lucky to get a seat. Ordered up the giant chocolate chip pancake. Took a while to come out, understandable considering how busy it was. Pancake was just alright, but it sure was big! Couldn't even get through half. One buddy got an omelette and the other got the scrambled eggs breakfast. The omelette was like two inches thick! Loaded with meat too!

I'd recommend this place for food or a place to stay 👍

It's been years since I visited this restaurant & motel, but I have no complaints! Restaurant was lovely, great service & excellent food. Frank (owner back in the early 2000's) was a comical, friendly guy. Cozy atmosphere. Motel was well maintained & comfortable. Didn't get to try the pool, because it was Fall when we visited. Plenty of parking. Easy to locate, near the scenic French King bridge.

Seeing how this establishment has been there for almost 70 years & the owners Grandson waited on us, I have to say that it's a fabulous place to eat if your up in that area. My swissburger was cooked perfectly and my Fiance had no complaints about his.

My husband and I stayed at the motel and had breakfast at the restaurant. The service at the motel and restaurant was great. The room was nice and freshly re-done. The shower was awesome. Good water pressure, the water got hot and stayed hot for quite a while, and the shower head was so nice it was like getting a massage. The breakfast was soooooo good. My husband and I both got the hash Benedict and it was the best one I’ve had yet, which is saying something because that’s what I order everywhere. The hash was absolutely out of this world. Also pretty good coffee and we’re kind of coffee snobs.

Best omelet I ever had! Great atmosphere and excellent service! Food is top notch!!! Looking forward to see if they do Mothers Day Brunch🥰

This is a great place.
Has a fire place. If I remember correctly it's a see through fire place the goes into a separate lounge and bar area.
It's roomy inside so your not packed in.
Also in summer there's a deck.
Food is great.
When I was there they had live music.
I really like like going here.
I also like supporting my town business
I highly recommend .

The manager has absolutely fantastic customer service skills. She was sweet and accommodating. Anything I asked for was delt with with a smile and a fantastic attitude. The food is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this place.

Went their with my uncle today. Place is great, love the rustic country look with the warm fireplaces going. The owner is awesome, such a nice guy. The food was fantastic couldn't be better, our waitress was so nice as well, great atmosphere by all who work their. Most definitely coming back.

Amazing place top notch great place to get away for a little while n just chill. No hassle no frills, silence and peace of mind. Highly recommend. For any musician \artist a safe quiet environment to get away from the crowds. B kind to one's self n make the trip. D.o.s.tankski:)

They have a real fire place.
It's big inside so your not crambed in.
They have a separate bar lounge type area and the fire place is see through.
The food was awesome.
Owned by a family.
Have to check it out.
I recommend it.

A surprising gem! After getting turned around on a day trip across NH/MA scenery, I demanded my husband pull the car over so we could find a place to eat as we hadn't had food yet and were getting low blood sugar-level hangry. He pulled into a parking lot that we noticed was for this restaurant. I checked the online menu, the food looked like standard diner fare and the prices either meant it was going to be very good or very bad. It was great! Very kind staff, a warm seat by a working woodstove, and the dining room was big and open with a cozy tavern feel. The chocolate chip pancake was DIVINE, steak and cheese with fries was delicious, nothing particularly fancy about the meal but fantastic flavor and we ate every single bite. Our meal was cheaper than we're used to paying so we tipped 50% - I recommend making the stop next time you drive by!
