I’m so happy to have found Katie’s class. I am close to a yoga novice and have felt so much mental and physical benefit from it. I love the way that Katie talks about positioning the body—I can really understand the poses. And beyond the physical, I really love that Katie incorporates mindfulness into every session. I find her classes to be the perfect combination of mind and body and leave each one feeling renewed and relaxed.

Katie is literally the best yoga teacher I have ever had and I have been taking yoga for 30 years. Knowledgeable, experienced, kind & sensitive to individual needs. She quickly assesses people's abilities & limitations and takes you through exactly what is needed. I can't say enough about her and her teaching.

I've had the blessing of having taken 2 yoga classes with Katie at Build Yoga. She was attentive to all our individual needs and skills. She gently corrects and then explains why. Her classes are unique in that she incorporates nature and all its beauty. I literally felt like I was a leaf on the ground during one of her fall outside classes. Thank you Katie and I can wait to take another session.

I have taken different yoga classes around the area, Katie is my favorite teacher for several reasons. Katie's voice is soothing. She gives clear directions. She corrects posture. And lastly she is so grounded and kind. Highly recommend anything Katie offers!

If you are even thinking about taking a yoga class with Katie, you should just do it. She's an amazing teacher: inspiring, clear, fun, serious, and deeply attuned to her students and what they need. I love doing yoga with her. It's a profound workout and a great stretch and also something more human--like soul nourishment.

No matter what kind of day I've had, Katie always seems to know exactly what I need and provides a yoga experience unlike any other I've been a part of. I'll admit to not really having much of a yoga practice, but through Katie's classes, I have been able to integrate different poses throughout my day that make me more aware of my body in space, provide just the right movement, or encourage me to find the quiet focus I sorely need in that moment. Katie has a knack for being able to teach an entire class in a big space and still make it feel like she's there just for you. She intentionally takes the time to know those participating in her classes and designs the classes to meet our needs, even specifically cueing one or another of us on how to make the pose work better for us. Her understanding of body mechanics and how to help us mindfully adjust and move our bodies to get the most out of a pose is always appreciated. I highly recommend joining one of Katie's classes!

I have taken classes with Katie on and off for over 10+ years and I keep coming back. Why? Because she is wise and creative and warm, and she’s always deepening her own practice and sharing that with her students. Katie is a role model, not only as a practitioner of yoga and meditation, but of teaching, living, and loving. Four words for you: take her classes, people!

Katie has been teaching yoga in Amherst for many years, and I started practicing with her about 8 years ago. I have been to a few other classes before that, and I continue to return to her classes because they are a perfect balance of movement and meditation for me. She is a caring and knowledgeable instructor, and helps each person in her classes to get what he or she is looking for with the practice. I recommend these classes to either beginners or advanced yoga enthusiasts.

I have been studying with Katie for over 14 years. She is the best yoga teacher I have ever worked with. She individualizes to her student’s needs and knows how to guide each student with poses that are challenging or with poses that are difficult given individual physical limitations. I have learned so much from Katie. I appreciate her kindness and her sense of humor. I highly recommend Katie Shults. Give her class a try!

I have never taken a yoga class with a more down-to-earth, heart-full teacher than Katie Shults. As I am in my 60's with physical limitations who is not inclined to do yoga in skimpy spandex, I felt safe and supported to show up as myself and to go at my own pace. Katie creates an atmosphere of belonging and acceptance that makes me want to keep exploring yoga practice for myself. I am grateful for having found this wonderful teacher.

Katie makes me slow down. Using simple asanas and clear instruction, she expertly tweaks each pose, so it's safe for my body. Katie’s classes make me feel strong and energized, aware of how I am carrying my body and give me the knowledge of how to align my posture. I've studied yoga with Katie for years. She is a wonderful, thoughtful teacher. Her classes are carefully constructed around meaningful themes and always leave me with food for thought. Her verbal cues and gentle corrections are always right on target. When she took her classes online during the pandemic, I was able to continue to learn and progress. I have returned to her in-person classes, but recommend her online classes to anyone who can't attend in person.

I've taken yoga classes with Katie off and on for the past 25+ years and from the very first class until this last 6 week online series, I am always so delighted and thankful for the time spent practicing with her. Katie is the first yoga teacher, I have worked with, that "gets me" and takes the time to provide one-on-one support even in her larger classes. She is positive, grounded, motivating, and works with you from where you are with the goal of taking you further without forcing you past your limits. She is amazing and a true gift to anyone who is looking to start or improve their yoga practice.

Katie creates an uplifting, inspirational, supportive and fun class. She is super knowledgeable about the physical/technical aspects of the postures and also the philosophy and spirituality of yoga. I would take another class with her in a heartbeat.

Love, love, love Katie's classes. I joined Katie's "Yoga of Listening" online class at the recommendation of a friend. So glad I did. This six-week series was thoughtful, purposeful, and just what I needed to get out of a serious pandemic funk. I wish I lived closer and could take in-person classes, but the online format was great given the 3,000 miles and three time zones that separate us.

Working with Katie has made such a difference in the way I practice yoga!! I have been doing so for 15 years and have always assumed that I needed to spend an hour and half per session, or else there would be no value. Thanks to Katie and her 30 Day Yoga Challenge, I have now switched up my routine; 20 minutes a day and I am stronger and more consistent than I have ever been. I am so grateful!!
