Wicked Good Books

Best place in Salem to grab something new to read. Lots of local interest titles and conveniently located on the main drag by the museum.

I was a little sad to find out that Wicked Good books wasn't in the same spot anymore and was in with a toy store. But I still love bookstores and visit them frequently. They definitely have a smaller selection in this location but I was still ablet to find plenty of books I wanted!

I just love stopping into this shop when I'm in the area! The local interest displays never fail to catch my interest, and I always walk out of there with a new book for my collection. The friendly and welcoming staff are also always willing to help make the stop a lovely experience. I definitely recommend checking out this shop when you're in town!

We loved Wicked Good Books. Beautiful building. Well curated in a limited space. A good assortment of hardbacks, paperbacks, and Wicked Good Books swag. A must stop when you visit Salem. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend.

Fantastic book shop and great service, I emailed in advance to check stock and they held my books over till I got there.

Staff friendly and awesome. Have a great covid protocol for in and out. Great selection of books- you get a lot of bestsellers but a good deal of niche topics and local authors. And one of the cutest social distancing signs I've seen.

This is a cute little book store in Salem. It’s got a pretty good selection of new books and 3/4 wall of used books. It’s pretty tight, but most people are virtuous enough to get out of your way.

They have a few rules, all of which seem reasonable. No photography, leave your drinks at the door, and keep your mask on. The staff was friendly, chatty, and polite.

I love Wicked Good Books. It's one of my favorite places to visit in Salem. We would frequent the store when we lived in Salem, and we make every effort to stop by when we pass through Salem and have time to peruse new books. The staff is always friendly and a pleasure to talk to. The selection is great - I often find myself picking up presents about local history for my family based on their displays. And when something I want isn't in store, they help me special order the book. I've been trying to stay safe during the pandemic and stay in when I can, so I miss visiting the store in person. With the holidays coming up I plan to place orders through Wicked Good Books for gifts for others, and recommend them to friends and family if they need to order books as well.

What a great book shop. While they didnt have the one book I was looking for (i assume it was just sold out) I was able to find 2 others I didnt know I needed! Girls working the shop were super friendly and gave great customer service.
On a side note I completely disagree with the review below that this shop mostly offers paperbacks. The books I purchased were both hardcover, and the selection was VAST. from Horror, Sci Fi, Fantasy, Fiction and Non, the store offers what you would expect in Salem and then some. This is a small mom & pop, not Barnes & Noble, so do not expect to buy a coffee, sit and thumb through pages of a book you don't plan on buying. Expect to find some great reads that you can cozy up on the couch with!

This bookstore is very small but pretty well stocked. The clerk was very helpful and gave us a recommendation. And I got a very cute sticker with their black cat logo! Would visit again if in Salem.

I love shopping here and I wish I was downtown more often! Their service is wonderful and as a Salem resident I am thankful to have an independent bookstore in town. At the start of the pandemic they were very helpful in getting books shipped to my house. One of my favorite places to pick up Christmas Presents, they have a very thoughtful collection of puzzles.

Very cute and decently stocked little bookstore right in the heart of downtown. They had a healthy selection of witchy fiction and non fiction books if you’re looking for something to enhance your time in Salem.

We love our local bookstore! My toddler LOVES to read, and for my sanity we try to add to his book collection regularly. This is one of the only places I've felt comfortable bringing him during the pandemic, and we are both so grateful to have this little gem to visit regularly. There's always a great new pick for him to discover, and friendly and welcoming staff. Some days when we leave daycare he pulls me down the street for a visit!

Lovely little bookshop in the middle of downtown Salem. We love browsing their selection. My teens love the YA section and there are usually great used finds. As a Salem resident, I'm glad they are doing their part to enforce mask rules that unfortunately many tourists don't want to comply with. During the pandemic they've been great about taking email and phone orders so we don't have to deal with entitled tourists and still support this gem of a small business.

This independent bookstore is my favorite place to shop when I visit Salem. I love browsing through their great selection of books both new and used. The owner is very enthusiastic and helpful in selecting the perfect book. This is exactly the sort of independent bookstore I want to support. They are very committed to making their store a safe and comfortable environment.

I absolutely loved my visit ! The store was taking every single precaution to ensure I felt safe and comfortable while still being able to enjoy one of my favorite activities...supporting small book stores! I got two amazing new reads and I thank the staff of Wicked Good Books for there hard work and dedication at this time. ❤

I love this bookstore! The first time I visited Salem in 2015, this was the first store I visited. I have returned to Salem and this store ever since. Great selection, always something unusual and interesting, good local book selection, and fun gift items. WGB has my heart <3

Delightful bookstore. Happened in on a Sunday morning. Charming employee at the store showed us around and gave my son very nice recommendations. Very pleasant experience all the way through. Salem is a fantastic little town and this bookstore fits right in.
