Winter Island/Waikiki Beach

Winter Island is absolutely beautiful. This place is definitely one of the top sites around the Salem area to come and visit plus they also have camping. Their outdoor pavilion is perfect for any event, rain or shine. We just had our wedding near the end of September and this was the most perfect place for our Viking theme. The foliage is beautiful all around plus the water view and the covered arbor is breathtaking with its natural greenery and orange flowers. I felt like I was in a fairytale all day long. It rained the whole day of the wedding but the size of the pavilion was perfect to keep everyone dry and the lighting was bright enough well into the night. The function hall is really nice, it's on the smaller side and will probably hold about 60 people and with our wedding of about 80 people it was a little bit cramped due to the rain but well worth having both the function hall and the pavilion for a venue. The staff was incredible and extremely helpful and friendly the entire time. I highly suggest visiting or hosting a party at winter Island.

It's easy to 5 star the beach. They allow dogs in the off season months. I was told you can see whales and seals here from time to time. Nice little beach to check out 💗

Hidden gem. Gorgeous trails, neat little light house, among other things. I took my wife here on our honeymoon. It was the first time she saw the ocean. 10000/10.

We went in the morning when it was nice and cool and during low tide, it was also very quiet, felt like we had the whole island to ourselves besides a few locals we ran into! We were able to walk out pretty far and get some great shots of the lighthouse! We found some trails and explored the whole island. What a great morning. The lady at the front gate was very informative and super nice.

Great place if you want to pack your sandwich (or not 😁 ) and spend some time out. Couple of beaches and a lot of benches with great view and there is a little gazebo you can sit. Tent and RV campers obviously like the place I have seen many of them. Paid parking available.

Very lovely views. It was nice to get out and go down to the beach. Tide was low, and it was early spring on a weekday morning, so it was not busy at all.

camped here. it's very much a city experience in terms of light, noise, people, but also a nice blend of nature with the beach and sunset/sunrise and tribes of chaos causing raccoons. very convenient place from which to explore the city.

Local campground.RV and tent setup some sites have power others do not .great front office.nice Playground for the kids ,offers grill on site ,clean beach excellent for collecting shells,24hr shower & bathroom.pets welcome on leash.local wildlife racoons and skunks so food goes back in car at night. Must bring in your own firewood and no ground fires permitted. Might see a wedding or two.had a wonderful time with a great group of people

Went here to pass the time until the Salem Witch Museum opened. It was the first time my kids got to experience the ocean, they loved watching the boats. Enjoyed the tide pools with crabs, snails, clams. Even though the water was cold we even waded in the water. It was beautiful and stunning! I wanted to see a lighthouse and my husband found this one, so very glad he did, we have an amazing memory from there!

Location was perfect, easy walk to downtown Salem and easy to catch the ferry to Boston.
The manager (I think his name is mark?) and his entire staff was super nice!

Very enjoyable, uncrowded, camp, Rv-ing options. Small beach on site, with bathrooms near by, large park to walk about, water access and views. Would definetaly park my RV here and drop my boat in for the weekend. But also great just for site seeing and a stroll or a beach day!

Awesome! We camped right near the ocean, swam all day, showered at night, had a campfire, it was nice and quiet, no loud campers when we stayed. Just don't leave any food out at night the racoons stole our marshmallows 😂

Cost $10 to get in to swim and explore Ft. Pickering. It was a lot of fun climbing the rocks and investigating the area and sea creatures. There is a lifeguard on duty in one swimming area along with a bathhouse and rinse station. There's a place to dock and camping sites in the area as well. Swimming can be done in other numerous areas without a lifeguard.

Great place to put your boat in take kayak out. Or camp motor home parking to or enjoy Sandy Beach I found it to be very nice .public bathroom and charged by vehicle.

Truly a hidden spot to explore- tons of benches to sit down and enjoy the sea, meander around the boatyard during winter or launch your boat in season.

Beautiful location to go for a relaxing time. There is an open area to walk around. It is right by the water and have beautiful views all around. There is plenty of parking and people can sit in their car and enjoy the view. There also is a lighthouse. In the summers, camping is allowed here. Beautiful area for a picnic, camping, hike, bike ride and a leisure walk.

Great price great people people people were so nice fellow campers were clean quiet courteous it courteous couldn't ask for a better place to spend a week I personally would live there if I could
