The owner of the museum is incredibly knowledgeable on the Ouija board, to include its history, lore, & how pop culture affects our perceptions of the board. He’s very open & gregarious when giving his presentations & I learned a lot during my visit. I was super excited to see they had the witch board from Charmed! I highly recommend you stop by during your trip to Salem!

John, the curator was so funny and genuinely passionate about his collection!! My group and I all had an absolute blast listening to him teach about the lesser known history of the “Ouija” board and his own personal experiences with them as a collector. His collection is IMPRESSIVE. He has everything from original talking boards to memorabilia from the makers and a growing collection of cursed boards that people mail to him as a last effort to rid themselves of them. (Each with cool stories!) We did several tours in Salem today but we all agreed as soon as we left that this was our fav.

Popped in to this quaint little exhibit on a whim as we were exploring the area before a walking tour, and I'm glad we did. Hundreds of Ouija boards from the museum owner, John's, personal collection on display, and a fascinating history retold by John himself, as well as a few chilling stories surrounding donated boards and the desperate attempts to part with them from previous owners. A unique and worthwhile visit while in Salem.

Though small this was my favorite place that I visited while in Salem! The owner was so friendly and engaging! He had so much knowledge and many stories to share! You can tell that he is doing what he loves and is incredibly passionate about it! There is a lot to learn here and I loved that I could take pictures of the exhibits! I’ve always loved Ouija Boards so finding a museum about them was a major highlight to my trip!

You enter into a small shop with a mix of Harry Potter and witchy items. For a small fee, you can go into the back two rooms which have ouija boards on display on the walls and in display cases. It’s the largest collection in the world with a huge variety of antique and modern boards on display. The owner provides an oral presentation of the history of the boards and how the perception of the board has changed over the years. He was well informed and was courteous to the fact that one child was in the room. The rooms were good sized so our group of 5 fit comfortably with good lighting, temperature, no noise, and lots of room to browse. It was not rushed at all and we were encouraged to stay and look around as long as we wanted. The owner, his staff, and the 3 other adults in our group were very friendly and we had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend visiting!

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the witch board museum. Bucky walked us through all the history and stories. She was so kind and so educated on all the back stories. It was a really awesome exhibit and I’d definitely recommend popping in to see it when you’re visiting Salem.

Had a private tour with John who is the most engaging, passionate, and knowledgeable guide we’ve ever encountered! He actively encouraged questions throughout our tour and shared a wide range of interesting information ranging from personal experiences and discoveries to facts and the history/origins of witch boards. We learnt so so much and found this experience much more enriching than the other 2 Salem Witch museums we visited 😊 highly highly recommended! Please add this to your itinerary if you’re visiting Salem. Plus points that it was affordable at just $10 per admission + photos were encouraged. John, if you’re reading this, thanks for your time! We truly enjoyed your stories. Keep doing what you do!

I had so much fun here! I'm a collector and John, the owner showed me many unique boards and their stories. Also, the person working admission was super friendly. Turns out we have a love for the band Ghost and that led to a great conversation.

On vacation in Salem we visited here. It’s a super small area for a museum.

It seemed like a much bigger area due to the guide present who on a whim told folks present history about the items present.

His flair and love for the material was evident. When someone is talking to me I try to make eye contact but in this case I wanted to look at the items while he spoke. Hearing the history he told us while we looked at the different pieces was really amazing. One of my fav stops in town.

John, the curator, and whose collection is presented (at least some of it, anyway, as apparently he has too many boards and so will change them out from time to time), is perhaps one of the most knowledgeable, if not THE most knowledgeable individual, when it comes to Ouija Boards, their special model rarities, and their history. It was a true joy to interact with the man behind the idea. So much so that I actually visited twice within a two day span. Once for myself, and the second to bring a friend (because she just had to see all these incredible pieces). We spoke with John for at least a good hour if not longer. His was simply a fountain of information, all of it surreal as he was engaging. Will definitely visit again. After all, how else will I see his other boards??

This has been one of the most enjoyable visits during my stay in Salem. Whether you are a skeptic or not, you will be captivated by John’s (the owner) stories and his telling of the history of ouija. He very clearly loves the boards and that made for a wonderful experience when learning about them. I mean the whole thing is his own collection, and there is a little story behind each one and how he was able to get it. I love to see exhibits that are created from passion and it shows once you set foot into the museum. I look forward to seeing more and can hopefully pay a visit sometime again.

This was one of our last and favorite stops in Salem! The museum has an amazing collection of boards and related memorabilia, and John is an excellent guide through it all. He was charming and knowledgeable and obviously delighted to teach about the history. Very fascinating place! And I love my new hoodie. 🥰

While in Salem, I hit most of the touristy things and this was by far the most memorable. When I entered the place I hesitated because the museum it's on the back of a store and looks small. But John came out and I was in!
I was the only one there at the time and he gave me as great a tour he would to a group. He took his time and answered all my questions. Who knew that a little board could have so much history? Best ten bucks I spent in Salem!

One of the only, if not only museum that lets you take pictures which was cool! It is small, however the owner? I think, the guide had so many cool facts about everything. The staff was amazing in general, but I really enjoyed this. It’s only $10 and maybe 15-30 minutes of looking. Definitely add this to your itinerary if you’re in Salem!
