The Mugford Eatery

Adorable place! I had a whole milk latte and a Boomer breakfast sandwich on a croissant (2 eggs, avocado, sriacha mayo, and cheddar cheese). It was perfectly toasted, hot and soft in the middle, and delicious! The photo is half of the sandwich.

Have eaten here several times under the new management. My experience was much better than the others' -- I especially love the delicious breakfast taco with a chorizo base and lots of goodies inside, at a very reasonable price. I also tried the "breakfast salad" which was pleasantly surprising (surprising because I don't usually think of a salad in the a.m. but it was quite good). I agree that sometimes service can be a bit spotty. Coffee also good.

This place is new and also great. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the owners involved and gracious and the staff is professional and friendly. Marblehead needed an unpretentious coffee cafe to replace the loss of the Atomic and Mookies shiraz that and more

Great coffee! Strong, and wakes you right up. Love the pastries, parfets, and hot breakfast items.

Such a great place!

Came in a little over a month ago for lunch. Figured I'd see how the folks who took over this space were doing. Well in a nutshell they're failing. I ordered coffee (the only really good thing I had today), grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. My order took WAY too long to get to me. They weren't busy and considering how poor the food was it's not due to them preparing the food with care. My grilled cheese was on the grill too long so the bread was burnt, not grilled. The soup probably would have made a good spaghetti sauce, but it sure wasn't soup. Normally I like to put pepper in my tomato soup, but there was no salt or pepper on any of the tables (oddly enough each table had ketchup and hot sauce though). I didn't see any in the area where one picks up silver ware. It's also odd that the customers need to bus their own silverware and plates (and the staff doesn't empty the trays that the silverware etc are put in enough). So in summary, their coffee is good, but I really wish that the old owners hadn't sold the restaurant (at least Mugford Eatery is better the The Rockhopper, but that's not saying much).

Went in today to get a little breakfast sandwich and to check out how new owners were running the spot. We ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches and a coffee, and a croissant on the side. The woman behind the counter was very friendly but was kind of all over the place. Line built up behind us as little things got forgotten (small thing but heating croissant). Not until we got home did we find that our breakfast sandwiches were completely wrong - actually every part of them was different or wrong from what was asked. Wrong style eggs, cheese when we asks for none and the meats were all misarranged across the two sandwiches ( one had all the meat we asked for, the other had none, still not sure why this happened). After it all they sandwich was just...ok. I don't think we'll return as we can understand small process things up front but the food portion is hard to.
