Good culinary job training program, highly reccomend if you are planning on entering the foodservice industry or would like to learn how to cook for yourself.

You'll definitely want to hit up the cafe in the AM when they put their fresh baked goods. They also produce a lot of their own products. If you find any their speciality granola bars called Har Bars pick them up. They are SOOO good!

Highly recommend Root for catering needs. Our Salem Spirits Trolley contracted Root for one of our corporate team programs, ordering a selection of sandwiches, wraps and salads for approx 35 guests on board the Trolley as their lunch. Everything was done exactly as ordered and with care, including making sure folks with allergies were accommodated. We were thrilled to hear "BEST salad I've had in a long time!" "Those sandwiches were delicious!" "That was a great lunch, thank you!" We will definitely work with Root again for our special Salem Food Tours and Salem Spirits Trolley excursions and more.

Root provided a delicious dinner for 35 which I ordered but actually it was twice as much as needed (great leftovers) and absolutely delicious ....a great variety so that every varied individual - the gluten-free the non-gluten-free; the vegan, the non-vegan; the dairy free, the cheese.overs .... you name it everyone was satisfied and delighted!. Thank you so much Caleb and Sam and Chris and the teen chefs for helping make our big family gathering completely savory and sweet!.

Root North Shore provided a delicious, hearty, healthy meal for our holiday party, The New Garden Society. Not only did the food taste great, but the portions were also generous and beautifully presented. Thank you to the ROOT team for making our New Year celebration joyous and nourishing.

Amazing place to work. To anyone that hasn't got a job, or is looking to get some experience in the culinary industry to get a job, this is the place for you. The staff are super friendly and amazing. Every day is a new experience and you do something new every single day. On top of just cooking, they help you create a resume, understand more about finances and money spending, and they even make sure you get your ServSafe allergen awareness and ServSafe food handling certifications. They also take you to get a Mass ID if you don't have one and you want one, and they cover it as well as transport you there to fill out the paperwork needed. It is 100% worth it to come here.

I was just recently at root Cafe. The food is spectacular. Drink was amazing. And their service was tremendous. It is an immaculate environment. Staff is very friendly and patient. I will definitely return soon
