The Back Eddy

We were given a gift certificate for The Back Eddy. We drove 2 hours to get there, but it was worth it. It is very pricey, but worth the money. The food is fresh, cooked exactly how you want it, and served with a smile. The location is right on the water. There is outdoor seating, and a dock for standing on as you wait. Of course the seafood is fresh and prepared perfectly, but the steak was cooked on a wood fire with Bleu cheese butter. The deviled eggs from hell are do creamy and spicy and delicious! A must try item. Our server stayed on top of keeping our drinks filled and was very good at recommending meals. Worth the drive and the money. It's a bit loud for a first date, but a second date would work out just fine here. 😀

Certainly a upper scale spot off the coast. Ordered the 1.5 pound lobster entree along with The fresh Salmon. Couldn't have asked for a better experience or more of a fabulously crafted taste. Nothing under done nor over the top

First time here and had a great time. Beautiful water views, delicious food, great service. Took my dad out for Father's Day and everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Our waitress, Mary Jane, was so polite and attentive. We'll definitely be back again!

Beautiful restaurant, location is right on the water. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and a dock for standing on as you wait with a cute bar that you can get drinks and enjoy the views while you wait for your table. The bar (I don’t know if separate from the restaurant only accepts cash) You can get there by boat or car. My husband and I had a lovely dinner. The food was delicious. The waitress was nice, was always checking on us and smiling. She brought extra bread without was even asking as if she had read my mind. The house pickles are delicious and I don’t even like pickles. We arrived at the right time to catch a beautifully sunset. We got there around 7:50pm. Looking forward to come back.

Food was great. Servers were very friendly. We sat out on the dock. Was amazing.

Great experience-food was hot and plentiful and all courses timed perfectly. We had chowder and shrimp for appetizers, fish and chips, ribeye, burger and mussels for meals. French fries were off the hook and the bowl of pickles made my day!!! Got to watch a great sunset over the water and boats. Cannot wait to go back!!!

We loved our late lunch! It’s family friendly with a great atmosphere. I got the steak and my husband got the swordfish steak, we split our meals - I don’t know which was better. The deviled eggs were amazing !

Can't beat the view of the ocean and boats. They have a small bar and seating outdoors or you can sit and get full service indoors and still see the views. The food was much better than 2 years ago when we last visited. The clam plate was excellent, the swordfish was excellent, and the lobster roll was good. Service and atmosphere is very good.

Came here on a recommendation and it did not disappoint! Had the scallops and they were lightly breaded and tasted excellent. A friend has the lobster roll and it was just as a good! The atmosphere is great and the views are outstanding. Should definitely visit!

This is a special place. Food is plated so beautifully it draws you in and doesn’t ever disappoint. Staff are invested in making your night memorable. Go there!

Ok I had to leave a review for this gem of a restaurant. As others have mentioned great service and food. One should defo visit if you are in the beach or even happen to pass by. Great for families and wait time is manageable, since you walk around and enjoy the view while waiting.

Came to the Back Eddy on a recommendation and it exceeded our expectations! Drinks were great, the outdoor bar was cool! Watching the boats dock was fun! We ordered the appetizer special of Wood Smoked Ribs on a bed of Blue Cheese Slaw. The aroma was mouthwatering!
Fried Scallops were amazing!!! Sweet and succulent, just the right size portion with a side of their hand cut French fries with garlic, Parmesan and parsley with garlic aioli!
My husband had the South Carolina Backyard Barbecue. So tasty!!!! Loved the homemade baked beans!!!
Dessert was was an incredible fudgey mousse with raspberry sauce. Perfect ending for a perfect meal!!!

Spent a lovely birthday Sat at the beach and finished it off with a cocktail on the back deck, beautiful day/view!

Amazingly fresh seafood. Great service. Hands down thur best fried clams I've ever had. A must visit.

It's in my hometown so I'm a little biased, but it is very nice here and the food is top notch.

Visit with my entire family. Food was great. Great tasting lobster.
Ordered a couple of mimosas, that didnt taste good. So we ordered a bottle of sparkling wine and did our own.
Prices were good too.

We went early on a Saturday and found seats at the bar. It's a lively, loud, friendly atmosphere & I love it! Drinks were good, shrimp cocktail was amazing!! 🦐
For dinner I had the fried scallops & they were so good I can't wait to go back and get them again. The scallops were so lightly breaded it was as if they weren't even fried. French fries are handcut, the best!! Hubs had the fish & chips and loved it. It's kind of pricey, but worth it.

Stunning sunset views from the back. We had a girls night at Horseneck beach and stopped in here to extend the fun. Our server was very patient with us. The oysters were very fresh and delicious. The sauce for the mussels should be it's own dish. So good. The hockey fries are a must and dessert was good too (banana split).

Absolutely love Sal, the crew and my younger cousin was my host. Taylor is a great cuz and a great young lady ❤❤👍👍

The obky knock i have on this place is that it is loud inside. Granted we had a group of 20 people, but there is a lot of noise as well. They have spund dampeners as well. Scenery is beautiful. It's easy to get to. Ample parking. And the food is so so so so good. Fresh and delicious. Service was incredible as well. I don't think i had to ask for another water, they just kept coming around and filling glasses.
