It’s been well over 25 years since I’ve had breakfast here and it’s just as good as I remember it. The omelettes are always amazing the Norwegian pancakes are to die for!! 😋

#wheninnewbedford it was our first time here -love the coffee, egg Benedict and the blueberry pie is to die for. We had our 2nd try but they were closed - it was a Tuesday. I wonder why😌?

This is a favorite stop when in the area, even if it requires an extra 20 minute detour. Friendly casual atmosphere and delicious fare. Pictured is my delicious ratatouille lunch.

Delicious food. Norwegian Pancakes are hands down. The waitress was all alone that day but she was still the friendliest person even though she was running around. Definitely can't recommend this place enough.

This was the first time I've ever been there. It's a quaint little place, up the street from board the ferry that takes you to Martha's Vineyard. I can't remember the name of the woman who served us, but she was wonderful. The food was very delicious!!! I will definitely go there again!!

Creative menu with excellent (yummy!) final results. My husband and I both enjoyed our lobster pasta and baked/breaded haddock. The pricing was comparably cheap; particularly for the quality and originality of plate combinations. Everything was simply fresh and delicious and in a cozy setting!

Comfort food at a comfortable price. Local place...locals know it well. A hidden gem. Fish and chips...I substituted for the great mashed potatoes. Big portion. Some of the best fish and chips you'll ever eat.
Laid back casual place. Started as someone's home way back ...might have been a local general store at one time.
Definitely a different dining experience. Plenty of parking. Nice staff.
Put it on your destination agenda.

I'm hesitant about posting this review because it might become too popular and over crowded. Waitstaff and chefs are consistently outstanding. My go to meal is the fish and chips, and the price is unbeatable. I've been dining here for years, haven't had a bad meal yet. They pay close attention to minor details, it's the little things that make a good meal great. If you love seafood, there's no other place to consider.

Outstanding lunch menu! The Chowda is wicked good, each and every time. Fish n Chips are a great choice but, there are many other great choices too. The staff is friendly too. Get there early, cause it fills up quickly!

There are some places that you go to once and you remember forever. Fifteen years ago while vacationing near Fairhaven, MA, Margaret’s restaurant was recommended to us for dinner. We were told, “You’ll love it!” We did! Now when we make our four hour drive out to Cape Cod we try often to swing 30 minutes out of our way to get to Margaret’s. This week we got there for lunch as we were leaving the Cape and had a wonderful meal. One of our orders was the Tequila Shrimp special and the other was Maple Bacon Grilled Scallops. Both terrific, gourmet food at affordable prices! As we have always known it, Margaret’s is BYOB. Margaret’s, as with many restaurants, is in the middle of recovering from last year. They are well on their way! If you don’t get to Margaret’s, its sister restaurant Elizabeth’s is right next door and it is wonderful too!

The food was delicious. In town visiting family and friends, we are all up to trying new restaurants that we find on places to eat in different areas when visiting. The service great. Nice server, very friendly. I tried the crab blt and it was great and my dessert was delectable. The pistachio creme cake. Ah' mazing!

We had one of the best dinners in the New Bedford/Fairhaven area. It's a pity they're only open for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays.

Service was excellent. The food was incredible. Tasty, well prepared and large portions. Mostly Portuguese.

Two heads up: (1) It's BYOB. (2) It was a bit loud. Arrive early if you're interested in a (relatively) quiet dinner.

On Wednesday Sept. 21st, I brought an artist friend from Singapore for lunch at Margaret's. We immediately ordered clam chowder; then, while looking over the menu, I suggested we share an order of baked scallops. She was reluctant, saying she had eaten scallops in Singapore, but agreed after I explained to her the importance of scallops to New Bedford.
We were both pleased with the chowder, then the scallops came out. Included were fresh cooked string beans and mashed potatoes. She was amazed with the scallops, saying they melted in her mouth. The entire meal was delicious.
After finishing, she asked for an order of chowder to go so she could give it to the person whose home she was staying at. Then, when we got in the car, she told me that this was one of the 3 or 4 best meals she has ever had in her life.

Went to Fairhaven to get new running rigging to my sailboat and was surprised by the great food at Margarets Restaurant.

We had scallops, which were terrific, I still dream about them. But all other plates were similarly wonderful. Service was as great as the food.

When in Massachusetts, it is worth the visit.

Yummiest food "evah"! New Bedford scallops at their best, offeredd along with many delicious alternatives. Especially enjoyed the back room -- a little quieter.

They are great for breakfast too.

Absolutely love Margaret's...It's our favorite restaurant in the area. I miss it terribly since it's been closed for Dinners due to covid. Can't wait for it to open again. Love Elizabeth's also, but it's not open for Dinners either .
