We stopped in to view the Lizzie Borden family gravesite. It is a well jeot cemetery. Finding the Burden family site is easy. Just go in the main gate...travel straight down the drive. As soon as the drive bends to the right, the Borden Family monument and graves are on the mound to the right on the first curve. You will most likely see Lizzie's well decorated gravestone with orange and black flowers and other momentos. Definitely stop in and see. Super easy to locate!

Came here directly after leaving a tour from the Borden House! It’s a nice cemetery and seemed well kept! There are markers on the driving path so that you can easily find the Borden family graves. I ran into many locals who were walking their dogs or just taking strolls through the grounds and everyone was super friendly! (One man told me he’d never seen someone bring their own axe before and got a good laugh out of it 🤦🏻‍♀🤣). Aside from the Bordens there are also other interesting and unique headstones and monuments to be found throughout the cemetery! A very peaceful and nice place to visit!

We went to the cemetery to find the Borden family plot. Since we are from out of town, it was nice to see that they market the road leading up to the grave site which made it very easy to find the graves and not disturb others. We had a limited amount of time before we headed back to Providence, Rhode Island to catch our flight home and this was a quick and easy stop. We have a longer/full review on our blog site and YouTube channel.

My friend an I had a creepy experience: My friend and I had just come from the Lizzie Borden house to see the Borden family graves. At the Lizzie Borden house a black cat was sitting on the porch which was really weird. While my friend and I were at the grave we both heard slight singing at the same time, it was a soft tune that only lasted a few seconds. I looked at her and asked if she heard it to, she replied with “yea...the singing” Even creepier that we were also on the phone with someone while at the cemetery and the phone was very staticy and breaking up, and snapchat wasn’t working for both of us like they didn’t want their graves to be recorded. We know for sure the music wasn’t our phones and nobody else was around at the time. We ended up looking up Lizzie Borden songs and one of them were very similar to the tune we had heard at the graves. For the rest of the day everything was off and weird.

It's nice, but could be better and should be. Oak Grove should be a destination point for the city but it almost looks like a forgotten grave yard with the bad grass and dead trees and cracked roads. Even Lizzie's grave is often missed by tourists because it's just kind of there the with only a string of arrows pointing you towards it that were painted over 20 years ago. There's not even a sign saying what the arrows are for. If you don't know and aren't from the area you would probably think it's a one-way for cars.

I recommend going, but I also recommend a face-lift for the cemetery. It also sucks that the actual Oak Grove entrance is always closed now. It's dated nature has charm though and has been the backdrop for every local metal band to take their first band photos in.
