This is a quiet spot just north outside of Great Barrington. It is located on route 7 heading north before you get get to Monument mountain preserve.
Pull in and take a moment to pause and take in the pond while you look for birds, beavers, and more. There are walking paths that are easy strolls but can be damp.

I think it would be a great idea for greenagers to put a trail to the back side of the pond an place a few picnic table for the bird lovers out there and the walkers/hickers and whomever.
I think it would be an ever better thing if the director of greenagers saw this, got together with mr.smitty pignatelli and made it happen.😁🙏

I love MA state parks. Well marked, easy to find and follow.This was a nice trail. Good short day hike. Good part of it has extended inclines but not too steep. Hiked with my pup Roxy. Keep in mind this state land has hunting year round, so keep your dogs near. I just wish there was a part of the trail that looped back around to the pond. I started at the pond and came out at the recreation center.

Great park to hike all year. In the summer bring copious bug spray and in the winter bring a solid pair of boots.

Great little area for a short walk or a long hike. Beautiful views and peaceful surroundings. Picnic tables near the parking area for relaxing, and one not far from the pond.
