The Standard Covington

We stumbled upon this restaurant after a visit to the zoo. We are staying in Kentucky for a week on vacation and have ventured into Ohio twice. This is the best meal we've had the entire trip. My wife loved her rice bowl with chicken. I tried it. It's very good but also spicy. I had the Banh mi sandwich which was also good. The meat was a little tough to bite through but not terribly so. Still a good flavor and texture. The potato skins were just ok.
The staff was very helpful and friendly.
No complaints other than the parking situation is a bit tight but manageable.
Definitely go give it a try if you are in the neighborhood.

Food was delicious, had the Banh Mi sandwich and Rice Bowls with chicken. Grandkids had a good time playing games. If your into trains the elevated rail approach to the C&O railroad bridge is next to the building.

My wife, son, and I went for Sunday brunch. The food was AMAZING, and well priced! Service was friendly and the food came fast even though the had plenty of customers. My wife and I got cold brew martinis. I got the goetta, egg, and cheese. The bun was sooo good (and everything else). My wife got the pulled pork hash. My son got the kids burger. Everything was delicious and fresh and hot. I feel like I’m just repeating myself at this point.

I only got a picture of my drink because the food was so good, I forgot to take some. The drink was good too, though!

As a person who spent 13 yrs in the restaurant business it's difficult to impress me with food and atmosphere. The Standard IS that restaurant. If you are familiar with the old Standard Oil service stations this place will feel familiar. The decor is amazing with old tires on a shelf above the bar; reminiscent of the old tire racks. The chandelier's are amazing. The food TOP NOTCH, a difficult food to make is an eggs Benedict and if you want to impress me then this is the meal, HOWEVER this is not your typical Eggs Benedict this one had brisket and WAS AMAZING, very juicy great flavor, eggs where poached to perfection. Also our group ordered French Toast which is WAY better then any chain breakfast restaurant. Chicken and Waffles BETTER then Taste of Belgium. Staff was friendly overall atmosphere amazing WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK

Super cute garage-themed bar in downtown Covington. We didn’t try the food this time but the brunch menu looked good. Plenty of local beers on tap including Braxton. Easy walking from Main Strasse. There was live music going on outside, and the garage doors to the bar were open since it was nice out.

I always enjoy coming to the Standard for brunch! The renovated garage is full of mechanical art, leaving you with plenty to view and enjoy. Servers are friendly and quick, cocktails are tasty. Chicken nuggets are out of this world 🚀

What a gem! We went here on a Sunday and had brunch. My husband got the Benedict and I got the breakfast burger. Both were melt in your mouth good. The burger was fantastic. The place is very cute and eclectic inside and outside with yard games outside. Service was excellent and fast—we will definitely be back!

Great place. Atmosphere and overall setup is so unique and chill.
My friend and I brought our dogs and the first thing the waiter did was make sure everyone had cups and bowls of water. The food was great. Service for refills was not so good, I did have to wait for a decent bit between refills. Waiter was nice and friendly. Would definitely go back.

Great food. I loved the deviled eggs especially. I really enjoyed their cocktails also. Cool decor and environment. I ate all the other deviled eggs before deciding to take a pic lol

An excellent meal, in an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere, with 80's music playing for the win.
We had the fried chicken sandwich with onion rings, and the Standard burger with french fries. Both meals were delicious and worthy of their $12 price tag.
We will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

We only got drinks, this time! but we love The Standard in every way. Excellent food, staff & atmosphere! The summer is the absolute best time to go here-sit outside in downtown Covington & listen to some live music! The family who owns & operates this place & several other DT restaurants is super sweet & provide excellence!

This restaurant is mainly just a really cool outdoor spot in Covington that has all the bases covered as far as American type cuisine. I got a chicken thigh sandwich that was fried really well with a delicious pineapple topping. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a casual hangout

Terrific, friendly service in a playful, relaxed atmosphere. We had a hearty bowl of perfectly spiced vegetarian chili. Good selection of current music playing in the background at a quiet enough level to enjoy the music but still have conversations.
Only frustration is they charge 27% more for a veggie burger than regular.

I'm not a drinker at all, but I tried the Saltwater Cruise🍹...and was really amazed how great it tasted. The bartenders were very friendly. I MIGHT! have one drink per year...this was that one drink and next year I will return for my next "one drink". Thanks Guys...my drink was great and so were you all🍹.

This place is eclectic, fun, and hip! Loved the staff here - super nice and let me show them pics of my cat! They made us a gummy bear margarita, which was delicious and reasonably priced. The whole space, both inside and outside, is just so cool.

Good food and staff were great. The location is unique and fun with outdoor seating, and a mechanics garage theme.

This is a must try! The menu is small but all three things we tried were amazing. The flank steak had the best blend of flavors that I have tasted. The bourbon slush brought a smile to my wife's face. Chicken tenders are a very special treat. Happy eating!

AMAZING FOOD. 10/10. Cool atmosphere, great service, wonderful Kentucky mule…But above all—the fries were incredible. My husband and I could not get over how delectable the fries were. Perfect. Crispy. Definitely going to come back!

Our lunch was delicious. We ate outside (doggy friendly) and I had the chili, wedge salad and a slush. Nice vibe.
