Mike was a pleasure to work with and has to be one of the most knowledgeable luthiers in Tucson. Highly recommended!

So, not only did Mike succeed where another luthier had failed with one of my guitars, but Mike went above and beyond. He effectively resolved the issues I had brought into his shop, and It could have ended there with me as a very happy customer. But he set up the fix so that we can easily make adjustments should I feel further need to and then he'll make it permanent. He doesn't just want you to be happy, he wants to make sure you have the best solution. Mike's a very competent professional, he obviously loves what he does, he cares about his customers, he's a pleasure to work with, and I could not recommend him more highly.

Mike provides great service and is a helluva nice guy. He did a setup on one of my guitars. Aside from getting the intonation perfect, he did some extras including a great fret polish job as well. He knows his stuff & is very professional. 5 stars and an absolute recommendation.

Mike asks all the right questions before he begins any repairs and then makes suggestions as to what he believes will bring out the most of your instrument. Needing a partial fret replacement on my Taylor acoustic Mike went on and adjusted the neck also along with a good cleaning. The stainless steel frets and all other work Mike performed made playing my guitar even more enjoyable than it had been. Thanks Mike!

My husband is a former producer. Now he's an enslaved husband, who needed to sell his guitar collection in order to pay some bills. In replacement, he found an old 1960s guitar that needed a lot of work. He searched everywhere for a capable luthier, who was up for the job and found an amazing one — "Mike" at the Luthier's Bench in Tucson. The guitar is being worked on as I type, and I haven't seen my husband this excited since our little boy was born two years ago. After meeting with Mike and planning-out the guitar's resurrection, my hubby re-discovered his passion — the Luthier's Bench is not only breathing life back into that old axe! I'm not a musician, but still . . . I can't wait to see and hear the final result. We have complete confidence that the Vox Meteor is in MORE than capable hands, and we're grateful! I will have my musical half write a more complete review upon completion of the project. So far . . . 5-star!!!

I lived in Tucson for 8 years and used Mike Cutler/Luthier's Bench exclusively. Now I live out of state and send him my guitars. I have not found a luthier anywhere in my travels that I would rate 5 out 5 on technical/practical expertise as well as 5 out of 5 on customer service/attitude except for Mike. Do yourself a favor and take your guitars (and basses) to him.
