New Vallarta Taqueria & Mexican Seafood

I got the aguachiles mix and the large cantarito. The aguachiles were good, but they were absolutely too spicy! I'd had them before this time and I'm not sure what it was, but they were just too hot. I think next time, I'll just stick to ceviche. All their seafood is really good! The mojarra frita is also really good. The cantarito was very refreshing. Service was fast and friendly, I will say though. It was Friday night and they had a mariachi, so I would be wary of that if you want to actually sit down and talk over dinner.

My food was wrong, but it was easier to keep it and eat what I was served, it was tasty. It was ordered in Spanish, she just was more interested in the corner table... my son said he thought it was the owner. I've eaten there 5 or so times. I just think it was mainly the server had an off day.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating and hospitable. And the food was fresh and very good.

Because of my job I travel all over the US and even over seas sometimes. At the moment this place is definitely top 5. From the music and staff to the food and facilities, everything is great here. If you are in Louisville you have to try this place out at least once.

Yes, you want to eat here. I've attached a picture of the six pack with shrimp, v crab, avocado, etc. It's as glorious as it looks. So far I haven't been disappointed by anything I've ordered from tacos, tortas, soups, and entrees.

See food, very good. Price a litle high, but its ok.ti me..because looks and tastes like really Mexican food. And while your within the service, you can see,beutiful lady's who attending the customer's. And smiling ...that is important to me. You know at hard work day,beutiful smiling 😃.

The food here is delicious. I ordered nachos locos and maaaaan it was delicious. Finally a restaurant that DOES NOT add vinegar jalapenos. I would come back for sure.

This place causes a dilemma for me and it's not right, fair or just. Let me lay it out for you: I adore authentic, non americanized Mexican food. I'm also whiter than a flour sack, but I grew up in a place (Southern California) where I could get and appreciate this genre of food, and whenever I find a place around here that dares to not conform to the crowd that thinks places like el nopal are "authentic" it gets popular and some people around here don't appreciate the delicious authentic food and cause a dilemma for the restaurant, either "americanize" the food to cater to the new crowd, or risk negative reviews based on the misconception of the typical area customers. Most have conformed, or gone out of business, meaning the search for great authentic Mexican food must begin again.

See my problem now? I knew this place had potential when I walked in and saw a Mariachi band playing to an audience of families enjoying amazing looking meals together. I'm also quite sure that I was the only person who didn't speak fluid Spanish, though that did not cause a problem in getting what I wanted. I saw many great seafood dishes, things I hadn't seen in a long time.
I ended up ordering a standby dish, chili verde, because it is almost always on mexican food menus, and it almost always isn't very good because to make it correctly take a lot more effort than an American Mexican food place will do. Done correctly though, (meaning the green chile sauce is prepared freshly in house, and the meat is slow simmered for hours in the sauce rather than thrown in at the last minute before serving, etc.) this dish is succulent, comforting, a little spicy and satisfying. New Vallarta nailed it, it was everything I'd hoped for!
I'll be coming back frequently, and I can't wait to try other interesting menu items now that I know the cooking is legit! The service was also fantastic, which is important. Please don't change anything!

Wonderful place, very delicious, authentic mexican food. Staff was also very friendly and attentive, they always made sure we were being taken care of. Highly recommended.

Really carefully prepared, and consistently crafted food is served in this humble former fast food location. My take out tacos lenguas were served with little cups of both salsa verde and an unknown to me but smoky brownish sauce that proved to be a star attraction on the tacos. Their excellent take on guacamole has some punch to it. As an English speaker we had difficulty with the phone order over loud music. The in house experience was better and a slight order mixup was cheerfully corrected. These things are addictive! I go back occasionally but regularly.

Authentic Mexican cuisine, friendly and attentive service. Francisco, the owner, was outstanding in providing impeccable service, food suggestions and making his clientele comfortable, and happy to be there. Do yourself a favor and make NEW VALLERTA RESTAURANT your ONE STOP restaurant for a REAL taste of Mexico, right in Okolona.

I was a little bit nervous because I never heard anyone talk about this place however it is now in my top 5 favorite places.

We recently discovered this place and have eaten here 3 times so far. Each time the food has been amazing. The street tacos are the best!
