Simply put, I just love coming here.

I think I've interacted with three different employees across my visits. Every time, everyone has been SO helpful and informative. I always feel very heard when I explain when I'm working toward, and end up leaving feeling like I have all the information and tools I need to accomplish my project. I've never felt like I'm being over-sold things that I don't need or that aren't quite right for me... when I come away buying more than I expected, it's 100% my own fault lol.

But the thing I really want to express is that the folks here have never made me feel talked-down to or stupid. I come to this shop as a woman that is new to the craft, but know I could probably be in the hobby for 20 years and still run the risk of having men assuming I'm out of my element. No one at this Woodcraft location has ever made me grimace because they've over-explained something. No one here has made me feel like they doubt whether I'm up to the job, or talked over my ideas about what I'd like to try. My preferred learning strategy around crafting things is to "wing it" and happily pivot if I fail, and no one was rolling their eyes at my currently less-than-professional setup and skill level.

I wish that my comfort as a woman here doesn't feel like such a notable dynamic, but it is. So I'm EXTREMELY appreciative for the good vibes, and for the help!! Thanks!!!!

This place is great! They sell a full line of Kreg jigs, which the big box stores don't. They have many specialty items and a ton of things I could spend money on. Awesome customer service. Jon was great. Diane helped me on the phone.

I purchased a table saw, a dust collection system, and various small items from this store over the last couple weeks. During this time I may have spoken to just about every person working there and I found a common thread in interacting with the staff that made me smile: every person I spoke to seemed to have fun with each other, with the customers, and was incredible helpful and professional. This stems from cultivating a great culture there and the crew has really made it a fun environment to be in. This might be my favorite retail store in Louisville let alone a fantastic place for woodworking resources. Definitely will be my woodworking home for the foreseeable future. To Mike, Bill, Diane, Steven, Zack, and the others I didn’t catch a name, you are the best and your customer service cannot be outdone. ✌

Stopped in store today for the 1st time. Have always done a little woodworking and finally decided to commit to purchasing the toys I needed to do it right. The gentleman who helped us was patient and answered all our questions. Didn't commit to any purchases today but when we do this will be the store we will be buying from.

Excellent place for woodworking needs and specialty supplies. I always thought they were pricey until I started comparing prices, they are reasonable for the quality. Staff are extremely knowledgeable, helpful and very enthusiastic in helping you start a new hobby. It seems genuine, as opposed to a sale. They offer classes which are informative and hands on. If you're interested in working with wood check them out.

I was timid to visit here from previously written reviews. I am new to woodworking and was welcomed with friendly and very helpful employees. They take their time to fully explain the good and bad of different tools, techniques, and brands. They saved me hundreds on some larger equipment and helped me make informed decisions on safer and longer lasting tools.

I am a definite fan and already loyal after just a few visits.

Steven was so helpful. A great guy. My brother was looking for a specific type of wood and he not only helped us find it but honored the discount. He said he didn’t want us to run all over town. And to add to the great service , he was hilarious!

Im changing my disliked it to loved it. I don't know what changed over the year but my shopping experiences there recently have been great. fun conversations if you have the time. however. . . I'm a little reluctant to go back in there after today. . . because i see a freshly stocked cabinet of starrett measuring tools which i need in my shop and a new table saw . . . payday. . . can never come soon enough.

I love going here as a relatively new woodworker. Most of the staff has been excellent and very helpful with getting me started in new areas. Always cool to talk shop with people who have done more than a few things.

A lot of products for a small store. Employees helpful and knowledgeable. Demonstrations are usually pretty good. Coffee and cookies are a nice touch when available.

My step dad is the wood expert and he loves the Louisville location much better than Lexington, KY. Lexington is rude and poorly stocked, Louisville has friendly staff and well stocked.

I'm giving five stars cause they are who they say they are- woodcraft craftsmen. Craftsmen are not laborers- that would be found with our friends at Harbor Freight.

Now, one thing you need to know, while a craftsman is above a laborer in skill and ability, the craftsman is no artist. The craftsman will likely never be a true artist capable of creating a true original work of beauty. They can imitate, of course, but they know their limits. They surround themselves with hyper-expensive tools to compensate for their limitations.

A true artist can do more with a pocket knife and a wood scrap than a craftsman can do with thousands of dollars of equipment and $20 per bf kiln dried lumber. But the artist likes to go in to Woodcraft and do a little shopping, be humble, ask questions, laugh a little inside at things that seem absurd. Because while the laborer and the craftsman have a store devoted to them, the artist does not. The artist turns to nature and wanders its aisles for inspiration. Once in a while he swings by woodcraft and picks up an extremely expensive blade and overlooks any pretentious craftsman bluster.

Brought in a return. Diane figured out how to put the return on a gift card even though it was on a credit card originally. Great customer service 👍
