Perfect for kids

The manager Barbara is terrible. She’s clearly been in this business way too long and is losing her touch on how to properly talk to customers and her employees. Her tone is always rude, she will talk down to her employees right in front of customers which is a HORRIBLE way to manage, and overall make you feel unwanted the entire time. Not to mention she is severely transphobic towards her two trans employees. I’ve heard her misgender them and call them both “he-she’s”, it’s not hard to have common decency and be a kind person. She needs to just retire if she’s going to act like that. Also it doesn’t help that she’s severely racist and follows around people of color in her store. She leaves the white people alone though, but as soon as even one person of color walks in she’s all over them. It’s really irritating and frustrating to watch as Spencer’s is supposed to be a very welcoming to ALL KINDS OF PEOPLE place. Overall, she’s just a rude manager who needs to get off her high horse and stop acting like she’s so wonderful. Seriously lady, you’re in your 60s and love to act like a high school mean girl still? Get a life.

However the good parts would be the other employees, especially the supervisors Eli & Jessica, associates Jordan, Petra, Kayla & Matt. They are always kind and welcoming, never once had a bad experience with any of them. They are all helpful and kind, they make you feel very welcomed. If you come in on a day without that “manager” being there, it’ll be a good time!

My girlfriend wanted something and didn't have.

The staff here or terrible. I came in over the weekend because I got an email from spencers saying they were having a Halloween event all weekend. When I got there , there was nothing going on not even music playing. The staff except for one employee were all at the back of the store just chatting not doing anything. I decided to just grab a couple shirts since there was a huge sign saying buy one get one half off, when I went to the register to pay the woman ringing me up had a horrible attitude. I asked about getting my card punched for their rewards program and she rudely said we don't use those You Have To Get The App. I told her I dont use apps and she rudely said that you won't get credit for your purchase then. Instead of arguing I just wanted to finish paying and leave, but then she told me the particular shirts I was getting were not apart of the sale even though there was a huge sign saying otherwise. The staff here are lazy and rude and untrained, the inventory is lower than I be seen. I guess we are being forced to buy everything online if this is the kind of in person experience you can expect in store.
