Bourbon Academy Tasting Room

Wow! What a pleasant surprise. We had hoped to have one last bourbon cocktail before flying out but I assumed when we saw this place after TSA that it would be absurdly expensive but much to our surprise, it was quite affordable. The $5 bourbon with a beer was an amazing deal anywhere you'd go. Do yourself a favor and drop in on your next flight through Louisville. Also, really polite and helpful waitstaff.

After a long day of flight delays this was such a bright spot! Exactly what we needed - cozy spot and exceptional service and drinks. If you find yourself at the Louisville airport for 10 minutes or 5 hours, make sure this is the spot that you stop! Special thanks to Lorenzo for making our day & giving us the best positive vibes to turn a frustrating situation (flights!) to a really great memory!

Food is fantastic and bourbon selection is impressive. Kendra was my bartender and she was really friendly. Place has nice atmosphere. Like that it is on the second floor away from the noise

Ok so here’s the deal - at noon on a Tuesday this spring, the amazing, efficient and attentive Joe was the *only staff* attending patrons at the Bourbon Academy Tasting Room. When I entered the restaurant we had maybe 12 patrons, but by the time I left we had a full house (not visible behind the pillars but fully seated) with only 1 table free. A support staff member came in but Joe was the sold team member handling pouring drinks (bartender) and taking payment at the counter (cashier) in addition to running food.
Joe was attentive and took care of making sure I had the hot sauce I asked for. While I greatly enjoyed the smashed burger and the Bulleit Rye (a personal fav) - the cocktails are not worth it, mine had 2% alcohol. I’m from New Orleans so was duly disappointed. The venue and food were solid and well kept but shame.on.this.establishment for having one (1) single employee working a busy lunch shift. Pay your employees more and give them more shifts.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff! Shoutout to Chasity & Kendra who were very attentive and nice. If you have any time to spare, it’s definitely worth stopping by and having a drink!

Had a layover in the Louisville airport and stopped into the Bourbon Academy Tasting Room. The atmosphere, drink and food selections were good. The service was great!! Chris was our server and he was attentive and courteous. Kindly, Chuck

We had an excellent experience! The manager Jason stopped by to talk with us and asked about our service. It was amazing. Our server Teaisha was very attentive! The meatballs were fantastic. Kelsey made fantastic drinks!

Quiet place to sit and enjoy some of Kentucky's finest and really good food options. Average prices really. I tried the hot brown and a top flight of whiskey. The 1870 was the best. Awesome, friendly service with a smile.

Stopped in for a whiskey before my flight. Fun, light hearted atmosphere and great service. Sherry took good care of me. Would recommend (did not eat - but the food looked good coming out)

A fantastic place to stop for a bite and a pour when you’re leaving Louisville. Had a wonderful sandwich, a nice rye whiskey, and delightful service from Lusy. She was amazing, as was the whole experience. Highly recommend!

Nino is an awesome bar tender and host!! He knows his bourbons and made great bourbon recommendations!! It has great prices for an airport as well!! We had a great time while waiting for our flight! We will stop by every time we are in this airport !!

The service & food was delicious. The staff was accommodating & professional. My waiters, Montr'a & Lorenzo were exceptionally courteous & knowledgeable about the menu. I personally went to the kitchen window & thanked the chef & staff for the tasty hot food. I highly recommend this restaurant to dine. 💯

Great service for an airport bar! Staff was all friendly, helpful, and efficient. They made great drinks and had an impressive bourbon selection (at surprisingly reasonable prices!) for an airport bar. I got the Buffalo chicken sandwich with fries, and it was actually pretty good. Would definitely stop by here again the next time I'm flying through Louisville.

I had a nice hot brown and bourbon ale here, both of which I recommend. Service can seem a bit slow but I think the key is to be proactive to get someones attention if you don't feel like things aren't moving fast enough. Anymore, staffing is hard to come by and the workers are over worked and stressed. Having said that, my order came quick, everyone genuinely seemed nice, and the manager stopped by to check on me. The good food, bourbon selection, view, and overall ambiance is worth it alone

We fly in and out of Louisville alot. We always frequent Bourbon Academy and Sherri and Tasha are always happy and welcoming. The food is delicious and the service top notch!

Absolutely love this spot. It’s my go-to spot in the airport and one of the best moments in an airport that you can get. Sherry and Dallas are amazing!
