Dr. Clara A. Pallares, MD

Dr. Pallares is very thorough and thoughtful in her care. She never rushes through an appointment and really listens! I am very grateful to have found her.

This isn’t a review about the doctor because I didn’t get that far. It’s about the woman who answered the phone and refused to help me because I’m not a patient. I was referred to this doctor by my husband and didn’t know they weren’t accepting new clients. I tested positive for the flu and just needed more help with my symptoms as they are worsening and I was having an anxiety attack. The lack of empathy was appalling. Please work on the customer service on the front line because empathy and health care go hand in hand.

Unfortunately had a very embarrassing and terrible experience here, especially with receptionist Angie. I have a disease that requires me to take a non-narcotic medication everyday, otherwise I’ll have awful health repercussions. I found out I could not get a refill until I came in to see the doctor. After explaining to Angie that I no longer had insurance and wanted to see if I could just come in for labs she stated “well I don’t have insurance either and you’ll just have to pay!” I’ve had a diagnoses with this disease since 2009 and know the ropes. Angie told me I had to come in and get a physical before labs could be done. I said I would not allow the office to BLACKMAIL my life. A physical (while recommended) is NOT required to determine if my condition is stable. I asked for prices on the labs and range for the office visit. Was not given price for labs and was given range of $67-280 for visit. At time of visit Angie made it very clear that I would be paying in full before leaving! I was charged $87 to have my temp, blood pressure, oxygen level and heart rate taken plus $167 for lab work. This office does not accept billing post visit as an option and does not accept CareCredit. This means this office does not care about our lives, well-beings, or economic situation. They care about cold hard cash. You’re better off going to a free clinic; you’ll probably be treated with more dignity.
