My husband is a Vet and since moving back to Kentucky we explore the state and we came across this park. We stopped here on my husband's birthday so it was a pleasant surprise.
WOW, beautiful and welcoming grounds. Very clean
This is one of our favorites so far. The Vetran Wall is absolutely stunning.

As a VA nurse I have seen first hand the hurt in the eyes of our veterans and it breaks me. Places like this are vital to our country as we should celebrate the return of our heroes and acknowledge the unspeakable loss when they are unable to make it back safely. We stopped by on our KY vacation from our NC home. I sent photos to several friends and family members who have actively served our country. Thank you so much for putting so much thought, care, and passion into this park. It was seen and felt.

This is one of the most beautiful parks in the local area. There’s plenty of room for birthday parties at any of the gazebos, but I think they have to be reserved. There’s also picnic areas on the grass plenty of flat space if you wanted to have a blanket picnic. There’s plenty of playground equipment with swings and a rope climbing part wheelchair accessible and plenty of slides. Highly recommend this park on a pretty day. The Veterans Memorial is so beautiful. Very informative and a in depth look at what veterans went through during the vietnam war.

One of the most beautiful veterans park anywhere! The tributes located in here are awe inspiring and emotionally thought provoking. Anyone even close to Jeffersontown should make a visit to this amazing, patriotic park.

The transformation of this park is inspiring. The newly created memorial highlights true stories of troops and of a population displaced by war. The poem engraved on the glass wall , it is beautiful, as are the stories and photographs. Beautiful memorial.

The walking trails are paved and short distance. They make for a relaxing family friendly walk. The park is dog friendly, however, there are typically many children of all ages (and their many squeals of delight and disgust), sessions of basketball games, picnics and birthday celebrations, and often other dogs.

They have shut the bathrooms down for the season (October 1, 2023) and I feel this is a detriment to the park. I also feel once the memorial is complete, having a wheel chair accessible, family, bathroom nearby is necessary for our older veterans and others that may be attending the memorial section of the park.

Clean and beautifully kept grounds. The memorial is truly amazing for everyone to honor those who sacrificed all. The family oriented playground, walking trail, bridge, swings, bbq grills, benches and tables with overhead cover make this location a true gem in Middletown. A+++

A bit of a hidden gem in Louisville's park system, this medium-scale park is one I grew up in, as it's walking distance from my childhood home. Although it's not as large as the major parks, and it's further from the main metropolitan area, its main attractions are worth the drive from anywhere in the city. The park boasts a major renovation that has tidied up its landscaping as well as two new, large playgrounds, a new bathroom house, and a handful of large, covered picnic areas. What makes this park truly unique, however, is its military relics: a retired World War II tank and helicopter, which both served in combat during the war, and have since rested here as dedications to those who served. The renovation also brought about a new, well-lit memorial promenade with impressive, and quite beautifully-sculpted walls that are engraved with various dedications to our country's military branches. These features make the park the ideal place for group events and celebrations, as well as a place for quiet solace and reflection. Its more subtle features which will attract the nature-lookers and bird-watchers, the after-dinner-dog-walkers, or reflective-sunset-and-sunrise-watchers include a paved walking path about a half mile long, which winds downhill behind the main park area and leads park-goers to the large pastoral area, a long, tree-lined field which is cut through by a shallow, flowing creek. And that's not the end, as this roaming little piece of quietude leads to yet another historical landmark, a century-old, one-lane bridge with its own looking-dock that extends out over the creek so that you can get the perfect view of the stonework and serenely cascading water that have stayed flowing for over a hundred years on this little piece of land. If you follow the path past the bridge, it circles back up to a well-maintained baseball field and the Jeffersontown community center, then back to the main park area. I cherish this park even more now that so much work has been put into its beauty and true sense of naturalism, as well as the statements it makes about patriotism, reflection, togetherness, and abiding with the natural world among city or suburban life. It truly is the perfect place to take a walk after dinner, as the sun sets, stopping for a few reflective moments at the lit promenade to think about our place in this place we call the world.

Great for kids! There are walking trails and picnic areas. There is a creek that runs down over the hill where the walking trails are and it's very pretty. It's very clean and well maintained as well.

It's a beautiful tribute to our soldiers. Looks like they are expanding it to include information about other wars.
