Absa hair braiding

Got braids done for the first time ever with Absa and cannot say enough about how detail oriented and intentional of a job I felt she did! So amazing! Am very happy with the braids and will definitely come back.

It was my first time in over 10 years getting my hair braided. I didn’t remember anyone who I previously had doing my braids, and looked on Google for a new braider and found Absa! I am so glad that I did. The communication was great! She did a wonderful job on my box braids! Absa did my braids quickly, and neatly and gave me exactly what I wanted in size and length! I will be back and so glad I found a new braider in Louisville!! Book with her for satisfied services!!!

Absa is such a sweet lady and I wholeheartedly wanted to leave a 5 start review but I simply can’t. For beginners, she does not have a shop she braids out of the kitchen of her home (not a big deal but that should have been stated before I booked). However, that is on me for not asking. Secondly, when I took my bonnet off she clearly saw how short my hair was (I am growing it out from a short style) and she could have said she could not braid it. Instead she pointed out and area at the nape of my neck and said she couldn’t braid it and I agreed because I planned on cutting that area anyway. She then proceeded to braid my hair. She braids extremely tight (so be careful) and I honestly could not put my hair up for 2 days comfortably once the braids were done. Secondly, the braids in the middle and towards the top of my hair are EXTREMELY sloppy and bigger than the rest of my hair. My hair is coming out of the braids (which is very noticeable unless you cover it up with the braids in the front) and when I finally felt through the braids to my scalp some of the hair isn’t even braided!!! The crown of my hair near my ears and towards the base of my neck was not braided either. Not one time did she speak with me and let me know other areas she couldn’t braid due to the length. I can only wear my hair one way to cover up all the areas that aren’t braided. If I pull my hair all the way up it looks a mess. There was no communication with me during the entire braiding process to let me know what was going on(again I should have asked). While she was braiding my hair she was talking extremely loud on the phone and then extremely loud to a lady who was sitting across from the table. All in all, my experience wasn’t the best, my hair doesn’t look the best and I honestly had my hopes up. I will admit from the front my hair looks absolutely beautiful but it is what’s underneath and around that looks a mess. I wanted to leave a review as detailed as possible so that it didn’t seem as though I was making anything up. I unfortunately will not return to have my hair braided again and I sadly will not recommend her to anyone that I know.
