Always appreciated the KBN, especially compared with a couple of other states I carry licenses in, seriously. But it seems like the people who made it 'human' must be retiring and are being replaced with bureaucracy.
That said, could you and the other 49 states and the certification organizations and the DEA and others get on the same page? I'm not a 12 story office building full of administrative staff. I am one barely computer literate guy without a home computer. It would be funny if it wasn't so serious when you have to do something: "Just read the telephone book of FAQ's, then fill out some of the hundreds of forms, click on a dozen links-read some more, after you've read a law book of KY laws and board directives". How does any of that 'protect the public'?
This time it was about continuing education and 'CE Broker'. Where am I going to scan ~ 150 certificates? It is bad enough just to list it on that arduous program, but to be scanning certificates? Do you know the nurse has to do that for certifying organizations (I have 3), every state of license (again, 3), and too often someone else? All different formats of course. I will put on my brakes before a catharsis about KASPER and running patients through the state prescription data bases. Guys, it is just inconsiderate and unfair as citizens cry out for simple and efficient government.
5 stars because it has been awesome to deal with the board in the past. But, I'm warning you, it's beginning to sink in that you aren't doing the best job for us.
Ms. Wise, can we talk?

Shannon Whitlock is amazing, I have been working with her for over 2 years and I have never came across anyone so amazing and so fast in my life. Shannon you are a treasure to the earth and you are appreciated so much. Thanks for everything that you do.

Getting a license by endorsement seems to be harder than taking the NCLEX. Other than that, the people I spoke with were professional and understanding that the process has flaws.

TO ANYONE CALLING KY BOARD OF NURSING AT A PHONE # ENDING IN 2813: This is a personal cell phone number and NOT the Ky Board of Nursing. I have not ever worked for them and have no connection to them of any kind but receive multiple phone calls weekly of nurses trying to reach them. I have contacted the Ky Board of Nursing multiple times asking them to please correct this mistake in their phone directory. I am sorry I’m unable to assist the nurses calling/leaving messages at an incorrect number. I hope Ky Board of Nursing will see this and correct the misinformation so nurses can receive the help they’re needing!

My name is Phillip Just and the only reason I actually gave one star was to make this review.
With that being said, I have a sister who is a registered nurse in the state of Kentucky, her name being ( Patricia Gibson) who works at the University of Louisville Medical Hospital.
I am not sure if all of the nurses there share thee same morals, values, care and compassion that Mrs Gibson does, but if they do, then I would NEVER refer snyone to be seen or treated at that hospital under her care. Especially after the way she talkd to patients camily members, ( even if they are related to her). Because even as a health care professional, she is inconsiderate, uncaring, unprofessional, verbally abusive, mentally abusive, and to be honest cares more about her owm opinions than she does someones welfare and safety. Trust me I know, I have valid complaints as well as conversations where she has been verbally abusive, mentally abusive as well as cruel to our own mother and left her unattended after injuries have taken place knowing that we had been informed that our mother required 24 hour care as instructed by her own drs and yet Mrs Gibson still decided to leave her alone, and when I volunteered to come and get our mother to take care of her, she proceeded to thraten our mother with if she did, then our mother would never see her again along with her children. And it wasn't until this past weekend that our mother almost died because along with her regular medical problems, she also has a history of mental issues and went into an episode where she cut her oxygen lines into pieces and threw them into the trash along with her oxygen tanks and was foind vy a neighbor who then called an ambulance amd when they arrived her oxygen levels were at below 40% and she was rushed to the hospital.
So, again I say, with that kind of behaviorio, I wouldn't take any family member to be seen there. And if she were the nurse I had or ended up with, I would ask for another one or leave the hospital, especially when Mrs Gibson works under a cardiology specialist.

I am a Dialysis Technician from a different state. I tried to get credentialed for the state of Kentucky and did all my paperwork as instructed by the website. The DT Coordinator, Suha Quatrain-Walsh emailed me instructing me to email an updated copy of my application, which I did. It has been over a month and while the website stated that I should allow up to 14 business days, I’ve allotted more time than that. No one has returned my calls or emails. I’ve put in a complaint with the Kentucky Board of Nursing and no one has contacted me about that. This is unprofessional and I’m very disappointed in this entire process!

Called to hopefully fix a problem-had applied for license by endorsement. One application had expired, so the process had to be started over, fine.
All info turned in had my current married name but when my license was issued, it was issued under previous name. I was calling to see why. I had even sent in copy of SS card with current name.
The lady, who didn’t provide her name, was rude. She even stated, “we can’t just assume you want a name change because of a different name on the application.”
I ended up hanging up because I was getting no where with her.
I did receive a call from another lady shortly after, and I’m so sorry I didn’t get her name. She was much nicer and was aware of the problem and stated she was going to change the name in the system. Thank you, and I so wish I would’ve remembered your name.
In the future, please pass along your excellent customer service and phone etiquette to fellow coworkers!

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! Been trying to talk to a case manager for months. Can’t get a return call, can’t get a return email, but then I receive mail saying I’m not trying to cooperate to complete a process.

Every time I have called I am told that the office is closed due to an emergency. I leave a message & no one ever returns my call. This is a bad website & poor customer service.

The system is extremely slow when it comes to being endorsed from another state. After paying $500 for the process, I have been waiting weeks for my fingerprint update. Please KBON digital finger printing is a much better process than depending on Kentucky State police to process your fingerprints. Kentucky State police is 6 weeks behind on print processing which is causing a 6-8 week application processing time. Please do better.

They are so political and political correct they know longer represent the Nurse. They are more concerned about the political side it makes me sick. If you try to find out what is right or wrong don’t do it. When you find out do what you think is best and don’t alert or ask questions.
