Ignore the snooty comments here. I recently moved to the area (which is an expensive part of town to maintain a large, open, free space for gamers to gather btw) and was delighted to find a game store that did not cater to the console only crowd.

It's a public service as far as I'm concerned, and I have nothing but good things to say about Brandy, the owner and manager, who greeted me companionably, as if I were an old established customer. We spoke about D&D groups that meet there (public, and I was invited to join, thank you Brandy :), including a prestigious group on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm sponsored by Wizards of the Coast themselves! Another public group, both groups run by experienced DM's, meets on Saturdays.

Where some comments have indicated a spare and roomy character to the store (accurate, and a positive in a gamer's group focused space), to say the inventory is limited is to miss the point. It is, in my somewhat considered opinion, quite extensive after understanding this gaming space is NOT trying to be everything to everybody, but rather a particular kind of haven. A niche nook for a relatively small group of highly active, highly invested, highly imaginative people. For those with the imagination to fill this room with Kingdoms and Dungeons, Mountains and Forests, and Seas and Battles - well, it is a blessing beyond price.

For any who have an interest in in the grandest of tabletop, board, and trading card games (D&D, Warhammer & Warhammer 40K, Magic the Gathering, Shadowrun, Pathfinder), it is a place of pilgrimage..a place I plan to be on Wednesday night!

PS The store is actively exploring a new Pathfinder gaming group. Should be excellent! Call the store and ask the owner/gamer Brandy about it :)

Something 2 Do has been around for longer than I have, and it has been my go to spot for any type of game since I moved to Louisville 10 years ago. I have never seen a store that supports so many groups of people. Warhammer, Warmachine, Malifaux, Flames of War, Heroclix? Groups and events for all.

Play tcgs? They have Magic, Pokémon, Marvel Dice Masters, Fantasy Flight LCGs, and more. I think they have 4-5 magic events every week.

Play board games? They have groups that play on Tuesday, Wednesday, and the large Louisville board game group meets up there every other Sunday, I think. There are usually always people around to play a board game, in my experience.

Ontop of all that, they also host huge video game events. I think I have seen 30-40 people in the back just playing smash or street fighter.

I know they recently did some restructuring and we're moving things around, so a lot of product was off the shelf or on hold till they finished. The last time I was in it looks like they had a lot of stuff on the shelf. They do a lot of magic as well, and they have binders for each and every magic set. The employees are also very knowledgeable about magic and board games, and there is usually someone around that knows something about nearly any game.

If you go in looking for a group, just remember that a lot of us are introverts and it's sometimes hard to openly engage with new people. Take that step and introduce yourself and you will find some of the coolest gamers ever at Something 2 Do.

Card selection is some what limited for MTG, but all other games really great here. Best thing, they make you feel like a an old friend. Great environment!

Visited from out of town for a gaming tournament. The store was very busy all afternoon and evening and seemed to be a regular hangout for the locals. Staff were friendly, but game selection seemed a little lacking - this store is better suited for social meet ups, not so much to buy the latest game. However, they have a huge setup in the back with TVs where you can plug in your own gaming system and play as long as you want. Couple restaurants nearby in the strip mall - I'd suggest Firehouse Subs for that!

Two stars because of a decent sized game space, but this place needs to not advertise as a board game store. Target has a better selection and the prices are above msrp for the few games they do have in stock. Example, Bioshock Infinite (board game); their price, $80 with 20% off, retail is $65.00, so $1 off retail when it's on sale. Not to mention it's going for less than $35 on Amazon.

If your looking for a place to play games, check this place out. If your looking to purchase board games, your better off going to Barnes and Noble, better selection and no price gouging.

Thoroughly mediocre game shop. Large space, with plenty of gaming tables, which is nice, but their stock was really thin. No Pandemic, Betrayal at House on the Hill, Forbidden Desert, Forbidden Island, or Lord of the Rings? C'mon guys - it's not like these are super obscure games with marginal following or anything. They had a smattering of other board games, but it really felt like it wanted to be a specialty Magic: the Gathering shop. And the staff radiated a big helping of don't care.

I was trying to return a overly complicated game that I suspect maybe only 20 people on earth know how to play, and I think most of them would be Russian. Anyways I couldn't return the game which was fine, store policy and all. But as I was looking around for another purchase the manager/owner came up and patted down my bag, implying that I was stealing. It was a busy day, they had some event and the story was packed. But honestly Im in my mid 20s, and so was my brother who was with. We did look out of place compared to the other customers, in the sense that we where both dressed well and didn't look like we had crawled out of a basement. Would not shop there again, also the owner was very rude to me in helping me with my return questions.
Selection wasn't that great either, who needs 8 different variations of risk?

I went into this store on Saturday because i am on vacation. I talked to a man with glasses about a game gear and a gameboy pocket. The game gear didn't work but the gameboy did when tested. He went online and priced the gameboy for $20. I told him i can get it the next day. I went back and now there was a lady there. I mentioned what had transpired the day be fore then she stated i will not sell it for that price because i am the owner and that's it. I then re iterated what the gentleman said n she was even ruder and then she stated if you want to talk about it another day we can. I mentioned again i was from Tennessee and wouldn't be here. She then said that sucks to be you and i guess you can't get it. This is no way to run a business and treat customers. Very rude. I hope she doesn't treat people from Kentucky that way or they won't be in business that long.
