Sandbar Amelia Island

I had been here last April and only had an appetizer. I’m so glad I ordered food this time. To begin my journey I started with a local brew. Followed by Crab Cakes. So tasty. Very moist and flavorful. Then I enjoyed the flounder on a bed of cheese grits. Super delicious. The blackened seasoning was perfectly balanced and not too strong or hot. After another draft I retired to the beach 🏖 chair in front of the restaurant and my sweet server was so kind to bring me one more brew. She said I left it on the table but her sweet smile 😊 and a wink made it a perfect meal. She said I tipped her too much but that was my desire to help her deal with a fussy customer who didn’t like her food, even though she ate it. That kind of behavior makes me angry and I tried to help my wonderful server. She was so kind I even got a hug on my way out. I love great food but I really love great service even more and she exceeded my expectations and warmed my heart ❤ I will be back soon. Enjoy 😊

It's a fun multilevel spot with a sports bar vibe, but also has patio and beach seating. We had dinner there twice this week. I enjoyed the sirloin and pork chop entrees, my wife really liked the poke bowl and had it twice. Likewise, my friend had the blackened redfish with grits and creamy sauce twice. The beer selection is excellent, and the hurricane rum drink was spot on.

I've had the thin crust pizza in the past and also recommend it

We came a few years ago and I remember being pleasantly surprised with the food here being that it is right on the beach. And this time it was truly amazing. We each got the grouper sandwich with grits and Brussels sprouts. Our server, Ann, who was sweet and wonderful, suggested getting the grouper blackened. And I have to say it was probably up there with the best grouper I’ve ever had.

Best On the beach location! Sit at the bar with the fabulous Jason Green, enjoy fabulous service, delicious food and amazing live music! AND join the preferred customer program, as I am enjoy a free amazing lunch of BOOM BOOM SHRIMP. Plus a free dessert during my birthday month!

Sandbar was amazing. The staff was wonderful. Our waitress was very kind and helpful. The food was excellent being able to sit right by the beach and have a wonderful meal with my sister who I am visiting with spectacular. Thank you.

The crispy mahi sandwich would have only been better without the cheese and some kind of sauce or mayo would have been nice, but it was still a yummy meal. The brussel sprouts I ordered as an extra side were the highlight of the meal! Loved being able to view the beach from our table.

Had Lunch at at The Sandbar today. It deserves a 5 Star because it’s just that good. Whether you’re a local, or if you’re visiting Amelia Island, it has it all. If you are looking for casual, beachfront, affordable dining, then head to The Sand Bar. If you’re looking for somewhere you can wear flip flops, shorts and a bathing suit to eat, then you’re welcome at this restaurant. Ride your bike or drive your car. Located right on The Main Fernandina Beach. Dining inside, patio or there is seating and tables right on the sand. The food is good. The Staff is always friendly. This place gets busy. There are TVs and a live band for entertainment. As a Local resident, I always take my visitors to grab a bite to eat. I highly recommend going to dine here. If you’re visiting, pick up a T-shirt or cap to go.

A nice place on the beach to watch the sunset and have a beer and a few cocktails. The staff is friendly, but very busy. The dude who delivered the food to the table was very attentive and friendly. Our server was friendly. The pizza is pretty good. The sunset is right over their beach. They have a stage for live entertainment. They have talked indoor, outside and on the beach

This was our 1st time at the Sandbar. We stopped for lunch. Ann was our waitress and she was great, very pleasant and attentive!!! I ordered a pizza only to find out their pizza chef was out sick so their pizza oven wasn’t turned on. But then Jason, the bartender, stepped up and offered to make me a pizza in their regular oven. While I was skeptical at first, BRAVO to Jason as the pizza was awesome!! The rest of the food was thoroughly enjoyed as well. Kudos to Ann & Jason for making our visit top notch!! Five stars from Michigan Mike….

Eaten here multiple times, I always enjoy the food, this last time, we only went for drinks and the live music. Enjoyed the show and the bartender was great!

The food was phenomenal. Service was a bit slow but very friendly. The atmosphere on the beach is beautiful. When there's live music, don't expect to have any intimate conversations.

Cool bar. The food was delicious. Had a BLT. It was very good. The bartenders were great to talk to. I will definitely go back when I'm in town.

Location is amazing 😍. Food is great, Love the pizza and burgers. My husband who is Celiac is thrilled that he can have she crab soup which is unusual to find. They also have a gluten-free pizza he can have. We love the servers there. They're awesome, it just takes forever to get the food so don't go there if you're in a hurry.

I went to Sandbar today around 2pm and had the most amazing meal. If you haven’t tried their bourbon burger, you’re missing out. Of course it comes with your choice of sides. I chose their cheese grits. Let me tell you. They were quite possibly the best grits I’ve ever had.
My server Ann was kind, smiling, upbeat, and very attentive. She knew a lot about each item on the menu and had tried the selections I had.
After my meal she said ready for dessert naming what was offered. I chose the cheese cake it’s a favorite of mine. Sandbar makes their own cheese cake. I thought wait a minute, did she say homemade. That was a selling point for me. Goodness gracious the cheese cake could be made for guests at the White House. It was that amazing.
I’m definitely coming back to dine in again. Wonderful ambience and friendly staff.

I wanted to share that I had perfect service from Jason today and the food was also excellent. I work in the Food and Beverage industry so I always have a keen eye for my surroundings and the little details. I noticed other patrons having good service as well and seeming to enjoy their experience. Such a great location right on the beach, very nice to sit and relax and take in the beautiful scenery. For lunch I had the fried shrimp, fries and crispy bourbon Brussel sprouts. Shrimp are fresh and local…delicious! Thank you Jason!

I was here last week for a work trip and had dinner by myself on the patio. View was great, bourbon steak was delicious, and good service.
Upon returning home, I realized my card was accidentally overcharged $11 (normally I wouldn't care but it was on my work credit card), so I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager Eric. He was very nice and professional and got everything sorted almost immediately. Thank you Eric for your great customer service! If I am ever in town again I will be coming back!

Such a fun and amazing place to eat! We had Easter Brunch and it was amazing! We ate upstairs where we had an amazing view of the beach. Staff was friendly and helpful, as well as very kind and patient with my boys with special needs. They have a kid menu!

Outstanding service and place. My wife and I just got in the car and drive off and made to Fernandina Beach Amelia Island. We were looking for a place to eat and found this place. Wow, very friendly staff, clean and hot fresh food. Definitely will be back

Must try! Sit on the patio and watch the surf while you enjoy your meal. We had a salad and the pig&fig pizza - so delicious. This is a super casual dining experience, with a dog friendly patio and water bowl service. We only had an hour for lunch and the server was sure to get us out with plenty of time. I wish I could've sat there all day. I can't think of anything that would've made this a better experience. (Please give this a thumbs up if you found this review helpful.)

Rode our bikes up to the Sandbar today for a light lunch. Nice pretzel bites, coconut shrimp, and roasted mushrooms, all delicious. Service was excellent as Ann was so nice, cheerful, and helpful. Loved it.
