Very nice tour.
Leaving the Amelia River and entering Saint Marys River, passing through Fort Clinch until reaching Cumberland Island.
Very good lesson on the history of Amelia Island.
The Captain and the guide are very friendly. They offered blankets for those who did not bring their jacket and even let the children take their photo in front of the ship's wheel.
You can bring your own snacks and sodas and binoculars are highly recommended.
The boat is comfortable and there is a bathroom and it leaves on time, so come early to board or you will miss it.

I can't say enough good things about our experience on this cruise. While on a recent trip to Amelia Island, we decided on a whim to go on the sunset cruise. I can say without a doubt that it was a fantastic decision. The boat left promptly when it was supposed to (if not a few minutes early) and was in no rush getting back, which maximized the time spent on the cruise. Captain Kurt was incredibly knowledgeable about Amelia Island and the surrounding waterways, including both its history and all current events. During the cruise, Captain Kurt worked tirelessly to make sure everyone had a good time by pointing out all the wildlife he saw as well as answering any and all questions during his entertaining dialogue. We saw dolphins multiple times on the cruise as well as wild horses on the shores of Cumberland Island. Captain Kurt also knew the best spots to get amazing sunset pictures. This was one of the most professional and well organized experiences that I have ever ever been on. If you're on the fence, just go ahead and book. You won't be disappointed.

We took the Cumberland Island Tour in the morning. The tour guides were wonderful and shared so much knowledge (more than I expected). The ride was smooth and while it was fairly chilly, there were plenty of blankets for each passenger, which was very appreciated!

Nate and Bob were amazing. We really signed up just hoping to see wild horses- which we did!!- but Nate and Bob were great storytellers, so much history and humor. We really enjoyed this tour a lot!

Best thing we have done on Amelia Island. We got to see dolphins and wild horses. The tour guide was excellent and knows the history. We highly recommend this inexpensive tour.

We did the Cumberland Island trip. I would recommend everyone that visits and has time to participate in this trip. And if you have just moved here, it is a good way to learn some of the history of the area

Amazing tour! This was our favorite activity on Amelia Island. John and Kurt were excellent guides. I can’t believe how much history they remember. We saw dolphins, horses and lots of birds! Highly recommend!!!

Both our captains were very knowledgeable and made the adventure very enjoyable. And we definitely got lucky and were able to see a submarine being escorted to the base.

The Amelia River Cruise was so perfect. The sights are beautiful and the guides were so kind. Their knowledge of the area was so informative and fascinating. We saw manatees, dolphins, and wild horses. There’s so much history here. It’s the perfect way to see the landscapes and learn about the natural habitats of the area. The price is very reasonable and we saw some who required assistance with wheelchairs. The guides were very helpful and kind.

We had the best time! We took our 7 year old and 7 month old on the 1 hour sunset tour. We got caught up in a storm, it got scary for a few min but the captain did an amazing job at joking around and keeping everyone calm. It ended up being a beautiful evening, we saw a double rainbow on the way back and the sunset was GORGEOUS! Next time we’re back we will definitely be doing the 2.5 hour cruise!

We did the Adults Twilight BYOB Cruise and loved it. There was live music (one guy with a guitar and microphone). We brought some High Noon and little Hillshire Snack Packs. It was pretty laid back but everyone did start singing along to Sweet Caroline by the end :) We saw horses and manatees and got a couple nuggets of local history here and there from the captains, plus the sunset was beautiful! I didn’t need a jacket for mid-July, there is a bathroom on board, and you can get water for a $1 donation.

We went on the sunset cruise the first night in Fernandina. Probably the best experience during the whole trip. Perfect for a romantic night, or calm experience for the kids. Unfortunately, we didn’t see wild horses due to someone illegally docked on Cumberland. The captain steered into the river around the island, and we saw wild flamingos, dolphins, and two alligators.

We loved this excursion. We wanted to see Cumberland Island and debated whether to drive to Georgia and take the ferry over. We were so glad we took the Amelia River cruise instead. Our cruise hosts were great! They pointed out historical locations and told us about events that were relevant to Fernandina Beach and places along the Florida side of the river. We then crossed over into Georgia where the cruise continued with the history and highlights of Cumberland Island. We saw the ferrel horses at a few locations which was something we hoped we would experience. We highly recommend taking this cruise. We felt like it was perfect and highly recommend it.

Absolutely outstanding cruise with Captain Bob. Funny and informative. The captains took extra time to show us dolphins capturing bait fish. Phenomenal effort and narrative. Everyone smiling and enjoying. Called Dana for tickets. Excellent friendly service

Capt Kurt and First Mate Bob gave a fabulous historical cruise experience covering Amelia and Cumberland Island history and several of the nearby islands. It was jam packed with information and entertaining at times. We highly recommend Amelia River Cruises. We saw many horses on Cumberland Island, the ice house at the Carnegie's and part of the Greyfield Inn. We also saw a few dolphin, 3 wild turkeys, several osprey and at least 8 tarpons jump from the water while feeding. Well worth the cost and a completely enjoyable experience.

We did the family friendly sunset cruise last weekend. It was so much fun! Our capt was great, funny and informative. Would definitely do again. There were quite a few kids and they were so well behaved!! It was one little girls birthday, the whole boat sang happy birthday to her and it was great! I got some wonderful photos!!
