Blazing Star Preserve

I was pleasantly surprised by the Blazing Star Nature Preserve. It offers numerous trails and paths, making it perfect for a family outing. During my visit, I encountered a tortoise, black snakes, and an iguana. While the preserve isn't very large, I found it enjoyable. Note that there are no restrooms and no pets are allowed, so come prepared and bring water.

Blazing Star Preserve is a nice surprise in a suburban area.
Right off of Camino Real road, just west of i95, it appears to be a small park, but is very deep with some great trails for wa6king and cycling.
It has sandy trails with brush surrounding on most sides, and you could get quite lost if you're not careful.
Some cool wildlife abounds, with squirrels, iguanas, tortoises and birds. I'm sure there is more wildlife, that is just what I saw on my trip through.
Be careful cycling through on a bicycle, as I got a flat tire from a thorn.
I would definitely recommend it for a nice family walk or cycle.

Took the time to "stop and smell the roses" though no roses were anywhere on the property 😉. It was a nice walk, on a sandy path through some natural Florida scrub. Saw a rabbit, but no tortoise (which was prominently advertised at the entrance). Took a couple of pictures of some angular branches (out-of-the-norm). Nice park; will return.

Small little neighborhood nature preserve butted up against the side of the interstate highway. Lots of traffic noise but if you can get past that as I did it has a quaint little trail.

A nice simple park with many opportunities for gopher tortoise sightings. Remember they are a protected species- no touching or interfering with them in anyway.

Nice little hidden spot by the highway. Very nice trail. It doesn't have much shade, but sometimes that can be refreshing.

Cool little walking trail or trail bike ride. The path is a medium to soft sand. So it does offer a little extra challenge riding a bike. You can get here by car, bike or walking. Did not see any animals but bet there are some at different times.

What is with all these dumb reviews on here? No they should not mulch over the amazing soft sugar sand. No there should not be food concessions. This is a nature preserve....exactly how it was in old Florida, and should remain just as it is. SMH

Enjoy the natural preservation of the surroundings for all to enjoy. Have come across ground tortoises, owls, hawks, various non venomous snakes to name a few of the creatures, thriving in this preserve. Thank you Boca.

It takes a special kind of person to go to a nature preserve, complain they dont have benches or serve food then admit to litering in a tree because you were too lazy to carry it. What you were looking for is a McDonald's, not sure why you came to this nice peaceful spot.

Very nice natural trail in the middle of Boca Raton. Saw lots of butterflies, squirrels and spiders.

THERE WERE SO MANY SPIDERS WHEN WE WENT, HOW IS THERE NO COMMENTS ABOUT THIS?!?!! IT WAS AWESOME AND TERRIFYING THEY WERE LITERALLY HANGING RIGHT ABOVE YOUR HEAD WITH GIANT SPIDER WEBS there was never not a spider over my head during my visit to blazing star.

It reminded me of my childhood. It was isolated and I thought of the tattooed from head to foot natives whose whole tribes were wiped out by Spanish flu before the arrival of the foreign creeks...so pleasant palmetto......

Great representation of a beautiful Florida environment. Great trails and even saw some cool tortuosus. Highly recommend.
